[QUOTE=Rubs10;18712560]You get your own airship and you do shit like pirate or fight off pirates and trade cargo and other stuff. Except it would be in first or third person and you actually get to walk around your airship and stuff.
Something like this.

Oh god that picture! It's from the novel 'Airborn' or its sequel, I'm not sure.
Anyway, if I designed a game it'd be a story-driven third person science fiction RPG set in a dystopian city in the future. It'd be more classic RPG style... Not overly complicated, not about finger-twitching action... Think Dreamfall when I talk about this (only with a much more open environment... Not open world, but not totally linear either). The main focus would be the story; It'd be like living a book or movie. That's what I'd design. Most modern games neglect story so so much (Borderlands for example: It's a great game imo, but I'm still pissed off that they decided to near enough forget the story in the end).
Year 4100, a solar flare strikes and burns off all life on Earth. It's more resembling Mars or Venus now.
The creations of humanity are all that are left. AKA sentient robots.
And even that isn't going to last long, legions of machines fight amongst each other to ensure their own survival. Great warmongers controlling a billion entities at once send endless waves of expendable robots at one another. Massive battlefields and sieges are waged day after day.
Basically, you play as one of these warmongers, use tactics or plain brute force to beat the enemy. Operating from a bird's eye view, you send your forces against the enemy's fortress-factories, and capture them to give you access to them, or destroy them. Tank battalions, long range artillery, and legions of expendable sentient robots are at your disposal.
You can construct super units, ranging from enormous artillery battery, to a titanic walker. Special units and vehicles for building defenses and static guns. Gouge trenches into the earth or dig huge tunnels under the enemy's defenses.
Also, human artifacts are scattered around the planet, and capturing one will unlock some very great weapons of destruction.
A survival horror game where you are the only person, and you have amnesia (OH CLICHE BUT WAIT), so you can't remember why you were the last person on the earth. There are alternate story paths that offer theoretical proposition as to why it happened, so you can change the story in a way. Then it would have a fear system similar to Eternal Darkness, because the more your character got scared the more weird ass in-game shit would happen. The fear would be built off of random things happening to the world around you, and the more you notice the more freaked out you get.
A game where you wake up in an asylum cell. Then, when you get out after an "Escape the Room" type puzzle, the door opens up into a field. A little girl walks up to you (The character narrates that she seems vaguely familiar) and you follow her around. Eventually, you get up to a tree with a swing on it. The little girl sits. When you first push her, the screen glitches, and it shows you pushing a guard off of a tower. Things like this happen quite a bit, like cutting down a tree for some reason, you'd be chopping up some guy. The basic premise is that you play as a guy who THINKS he is sane, but the game proves otherwise over time. Eventually, the little girl tells you that something strange happened, so you go to investigate. When you get to the area of the thing, a most peculiar thing happens. A monster jumps out, kills the girl, and you have to escape through a metal hallway that appeared near where you started. When you get there, you run through, kill a guy, and there are no more things like that. You've broken your insanity, but you're a murderer. The game would have multiple endings, such as the monster returning and killing you, or becoming insane again, and being locked up once more. Or even escaping, and living happily ever after. In this ending, you would live in an apartment somewhere. The camera leaves your eyes, backs out through the door, and looks left. A shining, almost ghostlike little girl sits there, crying. The thing is is that the girl is your daughter, and she was killed by a mass murderer (Thus "monster"). Rate agree if you think this would be fun.
Also, another kind of game where you're just in some dreamscape with warped, strange landscape, strange creatures, and things that defy physical laws. This one isn't done yet, but I'm working on it.
If you guys want to comment on my first idea, such as ideas or improvements on parts that make no sense, or things like that.
A game where you fall of of a cliff into a giant hole that never ends. you have a parachute and while going down you must shoot evil lightning monsters that trying to electrocute you. it has tons of different guns including. The Jacob Gun(Shoots Jacob Black's Chest Hairs that instantly kill), the AK47, M16, and the "kitty cannon"
My DREAM game, I know this wouldn't be practical or possible but it'd be pretty awesome.
To start with, you can choose any area from google maps, it can be as big or small as you want, and it would be fully mapped - once you have chosen an area you like - the game begins, and the story varies depending on what country and which part of that country you are in. One such example could be in Russia, where you are stuck in the middle of a riot as a police guard or a civillian, or any other thing that pops to mind. There would be an infinite number of possibilities to do things, rolling, diving, jumping, grappling - anything you can think of. In this particular case, you will be part of the SWAT, culling down a rebellion using deadly force - a story would be made up for every outcome - for this you could die, your family could be taken hostage, you could be taken hostage by terrorists, you could even see the rebels ways and revert to there side. The story isn't limited and has a different outcome every time.
As for multiplayer, it would be the same but without the story - the host would pick a part of the world on google maps, and pick a scenario - such scenarios could be:
-A fullscale war
-A riot
-A terrorist attack
-A bomb threat
-And others....
Another multiplayer mode would be co-op, which is basically the same as singleplayer. Also each time you start a new game in singleplayer you can fully customise your person - depending on the scenario different things will be available, such examples would be a SWAT member would be able to choose between a riot shield, gun, or baton, and would have armor choices unavailable to others. Where as a terrorist would have much more rag tag gear, rags , AK-47's, machetes and other improvised weapons.
And of course the maps would be exactly accurate to the real world, meaning if you chose your house, you could simply walk into it and set up positions.
Oh well, at least I can dream.
Doom 4
Interstate 76 or 82's gameplay + Carmageddon 2 styled car destruction + FUEL's world and graphics.
Would probably be one of the only games I played if it came out.
An MMORPS(Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Shooter). I want you to level up, and be in a standard WoW kinda open worldness, but all fast paced action.
Castlevania Symphony of the Night-ish game where it is set in the future and you play as Richter who now has eternal youth. It should have lasers and stuff and have the same ability to be able to use the enemies' abilities, like in Castlevania Aria of Sorrow.
A dogfighting game that has all the stuff of other games just in the air. Like Capture the flag, dude can fly his plane and land ON a zeplin and go inside it while the other team tries to stop him. Kinda like a mix of Battlefront 2 space battle but in the theme of Crimson Skies.
I would make a game that was pretty much picturewars. It would be rather similar to Cortex Command (pixel physics,
but would be signifagantly different.
First of all, it would be turnbased instead of realtime. This allows for players to
line up their attacks and moves well.
Second, play would be lobby-based online multiplayer. This would allow for many players to play at once, similar to
a real picturewars game.
Third, maps would be very easy to make. You could import any sprite and the
game would create a physics map for that. Then, you could place them and create anything imaginable.
Finally, unit or army creation would be a snap. You would just simply draw your unit and open up an editor. There, you
would choose a basic archetype (infantry, VTOL, mech, boat...) and designate certain parts (like arm, leg, rotor or engine, gun turret.)
Then, you enter any special attributes (like infestation) and the game generates a unit based on the sprite. This would make unit-creation
almost as easy as normal picturewars.
Pipe dreams, pipe dreams.
Take GTA IV. Add GMod, LittleBigPlanet, Skate 2, destructible everything. Mix it up. Release.
A game where you work in a concentration camp and it would be highly offensive and shit. So like you would sparta kick people into the ovens and it would yell MONSTER KILL and go slow motion and watch them burn in a pile of bodies. It would be like a more over the top version of Postal 2 with jews and you were a nazi.
2d side scrolling action game where most of the environment is destroyable, you have psychic powers, and you can use anything as a weapon.
It's Cortex Command+Dead Rising+Gmod

How am I late?
Also, a game where something happens, and it loosely follows a story. Even if you die, the story continues. The game becomes like a movie, with a chance of a happy ending, or not, randomized scenes, possible battles, your allies fighting and such things. There would be randomized kill moves (I've got an idea on how that would work. If the player does the kill moves, it goes in slow motion and you can rotate your weapon so that it kills your way. If it's an NPC, it would be using endorphin, so it would generate animations on the fly. The behavior would make the npc attack with a pull behavior, making it bring it's weapon into the npc. The weapon would also shift when it enters a certain area near the guy getting killed.) Your friends and family could be caught, npcs could be executed after being captured. Some npcs could become the main character, and you could take control of them, if you so choose. Also, back to the playing part. There would be a realistic (ish) gore and blood system with realistic weapons. Say you attempt to stab a guy. If you hit, the blade might go into him, possibly stabbing organs. Then, if you're strong enough, you could move the blade up and down, cutting through them. You could take out their organs afterwards, possibly even when they are still standing. Things like this would decrease the morale of your enemies, making them run away if they think they can't beat you. Same with your teammates. Also, there would be blood decals where you cut, leaving a mark wherever your weapon goes. Also, if you cut through a person, where the blade comes out the other way, there would be a little emitter where the cut ended. If the emitter touches a surface, it leaves a trail of blood. So, if you stabbed a guy all the way through, and he fell back into a wall, and slid down, there would be a trail of blood there. There are more things, but I have to eat now.

Oh, and randomized powers. You could grow ice out of your wrist, or something. The powers could be chosen from a list, and applied to a random body part.
Also, there would be people like you, so you would have challenging fights.
