At least Portal 2 is still $50 Hopefully EA will lower Battlefield 3's $60 price tag in the next 5 or so months... what happened to trying to be PC gaming the main platform?

I remember when PC games were 40 dollars on release back in the late 90s.
If I got my games leaked 49 days early, I'd do it too.
Are people really this uninformed to remember that development budgets have significantly increased, especially on the PC? It's true that with digital distribution, manufacturing (and licensing) costs have plunged. But that doesn't nullify the fact that development costs have significantly outpaced sales revenue for all but the most successful games in the mainstream industry.

Most people have no idea that video games cost millions of dollars and most games barely get that back anymore. Today's generation of self-entitled gamers are unaware of the state of the actual industry, sux but there you go. Everyone will be happy to pay 60$ for pc games when the alternative is no games at all in ~10 years.
I only buy two or three games a year... Mostly indie, so no major blockbusters... Thankfully, with the Humble Indie Bundle and other assorted box sales, I can have my yearly gaming budget under $200USD. The only major games I'm buying this year are TESV and Portal 2, and I've already bought Little Big Planet 2 (Split the costs with my brother. $30 for LBP2 isn't bad!). Anyway, I don't intend to buy EA games... Maybe BF3, but I doubt it. I'm too busy with Minecraft. Also, remember that games drop from $60 to $20 in six months unless they're actually worth the price, so wait a while before you buy the game, and always buy used.
this is why i wait 2 or 3 months till the price go's down
UK price is still £30 for all of EA's games. :smug:
Touch wood.
I'm not gonna buy Portal 2 until it's a bit cheaper. And I got Crysis from Game.co.uk where Portal 2 costs more than all the other PC games I ever bought there.
Uhh? If you have any friend you can buy the double pack and pay only £24 and get Portal 1 free. How is that expensive. [editline]22nd February 2011[/editline] Oh wait, are we talking about the EA store?

Meaning they don't make as much, meaning budgets wont be met, let alone surpassed, meaning prices will eventually be raised further.
