I've been aware, every Xbox 360 game disc was actually ~5gb before the new format (introduced in mid-late 2011)

So Halo 4 is definitely not the first to use the new format, unless they created an [I]even newer[/I] format.
Also don't forget, the Xbox likes to use multiple discs for it's larger games. Campaign Disc, Multiplayer Disc, etc.

You forget about Spartan Ops, AFAIK, they're all downloads.
The 8GB is for Multiplayer from what i know, if you don't play MP don't need to install 8GB.

Why do the devs [I]assume[/I] taht everyone have enough space on their harddrives?
This is kinda annoying since i'll proabably need to buy a larger HDD for my 360, money that i'd like to save for better things. Sure, Halo is awesome, but hell, i get tired of these kinds of things from the devs...

I have a 60gb and BF3 takes up more space than I'm comfortable with.
I have the HD texture pack, the MP disc, 2 to 3 title updates (which are somewhere between 3 and 4 gigs of space) all installed right now.

i got an xbox with like a 10gb harddrive or something and BF3 took up literally all of that. so i had to go get myself a 300gb one. I CAN INSTALL EVERYTHING NOW
look at it this way, would they rather have extra discs which THEY pay for, or would they rather basically force you to buy a bigger hard drive by making lots of things downloadable / install. in the point of view of a business they're going to make more money by doing it this way
None of the forge maps are as big as Forge Word, but I don't mind, 3 medium maps are as good.

Just noticed something. In the terminals in cea, 343gs says it would take 100 years for a round trip to the gas giant, that would mean to get there it would take 50 years. In between the end of halo 1 and halo 2, he had made the trip but it had not even been a month and he was using the same method of travel to get there that he mentioned. Not only that, but he had been at the gas giant long enough to start a heretic rebellion by the start of halo 2. Nice going 343.

I'm pretty sure he said that he would consider spending a hundred years at Threshold, not take a hundred years to get there and back.

I've always felt bad for Spark. That long alone, and in the terminals make it clear he's aware his mind is going.
Those terminals also mention that the other monitors have lost contact with him. I wonder what happened to them.

but threshold is the only visible gas giant, therefor nearby would refer to it.
Or, he could be saying he wants to travel for few hundred years, doesn't necessarily mean it will take him 100s of years.

That's overthinking, If that was what 343 was trying to imply, they should have stated so through spark.

He went to the nearby gas giant and said that a few hundred years of travel could do him some good. He didn't say it would take him a few hundred years to get there, just that he believes it to be in his best interest to fly around and explore. Like a road trip in space.
