A shotgun isn't much of a power weapon though. It instakills at close range but a Sniper Rifle in the hands of a good player can kill anyone in sight and a rocket is a one hit kill if it hits, nevermind the fact that it's an anti-tank weapon.
Yeah but mixing the Shotgun with the boost ability makes a deadly combo.
Does anyone else notice it is incredibly difficult to get a game in halo reach on a dlc map ever since the dlc playlist ? Is it because matching with 16 people that each have the dlc is hard to find? Is there a setting to change this?

MY MIND
-snip-
i'd definitely consider the shotgun a power weapon. if you consider the sword a power weapon, the shotgun is too. i don't think it should be selectable as a spawn-in weapon

Close range power weapons maybe.

I think waypoint servers broke. Site won't load properly and the 360 app won't load either.

That wasn't Halo.
When I think Halo I think something like... well, the Halo:CE or the Halo 3 main theme, or 'The Last Spartan', or 'Halo Reborn' - basically Marty O'Donnell's amazing work. Is 'To Galaxy' good? Of course it is. Is it 'Halo' though? No. Halo is, for the most part, dramatic orchestra pieces with choirs and Gregorian chants (and of course there are some exceptions to this, songs like 'In Amber Clad' for example (which is awesome), but for the most part the aforementioned description holds true). Those elements to the music were the consistent theme held throughout the bulk of the music in the initial trilogy, throughout Master Chief's story to date, and being the music that the series started on and for the most part evolved with I'd say that's what is, and what always will be 'Halo'.
The new music is still good though but I doubt it'll ever be anywhere near as memorable or epic as Marty O'Donnell's music to me. If 20 years down the line somebody brings 'Halo' up to me I can bet you $100 that it'll be Marty's music that pops to mind, not this new stuff.
I don't care if it isn't the same thing as the previous Halo games had, I'd rather Davidge do his own thing well than try to imitate Marty.

Personally I'd rather just have Marty do the music still, however if they are to use somebody different I'd agree - I'd prefer he did his own thing and not just 'copy' previous work (although it would be good to hear some kind of 'spiritual successors' to Marty's music; you know, stuff that's similar, but also unique).

I'm glad Marty stuck with Bungie, I'm looking forward to his non-Halo work.

i'd have to say for me that is one of the most memorable halo songs, and most memorable songs in any video game. no other song can simply play the first 2 seconds and instantly bring me back to exactly what i was doing the first time i heard it, dropping in from fucking space on the side of a cliff killing me some jackals.

Map control is not an important aspect of most modern shooters.
Just a question, how much gb of hard disk space do we need for HALO 4?

8GB
What if we want to install everything? Disc included?
The launch trailer will be premiered on the 18th:

They got to be kidding, 8GB for what? Saving a game? I'm kinda confused right now?

It's not unheard of for a game to install data to the hard drive. Battlefield 3 is the best example. It's likely that they do this to help the game run smoothly. Remember it's running on 6+ year old tech. They have to use special tricks to make the game break free from it's limits.
I'm pretty sure Xbox 360 game discs only hold ~7GB to begin with.

Microsoft was working on HDDVD/Blu-ray equivalents for it's 360. It's possible Halo 4 will be the first to use it.
