Just checked all my emails and its a no go for me :(.
just got my beta invite :smug:
It's downloading really damn slow for me. Only getting 40Kb/s right now. :frown:
I HAVENT GOT MY BEtA INVITE SHIT
I wish it was free-to-play. :(
I'm surprised there hasn't been any videos of the beta being posted on Youtube or anything. Any reason for that?
I'm surprised there hasn't been any videos of the beta being posted on Youtube or anything. Any reason for that?
NDA, and I suppose they're removing the ones uploaded on youtube.
NDA, and I suppose they're removing the ones uploaded on youtube.
Eh that sucks. You'd think they'd find some way to put videos on the internet like this. Well I probably shouldn't be talking about it...
just got my beta invite :smug:
Um I think they just mistyped and meant to send that to Benji rather than kenji.
Sure? We can just swap places, ill have the admin powers and you can have my beta? ;D
Funny, I got beta invite as well. See you in-game!
My downloads going so slow, its going into the bytes per second area now :(. Does anyone know if you close the updater will it continue updating from where I closed it (currently on 18.6%) or will it restart from 0?
Any one want to share an account with a trustworthy 05 member? Worth a shot :(
For those who are downloading and its really slow: Close the client before you do this and make sure its fully closed. Locate and open the .torrent file with utorrent or whatever you use The directory mine was in was C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\d96437e6\patch When it opens in your client make sure you save it to this directory C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads Mines doing it alot quicker now but dunno if it'll be the same for everyone.
HAHA yes! Got a beta invite, this is the first beta I've gotten into that I haven't had to pay for, as in pre ordering the game.

What are the times for the beta? They run off the alpha schedule, I think, but I don't remember what the times were. EDIT: Nevermind. God this games runs bad tho. Way worse than the first day.
Bejeebus the framerate is terrible, pretty lookin' game though. Feels sluggish and slow overall, and mobs that one-shot you lingering near the tiny stuff you grind on ;<
Well I started downloading early Tuesday morning, left it on all day and all last night, got up and it said it timed out on 99%. Awesome.
What time are the servers up for EU testers? I can't login to the test site for some reason.
Finally it's finished downloading, had to use utorrent. Why on earth does it go at 30Kb/s on their downloader yet in utorrent I was getting 300-400Kb/s?
Bah, the server uptimes are so unclear almost impossible to know when It's up and when It's not :(
It took me ages but I managed to login and went through all the character customization and as I clicked create I got disconnected and wasn't able to get back on. :frown:
The benchmark handles like crap on my PC, so I think getting a new GPU is in order. I scored 720 at 1280x720 btw, my monitor is actually 1920x1080 so...
The anticipation is killing me. :byodood:
ffxivboot.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. How do I fix this? I even removed everything related to ffxiv and SE in registry and empty folders relating to SE and ffxiv.
Anyone want to share their beta account with me :v: [editline]04:25PM[/editline] (of if anyone gets an invite that is no longer interested in this game, I would be most grateful)
I scored a 2100 - though I suspect that benchmark is DEFINITELY not optimized. If you're getting 1500+, trust me, you'll be able to play on normal settings easily. One of my friends runs alpha on max settings (keep in mind alpha is not optimized either) and pulled a 1505 on that benchmark. As long as your fps is good and the benchmark sequence looks clear, you'll be A-OK for the game release.

There's optimization issues. Some people with incredible PC builds have been getting bad scores.
Uhh, yeah. I have an 8600 GT. :downs: Also it's still beta, so i'm not gonna pass judgement until I see what the performance is like in the retail version firsthand.
So what is the point of these test schedules? Every beta I've been in has had open servers for the duration... just weird.
