Oh, shit. You're a blue. I'll whip up a 64x64 version.
[editline]23rd April 2012[/editline]
Use this one instead, it's transparent.

I'll be using the bottom one, if nobody objects. At least until we see some Green Spartan IVs.
i feel like I haven't heard from you in fucking forever.

Wait, what? Halo book buffs, when did this happen?
First strike, its stupid I know.
And yet apart from that magical plot device First Strike is still the second best Halo novel. Honestly that says more about the quality of the rest than the writing in FS.

Im not a fan of First Strike, my favorites are Contact Harvest and Ghosts of Oynx.
Did anyone else feel The Cole Protocol was pretty dragged out, I didn't think it got interesting till all the stories came together near the end.

IMO Fall of Reach > Ghosts of Onyx = First Strike > non-game segments of The Flood > The Cole Protocol > Contact Harvest > game segments of The Flood > Fall of Reach 2010 reprint
Haven't read the rest

What did they change in the Fall of Reach reprint?

Everything but the typos in the date.
I hope bullets start coming out of your gun now rather than your head.

If it does then maybe my clan will stop bitching "Hurr headglitch" whenever someone makes use of a design intentionally coded over 15 years ago for Quake's engine and several other FPS engines.
The embarrassing thing about that is that a lot of the people bitching that are atleast in their late 20's/early 30s. No matter how much I explain to them that "The aimpoint is at the head" they keep insisting it's a glitch that someone is shooting through the wall when their head is peeking up behind cover.
The more I look at Master Chief's new helmet, the better it looks.
I mean, not to say it wasn't already pretty fuckin' cool in the first place, but it's starting to hit me.
only helmet of chief's I genuinely like is the Mark V.
I'm still not that big of a fan of the new armor design.
It seems like in some places it's aiming for the curvature of the Elite armor instead of the more human angular look, making it look more decorative than practical in parts, like the leggings.
Maybe it's just me - I still think that the Mark 6 hit the nail on the head with design.

I like the Mark V helmet the most otherwise but the "cap" part always looked too sharp due to the low poly count.

Its for headbutting people and impaling them with the spikes.

New armour ability: Spartan Headbutt. You heard it here first.
The whole point of Mark VII (if that's what it is), is supposed to be designed as looking functional & acrobatic while also being like 300 lbs of pure tank. I'd say they did a pretty nice job.

That, and these upgrades aren't necessarily true MK7. It's whatever Cortana could do with a few years and the facilities available to her on FUD, in addition to the armor's nanite layer.
Chief's armour was like the New Enterpris(es) to me (the JJ-Prise, and STO's Ent-F) Didn't like it at first but the more I seen it the more I liked it.
"Standard Magnetic Accelerator Cannon
The standard ship-mounted MAC fires a 600-ton ferric-tungsten projectile with a depleted uranium core at 30,000 meters per second The large amount of energy needed to fire the weapon is particularly onerous on a warship, and the extended recharge time is a significant factor in combat against Covenant warships as multiple MAC rounds are required to penetrate Covenant shields. At 2.7e14 Joules per shot (KE=.5 x 600 000 kg x 30 000 m/s x 30 000 m/s), it has a standard destructive output of 64.53 kilotons TNT-equivalent."
Wouldn't that mean a MAC gun used on terrestrial targets would technically be a WMD?
MAC cannons vary wildly, I assume they can fine tune it for specific targets - i.e. the spire on reach where they used it in atmosphere... stupidly.

Yeah, I really, truly, do not get why they didn't just park a ship in orbit and fire at it, or just plant a nuke. Hell, just launch a nuke at it. Anything but a MAC blast.
What about the mini-MAC at the end of Reach? Wasn't that bad, and hell, it singlehandedly destroyed an entire cruiser in one shot.

I hope for Halo 4 that 343 has a character that uses Pete Stacker's Captain Keyes/Commander Griffin voice.
It's not a Halo game without Pete Stacker's voice being somewhere in it. I don't care if it's a completely new character or Stacker's good-ole Self-insert generic NPC ally character. His voice just needs to be there for the game to be complete.
Today I was browsing around the wiki and I read that [sp]the pre historic humans never cured the flood, but the flood left on its own free will.[/sp] I have not read primordium so I can not test the validity of this subject, so im asking you guys. The quote in question
[sp]Eventually, humanity discovered a "cure" for the Flood: According to the Forerunners, they sacrificed a third of their total population, implanting them with destructive, artificially programmed genes used to target the Flood on a genetic level. In reality, however, the Flood had receded by its own volition after the sacrifice; no cure was ever created or used by humanity.[/sp]
That was the most underwhelming display of "destructive" firepower I've ever seen. When it fired I expected some sound like thunder with a blinding flash of lightning, then see a massive plume of dust coming out of a crater behind the spire while the top of the spire (the part impacted) was vaporized completely.

Yep. Hence the conversation we had in the new ME thread, about the Reapers and Flood being similar. The [sp]Flood did leave of their own accord, as they had fulfilled their duty and proven humanity ready for the Mantle, leaving the Forerunners their next target for destruction and absorption[/sp].
