Just played a bit of CE:A for the first time.
Split screen with my brother.
We were doing the exact same shit the first time we played Halo 1 together.
If that wasn't nostalgia, I don't know what is.
Y'know.
I think 343 should just scrap the AR in Halo 4 and put full auto in as a firemode for the BR. (And of course adding support for firemodes on guns)
It'd make it a hell of a lot simpler. They are practically the same gun with different firerates, and having to hold both to have a different firerate takes up inventory space that could be used for a power weapon. Plus the BR looks cooler in Halo 4 anyway.
iirc the battle rifle family uses more powerful rounds than the assault rifle family, so that sounds like a good way to completely ruin multiplayer.
it would be cool to see that in campaign though.

I don't think you understand the idea behind Halo's weapons.
Don't mind me, just fucking around with WebM. Hopefully you all have Chrome or Firefox if that works.

whoa look at that google magic
It's cool but it's pretty loud. :(

They got rid of the Assault rifle in Halo 2, and look how that pissed people off.
Although the SMG was pratically exactly the same as the Halo 1 assault rifle.
The SMG needs to come back, I loved it in Halo 3, in close quarters a single SMG would beat an Assault Rifle in you knew what you were doing.

The SMG was my best bud in Halo 3.

Duel-wielding the SMG and the Plasma Rifle was my favorite combo in the series.
I could never stand mixing the two, I'd have to use 2 of one or 3 of the other.
Plasma pistol + pistol was pretty great. Two shots and your enemy was down. "The noob combo" I believe it was dubbed.
I thought the noob combo was Plasma Pistol and Battle Rifle. Take out the shields with the plasma pistol and immediately switch to the BR for an instant kill with a headshot.

The pistol + PP was a less used noob combo but yeah the BR and PP is the most commonly used.
Pistol + PP was the quickest kill though because you could dual wield.
Finally got gold again. Still dominating in the Team Slayer playlist (normal Reach, not TU Reach)
I tried Super Slayer, but it just isn't working out for me.

Also, I am finally a General.
Hey guys remember that level in Halo 3 when you retrieve Cortana and then you have to make a mad dash back out the infested ship with like hordes of flood after you? Four player legendary on that shit is so much fun! Everyone is just yelling at the top of their lungs and is everyone for themselves, the ones that strayed behind got gobbled up. I wish I can relive that moment but none of my friends play it anymore.
I'm loving the heavy BTB games. Players are rarely required to find a suitable weapons for a a given situation, they usually just stick to what they have or gravitate towards the power weapons.
I just realized something...I never finished Halo: ODST's Vidmaster Challenge Deja Vu.
I must accomplish this.
Just finished the Mass Effect trilogy and I wanted more adventuring in space so I started playing Halo CE again! After that, it's Halo 2, 3 and Reach. No ODST, don't own it and frankly, the campaign seemed a bit boring when I got the play the first half an hour or so of it.
Oh man, all the memories!
Only one I don't own is Halo 2.
Just realised the other day that I got Halo CEA for Christmas yet I had not even got past the second level.
After playing it for like 10 minutes it dawned on my that the reason I haven't played it is because it's the same Halo that I've played a billion times before.
Kinda wish that I could get though it but I don't think that's gonna happen.

You have a strange definition of fun.

I got it back in november, havent bothered to go past Truth and Reconcilitation, I guess its because I did it on PC not long ago.

I'm having a fairly hard time playing through the original CE since the campaign is, frankly, pretty fucking repetitive. And I've played it through tons of times.
Maybe I'll actually skip the first game and start with Halo 2. That one I've finished only once or twice.
I was trying to beat Halo 2 on Heroic on the PC (it felt easier then Halo 1 Heroic) but I couldn't get past the Arbiters final level. I tried and tried and tried. I don't remember where I got stuck but it frustrated me to hell.
Sadly my Halo 2 disc is scratched up so I can't play it.
I completed Halo 2 on legendary and I have to say that it's the hardest one to date. Even on the first level you get sexually harassed by a giant gangbang of elites that keeps streaming out of those boarding ships, killing you in ~4 plasma bolts while you have to either stick them twice before they recharge, or just use the noob combo. Seriously, the campaign is impossible without the PP+BR.
A friend of mine picked up Reach the other day, and we've been playing 3 player co-op with that. Super fun. Myself and my friend get the most points but that's just because my girlfriend gets lost easily, never knowing where to go or how to get there lol. I just need to force him into buying the rest of the games. He had Anniversary, but traded it in. Now he regrets it...dummy.

I hated the SMG. It was more spray and pray than anything. The Assault Rifle felt right in every way. When I held the SMG I just felt silly.

Then you're doing it wrong.

I had no idea where that one second of audio was coming from when I opened this page. How did you do that?
While Cragmire is definitely my favorite map in Halo Reach, I think people are voting for it and BTB Heavies in general too much. I miss objective games.
