Which, now that I think of it, a constant "free" deliver of content in this Spartan Ops package makes the Xbox Live bill actually worth it somewhat. Hopefully Microsoft considers a package like this for all their future first party titles.
Gotta say, I'm going to miss Firefight. It was really fun to play with some buddies. Way better in ODST though. And I still think Gears 2 did the "Horde" mode best.
Firefight was cool for about 5 minutes, but then it was just kinda repetitive. It wasn't really intense like I thought it would be, and it became more like "shoot the covenant when the side doors open"
it would've been cool had there been like, floods of covenant, and maybe if the maps were a little more close quarters, maybe something like left 4 dead survival
I wonder how spartan ops delivery will be handled though.
Will it be a bunch of disc-locked maps/missions that are unlocked at specific times, or will we have to download the maps as they are released?
I think it'd be disc-locked, because you'd have to download a 700 MB map every week otherwise and I really don't see them do that. Beside, most Xbox's have limited harddrives, so if there'd be ~10 missions it would fill up really fast. I think they'll be available on disc from start, so expect all the missions to be uploaded to youtube within a week of release.
Wish they'd add bots to halo 4 but they better be smart bots

Hell even cod black ops has bots

FF limited in reach was fun enough, but they ruined it with the 20 minute time limit, then further so by removing it altogether, even at the half the maps were meh, Corvette was a killbox, that coupled with an inferior method of dealing with latency was the steel girder that broke the camel's back

Or if the objectives you had to defend weren't so lame.
If they add smart multiplayer bots to halo 4......I will forever love 343

And then took the replay system from Black Ops yet didn't bother with bots in MW3. Lazy bastards, but that would be an interesting idea (as long as they aren't Counter-Strike levels of 'hunting your ass down through walls when they spot you once'). :v:
I'd rather CS's bots than Blops... they were pretty retarded

Let me know if I'm late...
Really liking the soundtrack. Has that epic feeling of the original games, but without the whole "huge ass battle" and desperation elements. More like, mysterious, and uncertain, but defiant at the same time.
I hope the "halo theme' is in Halo 4 somewhere, with hints of other Marty themes.

No dual wielding, I guess thats no SMG as well, because of their stupid "its pointless when not dual wielded" arguement they used in Reach.
Im loving the new sounds, gives off a sort of mysterious vibe and the feeling of a new begining into a new era of Halo games.
Also whos idea was it for Cole Protocol to have 70 chapters?
Dual wielding is really "whatever" for me. I mean yeah it was cool, and if they had it again then great, but I mean it's not a big loss for me.

Also yeah, that soundtrack is definitely Halo. I daresay it's worthy of Marty himself.

Why not bring back the ODST SMG? I love it when games cater to different play-styles by giving a silent option.
As long as my Assault Rifle is there, preferably with 60 rounds, I'll be happy regardless.
I fucking love that gun. When you held the trigger, you knew everyone gets at least one bullet.
It's like Halo, but not.
:o
I never used the AR in Halo 3 or Reach SP, it just wasn't comparable to the headshot-capable weapons. In Halo 1 I mostly carried around the AR and pistol, although I would ditch the AR for some weapons like shotties, snipers or rockets. The AR was brilliant for pinning down enemies, even Elites by burstfiring until you were close enough for full auto, and then smashing them in the face.
Maybe it was the whole 32 rounds thing but the H3 and H:R AR felt just wrong.

Sweet, just got my Halo 4 Game Informer issue. Now I can stare at the pages in ~REAL LIFE~!
Ugh christ I fucking love the music near the beginning of Composing Worlds.
Sounds like if Jurassic Park took place on a Halo ring.

We still haven't figured out what the assault carbine is
It could replace the smg

I don't like the idea of cutting dual wielding.
It made sense in ODST and Reach because you weren't a hulking powerful Spartan II or Spartan IV.
It just doesn't make sense to take that ability away from MC.

Yeah, I'm a little on the fence about that one. I always liked the little tactical change that dual wielding would give. Being able to use a plasma rifle and an SMG at the same time was always fun, and encountering enemies that could put more fire down was a nice challenge.
