Give it a try after the November update. The game should be running pretty smoothly around then. It's not bad now, but you might enjoy it a lot more if you wait.

How's everyones progress? I tried Pugilist out today to get Second Wind for my Lancer. Ended up leveling it to 7.
My main is rank 17/physical 19 (almost 20). I'm enjoying the main storyline so far. Looking forward to the next quest set at 20.
Rank 20 ARC Phys level 25 for me, can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of the storyline myself tbh.
It's a pretty solid game. It just needs adjustments. The November update should really improve the game.

Imo the biggest thing that needs tweaking has to be the skillpoint gain system, it took me most of last week just to get to rank 20 for christsake.
It seems like good SP per kill is a bit too random.
lately I've been looking at MMORPG's and their designs for some reason. (not really into playing MMO's)
the character designs in this look good compared to other Japanese MMORPG's (and Korean, but this is Japanese) which doesn't seem serious at all
The game looks really nice. Facial expressions are great during cutscenes. And the voice acting too.

Not only is he one of our Group's most accomplished and experienced members, Naoki Yoshida is also a charismatic leader possessing the skill to bring together and effectively helm a team which encompasses a wide range of responsibilities. We also welcome several new leaders handpicked from other projects to work with the existing talent on FINAL FANTASY XIV.

[Future Version Updates]

While improvements are already well underway in many areas, we were unfortunately not able to incorporate player feedback as quickly as we would have liked. tl;dr people got fired for making lots of things suck, replaced with a competent team and until they decide they 'fix' the game to the new devs liking, subscription will remain free.
Subscription is free? So no monthly payments?
they've been extending it this whole time. I remember getting an email about them extending the 1 month included subscription time to 2, and now this hit. From the sound of things, they'll take some time on this so it'll at least be free for the next couple months. I bet they'll probably postpone the PS3 release until the devs have a much more satisfactory product, which should be when we start getting charged again.
Does this mean I can finally try it now?
