Perhaps the Aux control room (i'm just gonna call it that as a reference point) was on the same level as the hanger, faster to run to forward of the ship than it it waiting for an elevator up to the bridge.
Halo 4 looks great but 343 needs to stop changing everything. I haven't watched it, going to wait for the full version, but when dies FUD take place? And will they sell a bluray copy/stream an HD version?

It takes place a few years or whatever after Harvest and 15 years before Halo 4.

They aren't changing everything, and all changes except the FUD retcon makes sense and is expalined in canon.
Well, they make sense via iffy explanations, but yea, they work.
Except the new Dawn.

The new FUD? I dunno. They could have made the old Charon class frigates fit the art style just as well. Maybe it just me, cause I LOVED the design of that ship, felt very Halo and very UNSC to me. One of my favorite sci-fi ships.
And even though I like the new Mark VI, the explanation was dumb as hell.

Like I said, there really is no reason to change it. Maybe Frankie just hated the Charon design.
Wait a second, weren't there Charon-class frigates escorting [I]Infinity[/I] in the live action trailer for Halo 4? The one at E3?

That just makes this all the more interesting. Why not retcon the entire class? What makes FUD so special? Gameplay?

Maybe to give the Dawn individuality, rather then be a faceless frigate?
Probably. Also, maybe the internals of a Charon class were harder to work with for gameplay.
I'd say the reason they changed it was to give them more room to work with, the FUD is fairly small (It fits into a canyon on the Ark, and 3 tanks is about enough to fill up it's cargo bay)
That said, art style changes are one of the things I don't think they should explicitly point out (Portal 2 completely ignores the art changes, etc.) treat them like it's always been that way, but don't make an issue out of the change, etc.

FUD takes place 1 year after Harvest according to a news report one of the Cadets was reading.
How did ONI manage to suppress knowledge of the covenant for a year? Wasn't Harvest a huge engagement and as I recall, some of the cadets there were from Harvest as well.
