Yeah I understand there's supposed to be continuity and all that jazz, but this is a completely new trilogy with a completely new narrative, focus, tone, atmosphere, etc. Changing the art style of the FUD or Chief's armor or Cortana's face/boobs, or the way flood looks is perfectly fine in my book.

Also, another thing on spartan flood.
Spartans are already pretty heavily augmented, so how much would an infection form need to add to it to give it that raw power the combat forms have? A spartan already has that. I would however, expect flood spartans to be incredibly fast and agile.

I love how everyone is arguing about how that's not what Human flood look like, yet those were Spartan Flood. We have no reference to what a Spartan flood form would look like. They are genetically modified and augmented Humans, there are bound to be differences. Not to mention this is only a MP gamemode, it's not a big deal!
But all flood forms have the sensory organs. and are not some super bulked humanoid chitin covered monstrosity.

We also have to consider the change of art direction and artist of the franchise, aswell as a logical, canon reason to their change. To me, they still have that flood vibe, could it be better, of course it could, I do have mixed feeling about how they look. But at the end of the day, it's just a MP gamemode, so i'm not worried about it until the reintroduce the Flood to a future campaign.

Okay so Arachnidus brought up another valid point to me about the Spartan/flood. We don't have a reference point to what a Spartan/Flood hybrid would look like, neither do the UNSC. Infinity multiplayer takes place in a simulation similar to Star Trek Holodeck. Since the UNSC doesn't know what a Spartan/Flood looks like, it was made up.

This is really the only time I'm going to defend Halo 4 so buckle up: The new Art style change is dumb but another way to look at the new Spartan flood form is that with normal forms they have been modified to fit their role but with Spartans you could say they're pretty much perfect for what they're needed for: To kill everything. The only modification they need was for the hands to be able to do damage without the need for a gun so the right hand was modified into something for slashing while the left was left normal to be used for grapple things or do other useful things. Although I would prefer the tentacle arm rather than the crap claw.
