Ok I'm probably incredibly late with this but I was just replaying the last few Reach missions
[sp]on the last mission where you're on your own and must survive, why are there a shit load of spartan bodies, or at least spartan armor on the ground? Did I miss something?[/sp]
And in Halo 1-3 is Master Chief considered the last spartan?

It's just symbolic, no actual plot significance. One of Bungie's liberties with the games.
And, for the sake of the games themselves, yes. In the entire universe and, as of Halo 4, not even close. There's a handful of S2s left, a few surviving S3s and entire companies of S4s, as far as we can speculate (we know of a few existing from Halo 4 media and the books).
Oh ok. Was wondering because in Reach I never really thought of Noble as the last six spartans besides the chief (unless other teams died in the game but you had nothing to do with them) And in the first three games no other Spartans are seen.
They aren't, because most of them aren't in a position to aid the arc of the main series. Blue Team and the remaining Spartan 2s that aren't Black Team (who's out in Covie space fucking shit up) were on Earth while the Chief was on Delta Halo, then went to Onyx and were trapped in the Shield World with the surviving S3s. They've all been recently released (just before Infinity launches in Glasslands), and will have been out for quite some time as of Halo 4. This is in addition to the new Spartan 4s.
I remember reading somewhere that the Chief was deployed on Reach at the same time as the Noble team was, he was just on less suicidal missions (And that's how he ended up on the PoA, probably because of Halsey/ONI)
He was in space at the time, managing a possible nightmare scenario where the Covies find out where Earth was from a nav computer that wasn't wiped.
so what're the odds of john meeting up with the surviving blue team or whatever in halo 4?
that'd be p. fucking cool
Actually, probably not too bad. I don't think it'll happen, personally, but I think that there is enough room for me to be surprised.
Plus we get to see some fanboy Spartan IVs apparently

Once the "Halo 4 release date is a Romney conspiracy" guys/retards get a hold of that, hold onto your hats for the trolls.

Speaking of that:
Oh god...

Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm assuming at this point) but wasn't Chief in cryo-stasis during the events of Reach? As far as I know there is no evidence to prove or disprove it, but since he's in Cryo at the beginning of CE, it only makes sense that he's been there for some time waiting for an important mission. Kind of like a last resort.
We know he's in cryo-stasis by the time Emile and Noble Six arrive at the Pillar of Autumn's docks. But that decision was presumably enacted because they were about to leave. Chief led some missions on Reach, I believe took down a bunch of Covenant, and then hopped on the Pillar.
Is there a reason why he was in cyro-sleep before the ship even launched?
Is there a reason why he was in cyro-sleep before the ship even launched?
He is Cortana's protector, cryo probably keeps him preserved until she needs him next. Which would explain why he sleeps so damn much and only wakes up for her.

I thought the Chief sighting in Reach was just a non canon Easter Egg? Kinda like the Johnson/Elite groping in Halo CE.

They said it won't happen in Halo 4 but they would like to tie the characters (from novels) into future [game] installments.
Don't know if you guys knew but I posted a thread on this but I'll post it here... http://halo.xbox.com/en-US/Universe/detail/halo-4-mantis-trailer/5c5bc6fb-7cb0-4552-be8e-d6f54ed5c417 Mantis Trailer with Ragnarok (Valhalla remake)

Fuck yeah! Vahalla! Awesome map. Big enough for Warthogs, but small enough that infantry can have a good time too.
I don't know what to think of the mech, besides the fact that it looks cool.

It looks a bit strong, it shredded through Banshees like it was nothing. I like the fact that it has a stomp attack but I don't ever see that working unless the person driving the other vehicle is retarded or stuck in some way.

Or if somebody is trying to hi-jack it.

Somebody needs to take the teabagging Mantis at the end of the video and turn it into a GIF.

Its most likely the video is acted out and they're trying to make the mantis look more tough than it actually is. I mean that scorpion could have blasted that Mantis away but it didnt even turn its barrel to face it.
I was skeptic about the Mantis when I saw the picture of it but it looks pretty fucking awesome in that vid.
Still don't think mechs belong in halo, but I'll be damned if I'm going to complain about it.

I bet a special hatred is going to form between warthog and mantis drivers.
I bet a special hatred is going to form between warthog and mantis drivers.
Oh man, as someone who is a dedicated Warthog driver I'd hope that a warthog can use its speed to its advantage.
Or maybe you can damage it by driving into it.
The Mantis is going to be one of those things you hate going up against, but when you get your hands on one of them yourself. It's the best thing ever.
That's how im seeing it.
I hope you can place enough mantises for the whole team.
8v8 mantis combat
This isnt late right?
