Now this is what I'm talking about. [editline]30th September 2012[/editline] Also Delta calm down you're really driving on my tits with your defensiveness towards Halo
http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1214896&p=37849889&viewfull=1#post37849889 Add Worst fanboy of the year award to my title.
Delta you're drunk, get off FP
Delta you're drunk, get off FP
I'm not drunk... Yet. And when I am I won't be at my computer to post anyway. PUI and TUI ing are things I stopped doing year ago, leads to awkward situations.
this is an awkward situation
Anyways, tomorrow and or Monday is the presumably the last time I will be play testing Halo 4. Anything you guys want me to keep an eye out for?
There goes £50 on the OST Limited Edition, that brings me up to about £110 for Halo 4 now :v:
was half of this page really people not understanding what a remix is oh halo thread never change
you know how it goes unfortunately [editline]30th September 2012[/editline] that moment when you listen to music and all of a sudden YOU'RE LOST ON AN UNKNOWN LAND, FIGHTING TO SAVE THE GALAXY
To be honest as a die hard Halo fan, I really enjoy these remixes. Nemesis has that Halo 4 kind of feel to it.
To be honest as a die hard Halo fan, I really enjoy these remixes. Nemesis has that Halo 4 kind of feel to it.
I agree. Regardless of whether or not it's Halo however, it's still good track to me
Halo is dead to me. Reach never appealed to me (at least not multiplayer, the campaign was fantastic) and I have a hard time believing 343 can really do it right. The first trailer told me pretty much everything I needed to know: They're gonna conform to the growing trend of over-gimmickyness (rocket pistols? Seriously?) and rash fanservice. My brother is buying it and if he tells me it's good I'll borrow it and run through the campaign.
how do i respond to this... this ignorance
You don't
I didn't know the sticky launcher was a gimmick
how do i respond to this... this ignorance
Well he is right in a way. 343i said that they added in killcams and grenade indicators along with other stuff because they saw it as the norm.
I didn't know the sticky launcher was a gimmick
Apparently so. Most people who use the word gimmick dont understand its meaning.
Well he is right in a way. 343i said that they added in killcams and grenade indicators along with other stuff because they saw it as the norm.
Nothing wrong with that. Many games copied COD's ironsights and sprinting or Halo's idea of big sprawling levels with vehicles in an FPS. Or how many have a regen health/shield system just like Halo/COD. Not to say these games invented it, but they were giant successes which made it popular, people naturally look at other work and think "This is a great idea, we should try using it or take inspiration from it". I don't remember many FPS games before COD/Halo having many if any of those features. Its only natural Halo has done this, every game has, even those super new "innovative" games coming out like Dishonored has done this. Big successful titles influence others.

I still don't like the Killcams and grenade indicators though.

I apologize if I worded myself incorrectly, but I am not implying only COD/Halo did things, of course all popular/big games (or ones developer's like personally) would influence it. Personally I don't see the issue with killcams and grenade indicators, grenades are still hard to get away from and have a small fuse, killcams keep gameplay exciting, it prevents people from using stagnant tactics and sitting there, keeps the map flowing and lets players adapt and improve. You as a player can learn what killed you, what he did right and what you did wrong and what tactics, but the map flow has to change, as both of you have to adapt now, he can't just sit there with a sniper and whore out an area.

With snipers in Halo it's pretty easy to spot them since they have really visible bullet trails.
Any and all game mechanics are welcome given the lore allows it.
Any and all game mechanics are welcome given the lore allows it.
I guess it make sense if they're in a simulation and their radar picks up the grenades and shows them the location but I still feel like I'm playing Call of Duty every time the game winning kill is shown.
Because War Games is supposed to be kind of like a video game for Spartans. 343 is getting all meta on us.
Didn't BF1942 also have Ironsights?
Didn't BF1942 also have Ironsights?
Nope, just Zoom-in
Because War Games is supposed to be kind of like a video game for Spartans. 343 is getting all meta on us.
The best part is, it's true. How do you make Halo that much more fleshed out? Give everything a reason. Now that the UNSC has the technology, it's more than acceptable to posit that Infinity has a goddamn holodeck and all the outlandish gametypes we've been working with are simulations. However, I would like to see the explanation for Grifball. That's just damn peculiar.
fuck i just wanna play the game because everyone who has played says it still feels like halo and that's good enough for me arachnidus we are playing this at NYCC and it will be amazing
I personally like kill cams, kind of tells me where I went wrong. They can be a bit irritating if you keep dying all the time though.
You can skip them anyhow
So, does this mean a limited time of invincibility or what? I'm not sure I'm too happy with that, I liked the way it was before where the invincibility was only during the charging sequence.
