NeoGAF post about Specializations:
Meh. I seldom enter these MP design change panics, having frequented both halo2sucks.com AND DopeyFish posts - and I get you guys are frustrated about how information is parceled out, which is a combination of our schedule, marketing realpolitik and an evolution of the media you read and watch stuff on, but really, this one: a) will be clarified tomorrow, at least semantically. Experiential clarification requires play, which lots of people including people LIKE YOU have tried and come to the same conclusion as me which is... b) It affects your style of play far more than the overall playfield. To me - and don't get me wrong, I realize in some playlists people will be tinkering and adjusting until a balance is established - the difference feels akin to changing a control scheme, as opposed to loading out your Defender spaceship with 100 smart bombs. c) Is super fun and playlist dependent.

Yeah, not going to happen. I respect the IP of Halo, and abide by the commitments I make.
Good for you, me too. I thought the joke was obvious, guess one should always use emoticons in the Internet with these kind of things. I assume these secrets you know will always stay with you, even after the release?
NeoGAF post about Specializations:
Well either it means they lock out some classes because of a unique playlist or it means that some classes will excel where others won't benefit you much depending on the game type.
I started an interesting discussion with a friend regarding Star Wars Tech vs Halo after reading the "Kinetic Weapons Are Just Better" page on tvtropes. Arguably while the Star Wars universe has more advanced then the Halo universe, Star Wars tech was made to defend against energy based weaponry, not kinetic. Heck, in Star Wars lore, while Projectile weapons (called "Slugthrowers") exist they're not wide spread, but evidently are effective against Stormtrooper armour (which really isn't effective against anything, see: Ewoks) Like wise, Starships in Star Wars have Ray shields, but only protect from objects like space debris they would possibly hit while moving in normal space. With this in mind, a MAC round could easily tear through all hull of a ship in the Star Wars universe, and any other high velocity projectile based UNSC weapon could damage them. Now the Covenant races tech being designed around energy based weapons and defences might find it harder to fight against the Star Wars forces since they are also designed around energy based weapons and defences. Now, a majority, if any, UNSC ships do not have energy shields, so Turbolaser fire would eventually erode the hull (Heavy Turbolasers could possibly tear right through) on their ships, but the same could be said about the UNSC ship to ship weapons against Star Wars ships, since as stated earlier would not defend against high velocity rounds. Also keep in mind, while Star Wars weapons are referred to as 'Lasers' they're not actually lasers in a conventional sense, they are plasma based like Covenant weaponry, http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Laser
Stormtrooper armor is actually alot stronger in the books and RPG sets then what the movies show. Its normally the best thing anyone could get. If you read some stuff about the Katana armor (Clone commando armor...might not be the right name). In one of the books one of the commandos jumped onto a live grenade to save the others, it went boom and the clone was intact as well as the armor and they kept fighting. In Starwars Vs Halo technology discussion I think starwars would have a few edges over halo and vice versa. Its somewhat hard to say which would win. [editline]15th August 2012[/editline] Starwars also have ion cannons which would be somewhat of a nightmare to Halo as well as overall superior fighters...and lets not get started they have kinds of super weapons that make the Nuclear warhead look like a hand grenade. (Baradium, hypermatter...antimatter..) [editline]15th August 2012[/editline] But then they have halo rings...bleh
So I loaded up Halo Reach for the first time in months to play some action sack. rip in peace
Who would win in a fight, the Death Star or a Forerunner Dreadnaught?
So I loaded up Halo Reach for the first time in months to play some action sack. rip in peace
I was disappointed not to see it either. They still have Grifball though which I love.
“This also allows you to recharge the health of a vehicle a little faster. It won’t be [super] fast, but if you can get out of harm’s way, you’re going to recharge the vehicle’s health faster than you would otherwise.” I found that quite interesting. Vehicles actually slightly repair themselves now, kind of like in BF3.

For anyone who lives in eastern Ontario, Halo 4 will be Playable at Fan Expo in Toronto. Also pisses me off because I just moved from Ontario in June, I had plans to go to Fan Expo, but obviously they changed because of the move.
Wow they really fucked up the playlists in this latest update, no Squad DLC or Anniversary BTB (up to 4 local players on both)? Get to fuck, 343. The only time I played this game anymore was when I had two friends over, but now that two of our three favourite playlists are gone, I guess we'll just have to play fucking Minecraft. [editline]15th August 2012[/editline] Oh yeah, no Action Sack, good one you fucking numpties
Yeah and they moved and kept all the good gametypes to only TU which sucks.

I think Reach's TU is the only thing 343 has truly gotten wrong so far My post count is now binary
My post count is now binary
You're not allowed to post anymore, robro [editline]15th August 2012[/editline] Anyone want a firefall beta key? PM me a random word, and if I like that word you get one.
We should all speak in binary. Nah, that would be stupid. Lets all talk in Forerunner.
Lets all talk in Forerunner.
So English-ish? Or just in random symbols?
Anyone miss Waterworks? I loved that map :}
Nothing to miss, I played it earlier.
Nothing to miss, I played it earlier.
Is this a confirmation that it's in Halo 4 or did you play Halo 2?
Is this a confirmation that it's in Halo 4 or did you play Halo 2?
I was playing Halo 2 PC. But there is a map that kindof reminds of waterworks, mixed with a different map in 4. The next playtest I am scheduled for is the 31st. Hoping I get access this friday though.
Also, new IGN video with campaign footage, looks like we'll be driving mechs and giant Elephants in the campaign! http://www.ign.com/videos/2012/08/15/making-of-halo-4
The facial animations are fucking beautiful! Part of me wishes I didn't opt out for Campaign playtesting. But I know it's worth the wait. I can't tell, is there any new footage, or is this just the same video from Comic Con, but without the narration?

the game looks fucking beautiful
the game looks fucking beautiful
I don't really know what to think of the graphics at the moment since a lot of the stuff that was shown off by other people that weren't 343i had the game looking a bit bleh.
like who
I don't really know what to think of the graphics at the moment since a lot of the stuff that was shown off by other people that weren't 343i had the game looking a bit bleh.
This is the best looking game on Xbox, simple as that. I play the game 3-4 times a month, everyone who says otherwise has not played it. You don't need to play it to see how good it looks.
like who
Just some screen caps I saw at E3 and in some of the official trailers.
This is the best looking game on Xbox, simple as that.
