They have more detail in their scales, so what? So because they have scales they're inspired by the locust?
They have more detail in their scales, so what? So because they have scales they're inspired by the locust?
Their skin matches the Locusts from GoW and their amour matches stuff from Unreal Tournament.
For comparison:

Now compare the Elite to the naked Arbiter.

I mean come on you can at least see some similarity.
I've played both those games, I don't see the resemblance.
GUY! 343 put more assets in the elite renders! They are now locust.
Whats wrong with how the Elites are now?
The Elites have always been far more interesting to me than anything else in Halo. They've had the best character(?) arch through the entire series, with the Arbiter learning that the great journy was a lie, and then the subsequent Elite 'revolution' from the Covenant being the highlights. Then comes Halo 4, and I'm supposed to want shoot at them again? No, I don't think that every single sangheili opted out of the 'we hate humans club' at the end of Halo 2, but Halo 2, and to a lesser extent 3, spent a good deal of time enforcing the whole, 'sangheili realized they've been being lied to their entire lives, and are pretty pissed about it' thing, so why would groups of them willingly turn back to the Covenant, or not even leave it in the first place?
Further more, I spent 2 games shutting down the Covenant and exposing its lies, so why are they still around, much less a military threat? Why then, if it is around, are we fighting Elites and not Brutes?
And finally, I personally dislike the fact that they've been removed from multiplayer. Halo 2 had them, and they weren't even technically on your side until halo 3, hell, Reach had them in, and you were actively fighting them then.
Ok so there is some similarity in the skin, but nothing else.
Their skin matches the Locusts from GoW and their amour matches stuff from Unreal Tournament.

So because the elites have similar skin color to them that automaticly makes them Locusts, yep totally understand your logic.:v:
Ok so there is some similarity in the skin, but nothing else.
Fingers are also the same but thank you for at least seeing the resemblance.
So because the elites have similar skin color to them that automaticly makes them Locusts, yep totally understand your logic.:v:
Oh yeah sorry changing the general look to the creaters other works totally does not make them similar what so ever and I should just except that somehow the elites have completely changed and in no way what so ever can look like anything else and I should also just completely forget that the elites have always had brown skin. Yeah totally see your logic there :v:
Elite fingers have always been like that.
Fingers are also the same but thank you for at least seeing the resemblance.
The elites have an entire finger less then the locusts how is that the same?
Elite fingers have always been like that.
Oh, really? Sorry I never noticed.

A lot of the races believed in the Forerunners before the Covenant was formed. Remember it was the Prophets who came up with the 'great journey', they misled the Elites, so the Elites fought back at them. Even after 343 Told the 'heretics' the truth in Halo 4, they still called him an Oracle.
Oh really? Sorry I never noticed.
you can see in the picture you posted of the Arbiter they're long and skinny.
I think they most likely changed the skin tone so that it contrasts with their underlying armour colour, they want the enemies to stand out, and using contrasting colours helps.
A lot of the races believed in the Forerunners before the Covenant came along, maybe they just believed the great journey was a lie, and nothing else?
That works right up until you find out that Humanity was pretty damn close the the Forerunners once, to the point where they are currently the only ones who can activate certain things built by the Forerunners. That fact alone would be reason enough to not continue hostilities with them. Remember when the Prophets found out what HUmanity was? They were terrified, because it proved the whole religion wrong.

Yeah honestly I would like to fight Brutes again they were pretty interesting in Reach.
This is suppose to be explained in the game, so we'll find out the whole truth then.

Too bad the Elites blew the Brutes back into the stone age.

They could always pull something like a small fleet of brutes escaped or were just traveling into space on a secret mission from the Prophets or something.
Yeah honestly I would like to fight Brutes again they were pretty interesting in Reach.
Brutes were used well in reach once, during New Alexandria, because it made sense. Send in the butchers to slaughter everything. Brutes are boring to fight IMO, they just end up being bullet/plasma/spike sponges.

Job well done.
According to the X-Box Magazine issue in August, the Covenant faction (Called 'Storm') still follow the the ways of the Prophets
http://www.examiner.com/article/halo-4-s-storm-covenant-faction-officially-revealed
The ‘Storm’ faction in Halo 4 is a group of Covenant that have broken up with the main body of the newly peaceful Covenant, carrying their Prophets’ ideology and religion with them. Their motive? As of right now details are very sparse, but what little information Official Xbox Magazine did describe is that the faction’s goal is to find a powerful weapon on Requiem.
Maybe they're really REALLY dedicated to their religion. Bah, I don't know. I'll just wait for the game and find out.
OK, that makes no sense at all.
[editline]asa[/editline]
Hey, lets draw a crude depiction of a Prophet and mail it to them, see what happens. :v:
I'm positive it'll be explained in game, there's no way to get their motivation out of 2 sentences, one of which is them saying they don't have much info.
Hey, anyone wanna take bets on how long it will take for [sp] ONI supplying weapons to the Elites that oppose the Arbiter to backfire?[/sp]

Maybe they're just some of the diehards that think mass suicide via the Halos is really how you go on the Great Journey. Or are trying to chase down the Great Journey that either the Librarian or Didact describes in one of the Halo 3 terminals.
Regardless, I'm sure 343 has a good explanation. Something that stupid in any other case has to be easy to avoid.

If Glasslands was any indication, [sp]it already has[/sp].
the only thing i dont like about the new covie weapon sounds is that the needler doesn't sound so graceful anymore

The plasma weapons don't sound very plasma-like either.
The Beam Rifle made me pass out as all the blood rushed from my brain into my penis.
The auto turrets in Dominion look awesome, I always thought the concept was wasted in Reach.

Also, Solace has a sexy skybox.
The halo 4 warthog sounds amazing.
