You know what? Come back to me when your Spartan has a TOWERING PILLAR OF HATS!
My spartan is just like this, but my hats have a cloaking device.
Wait so, Halo had a hat system since the beginning but none of us knew about it? I bet VALVe is behind this!
Me and a friend were discussing this yesterday, predicting that Master Chief will probably go rogue by Halo 6. The problem then is having Human enemies on par with the Covenant and the Prometheans. Although now that I think about it: Grunts > Marines Jackals > ODSTs Elites > Spartan IVs Spec ops elites > ONI agents Eh? [editline]20th October 2012[/editline] Plus, we've not really touched on the Insurrection what so ever in the games. Chief defecting to the Insurrection and fighting the massively overpowered UNSC at some point? It'd be almost parallel to how it felt with the last few games.
Wouldn't go down well with many people, unless you know the universe of halo it'd just seem that you'd become the bad guy if you end up shooting marines, at best master chief may go 'rogue trooper' but will still never defect. But that's for way down the line, i think the story for now will be something akin to star trek voyager / stargate universe, you'll team up with the marines and try to get home.
valve co-development of halo 4 confirmed
Turns out you have to buy helmets for $7.99 with the newly implemented halo wallet system.
By the way, who said there was no geo-merging in Forge? You can fucking see it in action the the latest ViDoc ffs. Goddamn idiots playing the leak I mean really
I'm a bit confused about the status of Friendly Fire in Halo 4. I know that it's off in Infinity Slayer, but what about other playlists? As annoying as power weapon betrayers are, there are certain things I like about Friendly Fire.

I always kill just the team mate. It's hilarious.
Just pre order Halo 4 feeling pretty good
so anyway this master chef guy, how good at cooking is he anyway?
He's better than Gordon Ramsay, that's for sure. I was going to make some witty alien dishes but sadly, I am not a smart man.
Hey does anyone know how to get the CQB helmet on waypoint? I just beat Halo: Reach on Legendary and I can't find the unlocks.
Hey does anyone know how to get the CQB helmet on waypoint? I just beat Halo: Reach on Legendary and I can't find the unlocks.
Isn't it halo 3 on legendary you need for that one?
Isn't it halo 3 on legendary you need for that one?
Nah I'd already have it then. I remember there being a whole section for Halo Waypoint's Reach unlocks and now I can't find it.
They may have removed the feature, but I haven't used waypoint on the 360 in years so I couldn't tell you.
They may have removed the feature, but I haven't used waypoint on the 360 in years so I couldn't tell you.
Aw well thanks then. Playing Halo: Reach again I never noticed how great it looks. I mean some of the scenes just look amazing and they're incredible well done too. The one I'm only thinking of is right after Long night of Solace and it's when you see the destroyed Covenant carrier, it looked great and really brought some feels.
Anyone hope that 343 tries to do something akin to Vidmaster/Recon Armor in Halo 4? It gave a feeling of accomplishment nothing else could.
Some will disagree, but I say yes. I liked having that whole mystical unlock thing that remained so tantalizing due to the challenges required to get to it.
You know, Chief will inevitably team up with the crew of the Infinity, but I've pondered; What would happen if the UNSC tried sticking their grubby mitts on something they can't comprehend and would probably fuck everything over, and Chief and Cortana had to stop them somehow? The ruthlessness of the UNSC isn't often touched on in the games, and ONI - if it's still around - certainly wouldn't mind taking threats out of the way for humanity's goals. Like a certain hero trying to stop them from doing something stupid. And while the Covenant feared the Spartans, imagine human reactions if the Spartan suddenly obstructed them. (Just random ranting about things that'll probably never happen.)
I think so far they've INTENTIONALLY stayed away from all of the morally ambiguous shit that the UNSC and ONI has done (that, and when Halo was first cretated that lore hadn't been established and we had no immediate idea that ONI was as fucked up as it is). I'm not sure they'll ever go there with the Chief, however it'd be interesting if they did. [editline]21st October 2012[/editline] Then again it's interesting to note that one of the other main characters of Halo 4 is an individual who it's being made clear is fairly anti-UNSC (despite being a part of it himself). I doubt they've done that for no reason.

I doubt they've done that for no reason.
I'm not surprised they would intentionally avoid the darker aspects of the UNSC. The Covenant - and eventually the Flood - were already endangering humanity's very survival, so showing some marines mowing down insurgent troops would be a mood whiplash and probably just make the games too grim for what they were going for. It's an interesting angle to think about, especially if the context is given to the players for reasons why not to like the UNSC, but the only way they could do it properly is to build it up in the new trilogy or some side games or something instead of relying on players to read the novels to understand it all. And even then, the most they could likely due is either play some side-antagonists that hamper the Chief's path in his efforts to stop the true 'evil', or unwittingly be a single individual or group of idiots Chief would probably have to prevent from destroying everything. aka a retread of the Prophets of the Covenant in the latter case, with less religion and more nationalism and stupidity, which would be lazy.
Anyone hope that 343 tries to do something akin to Vidmaster/Recon Armor in Halo 4? It gave a feeling of accomplishment nothing else could.
Hmm, I noticed Spartan disagreed. I thought you, of all people, were against the "Points for participation"ification of Halo?
Someone playing Halo 2 Vista http://www.twitch.tv/theBancast He was playing CEA co-op earlier. Believe hes doing a run through of all the games.
Hmm, I noticed Spartan disagreed. I thought you, of all people, were against the "Points for participation"ification of Halo?
what.
Oh lord, watching a recording of a Halo CEA Online Co-Op live stream, his buddy gets out the warthog to watch the the first Terminal on the second Level, and he just runs him over multiple times during the length of the terminal, because while watching the Terminals you have no idea what is going on outside, controller doesn't react, so he has no idea hes being run over. Other people watching a commentating trying hard not to laugh. He finishes watching, his first reaction is to say "Oh, I am dead. There are corpses everywhere!" Then he throws a grenade into the pile of corpses, it does not end well.
I remember watching on youtube the Halo 3 behind the scenes that was on the Legendary bonus DVD but it's no longer on there and nowhere to be seen online. I LOOOVED that BTS documentary but it seems I'll never get to see it again, I know no one with the legendary dvd or any way to even rip it.
Does anyone have an high-res render of the MANTIS?

Part of Halos charm is laughing your ass off when you betray your friends. Some of my funniest halo moments involve accidental betrayals.
Doesn't the soundtrack release today? Or was it tomorrow. I could have sworn it became available in October.
Tomorrow on the 22nd, Its the standard version. If you want the special edition or limited edition (what ever they call it) you have to wait till November 6th.
