I played CoD3 and it had an OK campaign, slightly intereseting, but it didn't have any interesting characters worth remembering. Not like in CoD1, where you would remember every soldier you fought with.

Okay, I misread the CoD 3 part, but still, the game is fine.

I never played the first. I only tried CoD2, CoD 5, MW and MW2. I think I might try the first one once, but I don't know.

To summarise this thread; Call of Duty and United Offensive were the best in the series. Anything after it declined in quality on a linear downwards gradient.

I used to think that CoD2 was the best ww2 CoD, and that WaW couldn't even touch it with a 10 foot barge pole. But then I took off my nostalgia goggles, gave it another go, and now WaW is fucking incredible. I see all these comments on the internet saying things like "I still havn't forgiven treyarch for waw". Why? Campaign was, by definition, epic (russian levels were at least), and the multiplayer is damn fun. UNLESS an MP40 comes along.

I agree with you Asmaedus. I love WaW and COD2 the most out of the series. COD2 is the best European Theatre of the WW2 series and WaW is the best all around WW2 game in the series. I think I spent the more hours playing WaW than I did COD4:MW because it felt like a much more rounded game.

Call of Duty 1 was the best. Although that might be just nostalgia. COD2 is still balls-to-the-wall awesome though, I played it again just a few weeks ago. And I don't even remember playing CoD3.
