http://forums.gametrailers.com/thread/all-game-informer-scans/1284038?page=1 Better quality scans I believe.
I read through all of that, some of it sounds believable but that page 49 still seems really fake to me, its just so horribly written. They must use "we" 50 times.
... probably... although I will miss elites being playable, it usually added much greater challenge in 2/3 due to the fact you were an easier target in most cases, I like the reach differences in speed and health, but they did not capitalise on that due to the rarity of being able to play an elite in MM, if they made FFA a free selection, it would of been godlike
But...I enjoy my cinematography
First person cutscenes can be really fun to make.
Plus, there's still third-person cutscenes. [editline]7th April 2012[/editline] http://s1069.photobucket.com/albums/u462/jannaxbox/Halo%204%20May%202012%20Game%20Informer/?start=all For anyone who wants everything in one place, like me
I wonder, are Spartan IVs going to be generic NPC allies like the marines in the previous games or just a little multiplayer element?
I wonder, are Spartan IVs going to be generic NPC allies like the marines in the previous games or just a little multiplayer element?
The article did say the Infinity would come along the Chief's path, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Spartan IV's would be integrated into the story as actual AI allies.
I imagine Spartan IVs would be similar to the ODST's in... ODST, but with less humour since they are spec ops guys. Or a different type of humour - expendables type possibly

They would be kind of stale if they didnt have any charisma to them.

Uhhh...Are you guys joking? The game is a fucking cod clone through and through. No more spawn timer, customizable loadouts, "Spartan Ops" (Almost fucking sounds like Special Ops, I mean, are they even fucking trying to hide it?) Fuck Halo used to be my one of my favorite games, now this...shit.

Especially when we don't even know exactly how these exact features will be handled. Yes, because COD owns those things. And it definitely doesn't mean others can take that idea and adjust it. Riiight.
I'll just wait until I see some actual gameplay, then I'll see whether the changes were good or bad. [editline]8th April 2012[/editline] I'm still not sure if I should laugh at the waypoint forums or be sad, the entire frontpage consists of: "343 Just Stop it", "I guess 343 Doesn't Care About Any Of Us.", "343, You aren't going to win over the CoD fanbase" etc. etc.
Uhhh...Are you guys joking? The game is a fucking cod clone through and through. Fuck Halo used to be my one of my favorite games, now this...shit.
Whoa shit, those three things totally change everything! Shit you're right bro, also how could I not see it before, especially considering the fact that those are two wildly different features just by their description! Guys can't you see that they turned Halo into COD even though the two games don't even play the same just by looking at the trailer. just kidding fuck you As I said before, Call of Duty isn't the only fucking game to have these features. Those features aren't even the fucking features that make call of duty the piece of shit that it is. [editline]7th April 2012[/editline] I am never changing my fucking avatar [editline]7th April 2012[/editline] excuse me while i cans.wav
I think this image summed up my thoughts about the new features: [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/8GoG0.jpg[/thumb]
Some points I readily disagree with, but overall, whoever made the image is right. I absolutely love Halo and though series like Mass Effect have stolen my attention, it's still my favorite game franchise. The fact of the matter is, though, that Halo came out in 2001 and has been updating the same game mechanics for 11 years. A radical shift is needed. It will still be the arcadey, gap-between-old-and-new-FPS style shooter that we love, but with some features that are common now because they're fun.
The only thing I don't like about Halo 4 so far is the bringing back of complete health regen
I thought I was the only one who thought this. Part of me thought, "I bet they're doing it because they heard about Chief and were all 'oh man i could totally do what he did lmao'"
That brings up a good point, though- I wonder how they're going to portray the Spartan IVs. The SIIIs weren't really close to Spartan IIs in terms of physicality, but the SIVs are a different batch entirely. I'd imagine that since they're volunteer, open enlistment, that different augmentations are being used, so they won't be 100% super soldier like the SIIs or SIIIs were. I mean, the original hierarchy was ODSTs<SIIIs<SIIs, but now I imagine it's more like ODSTs<SIVs/</SIIIs<SIIs [editline]7th April 2012[/editline] Also, I'm really glad to see that the UNSC Infinity is actually going to play a pretty big role in things to come, based on how many references there are to it so far.
Maybe. I was thinking that because of the whole voluntary thing, they would be able to justify making them closer to the Spartan IIs in terms of how aggressive the treatments would be. As long as they don't go full on "Scenes From The Suburbs" army guys, then it'll be fine
Maybe. As long as they don't go full on "Scenes From The Suburbs" army guys, then it'll be fine
Agreed. I imagine them sort of like N7 operatives from Mass Effect, because that's basically what they are. In the same sense that a Marine that goes through the ICT program earns the N7 vocational code, so too does a Marine become a Spartan. Only the best of the best are eligible for the program, the training and associated hardships take a special type of discipline to get through, and those that make it through are essentially super soldiers with attitudes. The SIIs were designed to be instruments of destruction, but the SIVs were made in peace time (at least, relatively speaking), and are soldiers that are taken from all backgrounds- they have their personalities, they weren't raised as soldiers. To that end, I imagine they're hyper disciplined, but still people, not unlike the Squad in ODST.
I doubt the augmentations would be able to reach the same heights as S2 augs even if they're space-magic tech. There's a difference with receiving gene-therapy as an adult, and receiving it as a kid and growing up with it. S2's will rule supreme for long in Halo lore.
I'm guessing the design aesthetics have to be based around the fact that the Covenant is pretty much like the Titanic right about now, seeing how you have those who believe the truth and defected, or those who refuse to believe the truth and are still loyal. Maybe the Elites have decided to take off parts of their armor as part of a symbolic meaning? [editline]7th April 2012[/editline] I forgot the word. There are renegade individuals? Mercenaries? i dunno
I think they call them Separatists at some point in Glasslands

Spartan IVs and IIs would probably be evenly matched, however SPARTAN-IV's armor will not be as technically advanced, since it has to attach to somebody that doesn't have enough augs/steroids to support a half-tonne suit.
Probably just some type of dumbed-down MJOLNIR, with the shielding but little of the physical augmentation.
They do look very lightly armoured compared to the previous MJOLNIR versions. On an unrelated note, does anybody else think it annoying that one of the "theories" behind the Legendary Planet was that it was the Domain? I swear, it's like people don't even read the books. The Domain is essentially the Forerunner extra(inter)net, not a physical location.
Damn, the armor abilities are in Halo 4? I kinda thought it was just a Reach thing.
