Meh, I expected more honestly.
Wow. I really liked that actually. I liked to see some of the SPARTAN-II in John (if that makes sense) - like the fact that he's intelligent and tactical as much as he is a one man walking army. I mean a one man, guerrilla style ambush on a numerically and technologically superior enemy seems like the kind of thing a SPARTAN would do.
Still kind of silly that Microsoft premiered the launch trailer during a rerun.
That and at 12:55 am EST too. Still, I'm not complaining since I happened to be awake at the time. It was a pretty interesting trailer anyway. Especially the way they showed the augmentation process. Worst part ( in terms of disturbing footage) about it though was when they started stabbing him though, along with the row of other ongoing procedures. And then they say an "Ancient Evil Awakens" after showing a long series of the ways they totally fucked around with the Spartan candidates. Seemed almost like a satire of how Master Chief's torture by [sp] the Prometheans, and presumably Didact in this one video, [/sp] is similiar to the one he experienced by ONI. [editline]19th October 2012[/editline] Also it's hard to hear, but when they're showing the line of Spartans in process of augmentation you can hear "058", the callsign of Linda. So it's logical to assume that the female stepping into line is Linda.
It's not exactly been clarified if the Prometheans (The Knight class atleast) are automatons or if there are actual living Forerunners inside that armor, and seeing as [sp]Didact is still alive apparently[/sp] and that Forerunners are literally immortal as long as they are not killed it makes it hard to judge. I know Frankie said a few months back that "They aren't robots", so for all we know those could be living Forerunners we're fighting behind all the armor and hologram skulls. Would anyone have any more info on this subject? I don't want to sound like a complete idiot.
I just noticed the lack of music why is there no music That's why Deliver Hope is still my favorite Halo trailer.
They're an army of beings created BY the forerunners [editline]19th October 2012[/editline] fuck well anyways that launch trailer was pretty good, seemed kinda awkward without music though
They're an army of beings created BY the forerunners
No, a quick search says that they're the highest combat related mutation possible in the Forerunner race. http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Promethean Still can't confirm if we're fighting live Prometheans though

Originally I believe their troop consisted of actual Forerunners but after the Forerunner/Flood War they were replaced by automatons. Their anatomy certainly doesn't resemble Forerunner anyway, since their limbs are disjointed and don't resemble the anatomy we've seen before in the (admittedly non canon) Halo Legends and novels.

[editline]19th October 2012[/editline] Remember, Frankie said "They're not robots"
Well, the hype train has reached critical mass, please make sure all belongings are safely stowed, and ignore the grumpy man in the caboose. The only way this train is stopping is if it flies off the rails, and that didn't stop Doc Brown.
That reminds me, still need to pre-order.

[editline]19th October 2012[/editline] Remember, Frankie said "They're not robots"
I honestly haven't looked much into it so that I can be surprised once I play it, but just looking at this image it seems like they're mostly robotic in nature, if possibly controlled by an organic/[sp] Didact [/sp]. If anything I'd just attribute them to vestigial limbs.

[editline]19th October 2012[/editline] I remember something about most of the Prometheans being strong enough to crush a Human's skull with a single bare hand. I don't know about you guys, but I think the average human would be able to crush a Forerunner's body with a single bare hand themselves if Forerunners are that small when outside of that bulky armor.
I don't know about you guys, but I think the average human would be able to crush a Forerunner's body with a single bare hand themselves if Forerunners are that small when outside of that bulky armor.
From the Halo wiki: " Physically, Prometheans were the highest form a Warrior-Servant could mutate to, standing around four meters tall and between 800 and 1,000 kilograms in weight. They were heavily muscled, their hands capable of easily crushing a human skull." The only problem with this is that I don't see any way these Prometheans could mutate, nonetheless be muscled since most, if not all, of their body is metallic. Very likely this description only applies to the organic Promotheans that the original Forerunner consisted of. Edit: Thinking back, seems like the Prometheans were nothing more than the Spartans of the Forerunners. Both were mutated to protect their own species and both were capable of astronomical feats far exceeding human/forerunner capacities. Which is probably why Master Chief's flashbacks were shown alongside his slaughtering of the Promethean; robotic or not.
Whatever armor they were put into that preserved them from the Halo rings most likely is affecting their consciousness, as they are very aggressive for sentient beings. Even if they are the elite warrior class, I would assume they would put more thought into their actions instead of blindly attacking whatever happens to not be forerunner.

Episode 3 is up. Its possible that these Prometheans were forerunner warriors who have been converted into constructs.

[editline]19th October 2012[/editline] Oh, and HOLY SHIT that trailer was crazy!
While you going around finding people who dislike halo is generally annoying, I have to admit, how does having 20 different weapons on you at any given time lend its self to more strategic gameplay then being limited to two? I hear this argument all the time, and it makes no sense. If I've got that many guns, strategy goes out the window, its just a mater of unloading on everything till nothing else is moving. See Serious Sam.
Just imagine the damage the flood could do if they infested those organic parts of the promeathens
Wow, the latest FUD episode actually made the Covenant look terrifying
FUD keeps getting better and better, the Covenant looked seriously badass.
The episodes keep getting better, but finding out that his brother died was something I think most people figured out in episode 1. The elevator getting destroyed was almost a given after that blonde cadet got on. It's a nice new perspective on the Covenant though, and the first time we've really seen them from the view of somebody who isn't a super-soldier or highly-trained marine.
Haven't watch FUD yet but that trailer was fucking awesome!! [editline]19th October 2012[/editline] That was epic. What class was that Elite?

Holy fucking shit. That was fucking awesome. Best episode of FUD so far. Can't wait until next week.
'An ancient evil awakens' :| Could you be more cliche?
It's been the tagline for almost half a year now, could you be more late?
Spoiler tagged for those who haven't watched the new FUD episode. Holy shit,[sp]those people falling from the space elevator.[/sp]
Spoiler tagged for those who haven't watched the new FUD episode. Holy shit,[sp]those people falling from the space elevator.[/sp]
I think that's the moment when it really sinks in that shit is hitting the fan.
It's been the tagline for almost half a year now, could you be more late?
I haven't seen it for a while, I assumed it was dropped.
'An ancient evil awakens' :| Could you be more cliche?
It may be cliche, but it works.
