Reminds me of a Famas.
See I wasn't expecting much Haloness from the cinematic trailer. Although it was cool and all it wasn't very Halo-y. It was more Halo Warsy and I was disappointed. But now I am not. This really does look like it's going to be good. [editline]5th March 2012[/editline] ...I hope.
Reminds me of a Famas.
Yeah. More FAMAS-y, less XM8-y. I like it.
I hope the Spartan IV's can jump higher than the III's.
Anyone else play gamemodes like Alpha Omega, fat kid and such on Halo 3? The custom games were the funnest aspect of Halo 3. I have in my record on Bungie.net 1700 matchmade games and 4900 custom games on Halo 3. :v:
Eh, it looks alright, but I'm still hesitant. Its the first we've seen from it, so I'll hold off on judgement for now.
Also, the new helmet looks a bit like Hayabusa if you squint hard enough and pour acid in your eyes.
Didn't Halo Wars have mechs?
Yes, for fighting buildings. As I recall they were repurposed suits that were originally meant for construction.
I hope the Spartan IV's can jump higher than the III's.
Well in-lore they're adult volunteers with some augmentations and a fancy new suit of armor
Well, I'm fucking pleased.
or maybe it's just a light retcon, gun models do need to be updated with time
Agreed, its called the BR55HB which was the name of the one in Halo 3. I prefer this new one anyway. Spartan IVs? Ok im interested.
Spartan IVs? Do they exist?
No but they will.
Spartan IVs? Do they exist?
They do now! Im assuming this is a few good years after Halo 3 if they already have IV's
Spartan IVs? Do they exist?
I think they do as of Glasslands
I think they do as of Glasslands
They do. The S4 program starts up as a way to field a massive army of pseudo-Spartans (think S3s). It's all volunteer.
They do. The S4 program starts up as a way to field a massive army of pseudo-Spartans (think S3s). It's all volunteer.
You know Arachnidus, you're our resident Halo book expert :v:
I think they do as of Glasslands
I still need to pick up that book.
You know Arachnidus, you're our resident Halo book expert :v:
I've read most the Halo novels myself, but it's been some time ago.
You know Arachnidus, you're our resident Halo book expert :v:
I like to think my wealth of reading acquired knowledge comes in handy :D Now, if only I could have finished A Game of Thrones before Season 2. Now that ME3 is coming out, I'll never be able to finish the last 15% of the first book and get started on the next. With Halo 4 on the horizon, I fear even less productivity (I have this feeling we'll see a beta).
Spartan IVs are just for MP they said, so no need to worry about it interfering with the story. Other than the Chiefs armour, lets just assume that Forward onto Dawn had prototype weaponry.

One does not simply take a few assault rifles to The Ark, especially when the majority of the Covenant armada, the entirety of the Flood and the control center to ancient super weapons that would eradicate all life in the galaxy, happen to be there.
I actually really hate the new BR design. It looks like a repainted nerf gun, or something out of Tribes. Halo's weapon aesthetic appealed to me personally because it's sci fi design emphasized curves more than blocks. Now we have a fucking square sight. I used to dislike the armor, but it's growing on me. I like that they brought back the knuckle plating from the Halo 1 first person model, and the new underarmor's bumpy texture looks awesome.
The new ViDoc made me dig through my old Halo videos, found this;
It's shit like that that makes me love this series.
It's shit like that that makes me love this series.
I couldn't agree more. Moments like these are what make Halo maybe the best MP I've played.
The HUD in Halo 4 is surprisingly good, it might easily end up as my favourite Halo HUD. It's like a Metro style clean Halo 3 HUD.
Those new BR sounds are a bit unsatisfying too. I was thinking from that recording vidoc that they'd have battlefield quality audio. The BRs sound like the rifles in Blacklight: Retribution. Gah, I wish they let us hear more when they were talking about the audio design.
So guys, I've decided to paint a Halo painting this week. You can suggest motive, absolutely whatever you want, and if I like it I'll paint it. Anything Halo related.

Just imagine a team of Spartans IV's being led by Master Chief about to kick the shit out of some Sentinel Enforcers.
