Fuck me I want this game, is it thursday yet? :saddowns:
Anyone know if there will be any trials?
And how much will it cost monthly?
Third time I watch that video, I understand it more and more each time.
About 15 USD for two characters and a basic service.
I'm like Rank 12/Physical 14 now. The game needs a lot of adjustments, definitely, but I think it'll be pretty solid around the first patch when they add in companies and what-not.
So uh... I bought the game, registered the code on that Square Enix Members website... what do I do now?
I still have a keycode on the manual, where do I enter that?
This is so confusing! :byodood:
Plus the game isn't updating... at all... 0 B/s.

Go to this link https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/login?cont=account
click select service and then register your key. You might have to buy some Crysta unless you got the collectors edition and got 30 days free.
I recommend you torrent the updates, to do this open up my games in your documents FFXIV > Downloads > ffxiv > Bunch of numbers > Metainfo once you're in metainfo torrent all the torrents in there then place the files wherever they need to be.
Going to get this soon. It is digitally available right?
I wish I could play/buy this, but my computer would crap out.
Loved 11 though. :frown:
Anyway I can try this game out to see if it run smoothly enough to be playable?
Been playing for the past week. Its great fun but I'm feeling the crafting fatigue. My success rate is dwindling down. Time to go kill shit I guess.

Download the benchmark and post your scores.

Are you saying you're being affected by the fatigue/surplus system?
So, how does one end up switching disciplines? I've been wanting to try out something else but I haven't gotten the chance to. Is it as simple as switching weapons? Also, I would imagine (From the video Benji posted) that multiclassing doesn't come with any disadvantages, does it?
Yes, all you have to do is switch your weapon to switch your class.
The great thing about this system is that you can use abilities from different classes at the same time.
I leveled Lancer a few levels, then switched to Conjurer. Leveled that up enough to get cure and a couple buff spells, then switched back to Lancer. Now I have my Lancer abilities + conjurer spells set.
It's pretty much like a better way of doing the job/support job system they had in XI. It's way more convenient and fun to be able to switch your class on the fly.

That's pretty cool. Being able to use magic abilities to heal yourself while maintaining a combat class seems quite interesting.
Thanks for the info, I'll look into trying out some other classes.
And it works too. It's not like XI where there was no point having spells as a melee class. In this game you have a physical level (separate from your class level) which you can use the points earned each level to increase your stats. So you can make a balanced character that's good at healing AND swinging a sword.
Actually, speaking of physical level--I've seen a respec button below your stat allocations. Are you allowed to respec as much as you want? I am a little refrained from putting skill points in, as I don't know what I'm going to do yet.
The last few points you earned you can reassign through your menu and iirc you can go to an npc to reset them all
Am I the only one who thinks that there aren't enough levequests (early on anyway)?
I mean, I breezed through the ones that were avalible and ended up grinding until I could use the same ones yet again... I know you're supposed to do other things but even when I fished alongside of leveling my archer rank I felt like there wasn't enough to do.
And when does the next part of the main quest start anyway? I'm at Limsa Lominsa and I haven't gotten any hint whatsoever.

I guess so. I didn't think the fatigue system would affect my success rate but I've seen other users say the same thing with their success rate going down too. I've been crafting non-stop for the pass week and been really successful. Now I can't even succeed in making level 1 objects. I don't really mind since I need to go kill mobs for shards and gil anyways.

Did you see the synthesis guide they posted? And that's not how the surplus system works. If it were affecting you, you would see it in your chat log.
Really only the more hardcore players will be affected by the system. And it's really not a bad system at all.

Have you reached the rank 20's yet? At rank 20 you get much harder quests, plus faction leves. 100 faction credits and you can go do a harder leve with a boss at the end (plus an awesome piece of gear I believe for reward). Believe me, once you get past the first few sets of leves, it gets way harder and way more fun. We started doing rank 20 leves at around 13 when you can first access them. 4 stars with a several people was very challenging, but it was a lot of fun having to really work together and work on strategies to take down mobs.
No digital download? Fuck my shit, now I have to get up and go to Wal-mart tomorrow... shit.

I'm physical rank 10, Archer rank 7 and Fisher rank 6.
I find myself killing moles at the moment, which is fun, but since most of the quests don't give that much exp it's all I can do. :v:
Btw, when it says 'War&Magic rank 1/10/whatever' on the leve does it mean physical rank or your class rank?

Or order it from Amazon

Interesting. I just recently heard about the orb's color factors in crafting. I thought yellow was the best, then goes to white, red, flashing and unstable.

I'm really liking the dev faq stuff they're posting on the website. More direct contact with the development team is welcomed
So how is this game? I used to play FFXI but haven't played any MMOs in years.
How do I repair stuff? It says here I need a Willow Branch to repair my bow, I got one but it won't let me repair.
I'm going to assume I need a specific class to repair certain stuff?
Branches are used by Woodworkers. Find the vendor for woodworking supplies in whatever starting city you're in. If you're in Limsa it's by the Hawker's Alley on the right corner of the second alley if you're heading West. Shout for a Woodworker or find someone in your linkshell to repair it for you. Offer them a tip + the mat, but the tip (1-2k) up in your bazaar, offering to repair the item that is broken. Pretty sure you can't have it equipped to offer it, so switch your class before you try to find someone.
You could also of course raise Woodworking up to do it yourself, which is what I'm highly considering doing.
It's the starting bow, so I'm going to assume I can't trade it with anyone (not that I know how to open a bazaar in the first place).
Looks like I have to learn carpentry. :saddowns:
What level do you have to be to repair stuff. I'm the craftsman in my group and I have yet to find out the way how. I've been crafting like crazy since I got this game. The satisfaction of saying "I built that" is awesome.
