Too bad most of the Covenant weapons sound like anus. I mean, there are a few decent ones, but as I've said, none of the plasma weapons sound like plasma weapons, and the Needler is just the worst out of them all, in my opinion. Basically, none of the Covie weapons have an alien sound to them anymore, at least compared to past Halo games.

The needler sounds fine. It's firing crystalline shards that [I]explode[/I] in sufficient quantities. I think it sounds good with that bit of a 'clunk' its got behind it. The carbine uses super heated, caseless 8mm rounds fired at super sonic speeds, so you wouldn't get a plasma-y sound out of it any way.

It's just lit from the camera's position. It has nothing to do with the texture.

Also, holy shit, I can't believe it's five years since Halo 3's release. Just played some of the best rounds of my "career", and it feels just as fun as it was when I was in 7th grade.
