we'll probably see the FUD like once at the beginning and then the new "big awesome spaceship" will be the infinity. [editline]18th August 2012[/editline]
Really Spartan? Please tell me you know about the events of post Halo 3.
probably agreeing with the second half. he IS right, kind of. Post Halo 2 and during Halo 3 the elites and the UNSC did have a sort of truce but he's misinformed of the plot of Halo 4 prolly, being on a different world and all
i dont get why everyone is making such a big deal over the forward unto dawn retcon
It doesn't make any sense continuity wise, but then again, it's just a video game. [editline]17th August 2012[/editline] Wow, this thread's moving a lot faster these days.
[t]http://media1.gameinformer.com/imagefeed/screenshots/Halo4/Halo4_UNSC-Warthog-08_tif_jpgcopy.jpg[/t]
I really like the new design I just don't care for the dashboard or the roll bars.
Really Spartan? Please tell me you know about the events of post Halo 3.
What is a Halo 3? Nah I'm just kidding, I was only agreeing with the second half and you guys really need to lighten up about people not knowing Halo lore.
To fill you in: The alliance with the Elites has, as of the most recent novel, turned into what's effectively a tenuous ceasefire. Really, none of the races are powerful enough to fight an open war against one another, but the UNSC stands as the dominant force (rather ironic considering the events of the last 25 or so years)- especially since they already reverse engineered salvaged Covie and, more importantly, Forerunner technology. To that end, the sangheili and humanity are engaging in talks, but ONI is using a black ops squad (including a Spartan and a full squad that's nearly as likable as The Squad from ODST) to destabilize the sangheili state so that no one faction can gain control and assert dominance- at least, not until the UNSC can take what happened during the Covenant war and reverse it. The Arbiter is the defacto leader of the Elites, but there are several factions that want to see that changed, and ONI is selling them weapons and supplies in order to keep the infighting going. [editline]18th August 2012[/editline] Really, to understand what the UNSC is doing, think US Cold War tactics.
do we have any news if we are gonna be using the BR or DMR in swat?
do we have any news if we are gonna be using the BR or DMR in swat?
Officially, nothing. Unofficially, I have play tested a few variants of swat. BR's, DMR's, both. No clue what will make it into the game though.
Officially, nothing. Unofficially, I have play tested a few variants of swat. BR's, DMR's, both. No clue what will make it into the game though.
Maybe all 3 will make it into the game as diffrent variations.
The roll bars on the warthog will now explain 99% of all warthog related incidents

Oh shit Im loving that armour. [editline]18th August 2012[/editline]
(including a Spartan and a full squad that's nearly as likable as The Squad from ODST)
I think I actually prefer Kilo-5 to The Squad from ODST, their different backgrounds makes them interact well with each other. I really like the character of Serin Osman as shes one of the only Spartan drop outs we ever see again, other than Fhajad, it was sad to see that none of the Spartans recognise her though.
so...no ones gonna throw out a MLP joke at the console armour? or a Robot unicorn attack? Eh fine then. Looking forward to playing with it Im trading my cousin some MS points for the armor and getting limited edition myself...what? I like having all the armours ;-;

In my opinion I dont really like much of the newer variants and prefer the older things. Do you think they'll remake or keep the older variants of armor for multiplayer use? I liked the look of the large orange visors and such like IV and V, ODST and such and dislike the Spartan 4 armor.
Halo 4 has been moving towards this style ever since Reach, you'll notice how Halo: Reach is more gritty and realistic compared to the covenant's bright and shiny colours, it's a juxtaposition they're merely emphasising in Halo 4 - UNSC = Gritty war built machinery designed to be rugged and useful in combat (I know the warthog is a terrible vehicle) while the Elites designed their things probably because they'd perfected their designs enough to manufacture it to look decent (I know - practicality > design) Halo 4 is the next phase in Halo's evolution, and it's not a shock to see it arrive. Plus it keeps the series from going stale graphically (See: Gears of War)
do we have any news if we are gonna be using the BR or DMR in swat?
Maybe when we vote there will be different options like SWAT BR or SWAT DMR.

Camofluage is useless when you have no intention of not being seen, Elites like to be seen doing what they're doing as a sense of pride, if they dont want to be seen then they have their active camoflauge.
You know what's gonna be awesome? The day Halo 4 comes out, and we all play MP together after we spent all fucking morning playing and beating the campaign. If you guys do that like I do. I go to midnight launch early enough to get there first in line, which is about 8:30-9:00 bring extended battery for my phone, Netflix it up until 10:30. After I get my copy I fly home, install that shit on my HDD, then play such Halo's Campaign by myself, or CO-OP until it's done. After that I proceed to play MP until I pass the fuck out. But yeah, i'm totallly thinking we all get together on Matchmaking or custom matches, and just fucking play Halo 4. Dibs on Tuskin, Kombat, Pixel, Arachnidus, and Respawn on my team!
Sounds like it could be fun.
What ever happened to catching up guys?! :P
What ever happened to catching up guys?! :P
Son of a bitch. But yeah we should play multiplayer till our thumbs bleed, wait for the wounds to clot, then play some more. If I go blind from the TV, I can be blind knowing I got to play Halo 4. I would be honoured to be part of your A-team.

I'm the kind of nerdy weirdo who has to take a minute to appreciate every detail of the gameplay and scenery because I overanalyze everything. I WANT TO BE NORMAL
I would be honoured to be part of your A-team.
More like, half a sleep face twitching from amount of caffeine-team
I hope I get to play against you guys!
Already figured you'd lead team 2. Which is why I didn't call dibs on you. :P
I have mixed feelings about it, since the place where I get my copies usually gives us the ability to pick the game up around 5PM on the day before release, which is cool, but I never get anything like awesome midnight release parties.
More like, half a sleep face twitching from amount of caffeine-team
Borderline stroke team.
You can always preorder at a place that has a midnight event.
None in my city, and this one has a nice pricetag. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that the LE was 75 euros instead of 100, while regular games still go for 60 at launch.
I find both funny and cool how the Halo 4 UNSC Marines got MOLLE vests. (In some of the pictures) Sure, more pouches with ammo but what about Plasma damage?
I officially have enough money for the standard ed. of Halo 4 :D
