I wonder if Halo 5 is going to be on the next Xbox.

Considering the Durango rumors and the likely 2 year development period between the Reclaimer trilogy games, odds are, it will be.

By the way, everybody else noticed the downed Covenant ship off to the right on the cover, right?

This thing has been harvesting fucking millions of ships for some reason, it's no wonder there's a few covenant ships being thrown into the mix...
Wait, what if they're using the ships to make their structures!

Coming into this thread, I was thinking "Oh boy lets see how Halo 4's going, probably wont even buy it."
Upon seeing box art: Faith in the Sacred Ring restored.
First of all, anyone who's been keeping up with development can tell you that this game is already shaping up to be fucking awesome and another step in the evolution of the series
can someone give me some good, solid reasons to buy halo 4? i'm a long time halo fan and halo 4 just looks like shit to me.
too much to explain; plus you haven't really given any points for us to refute/decimate as to why this game "looks like shit"

Art direction took a complete 180, different studio, and it just seems like a needless sequel. I'll take your word for it if you say that it looks well-made and has promise.

1. 343 industries consists of veterans of the Halo franchise, and many pros of the industry.
2. Art style did not take a 180 in the slightest. Sure, new UNSC tech and Chief's new look (which is all explained in the expanded universe.) may be new, but it all stays true to the heart of Halo.
3. Have you seen the ending of Halo 3? We knew Halo 4 was going to happen for a very long time.
If you did your own research on the title you would already know that Halo 4 and the reclaimer trilogy is going to much more than a needless set of sequels. Halo 4 has been in development since 2008, it will be a very successful title worthy to be called Halo.
I don't really see how people can say Halo 4 is shaping up to be awesome. We really don't know that much one way or the other.
All that's really officially confirmed is the stuff we saw in the VidDoc and some outlying information.
Nobody can really say how good it's going to be, because we don't know. We'll get a better idea once we get more info, but for right now it's all really bare bones.
They're saying that because the devs seem to (at least in their vidocs) care a huge amount about the project they're working on, which means they're likely to produce a great game.

Give me five reasons why you think it looks shit?
We barely know anything about the game so your opinion is probably uneducated.

Art Direction? Its no different.
Different Studio is irrelevant 343 know what they're doing.
And a sequel was needed as Master Chief couldn't be left floating forever.

What do you mean? The art direction is very different, it doesn't even look like Shi Kai Wang is on the team this time. And I thought the true ending to Halo 3 was poetic; the pop culture icon is laid to rest before it gets overused. I thought we'd have at least five years until a new halo game came out, this one just seems like a ploy for money.
Also, if you're so sure that 343 knows what they're doing, can you supply me with a list of people who crossed over from Bungie? Just because some of the staff from Bungie left for 343, it doesn't mean they got the core players.

Like I said before and got dumbs, art direction for the human stuff took from fallout, which imo does not fit halo in the slightest.
You may ask how it can take art style from fallout when fallout is destroyed, the warthog looks like it got all of the technological things from fallout put together and added a clean texture to and such.
I asked many people of which warthog they thought looked better and only those that play fallout and not halo said the halo 4 warthog looks better. Those that said the halo 4 warthog looked ugly was the 90%.
Also why would you come into a thread and say "CONVINCE ME TO BUY THIS GAME BECAUSE I THINK IT LOOKS LIKE SHIT"
all you're doing is stirring up a shitstorm. Either buy the game or don't, there's really no reason anyone besides you and the people you play with would care.

Im sorry but did I ever imply that 343 has anything to do with Bungie, before you pull out your copy and pasted arguement read what I write.
Besides all sequels are a ploy for money, they could have ended Halo CE on a cliffhanger like Halo 3 but they didn't because it made money, thats all sequels are and ever have been, if there was no money in it they wouldn't produce it. I dont care if Halo 4 is a ploy for money, it doesn't lessen the quality of the game. I just want to see the universe expanded more through the video games. The art style is supposed to be slightly more futuristic than the previous games, it being 4 years in the future and the advancement of technology from Forerunner and Covenant sources.
Its not our job to convince you to like the game.

It looks nothing like Fallout, if you think it looks like Fallout then you haven't played enough Fallout, Fallout goes on a retrofuturistic theme which this game certainly isn't.

We are the fan base, but its not our job to go around telling others what their opinion should be. We just come here to talk about the series/universe we're not a cult intent on converting people to our opinions.

I disagree with this to a degree. If you're creating a movie/book/game and your primary goal is to tell an awesome story, with money just being a nice little handy result of that work, then sequels don't have to be cash cows - just a way for you to better tell the story. I mean imagine if J.R.R. Tolkien had tried to condense the entire LoTR trilogy (I'm ignoring The Hobbit here) into a single, reasonable size book. It'd be nowhere near as fleshed out or good.

True but thats when they are made to have sequels, Halo didnt originally plan to be a trilogy.
Playing Halo 3 today. It's weird

what are you talking about? At the end of the day, money is the only thing that matters to companies.

The game looks like a beefed up Halo 3 from what I've seen. How is this a problem?
what are you talking about? At the end of the day, money is the only thing that matters to companies.
That's a really cynnical way to look at things. If money was the only thing that mattered, they would release very bare-bones video games. They would look for the bare minimum that people would dish out money for and then give them that. Obviously they're aiming to make us happy and stuff.
If the game was solely being made for money and literally nothing else mattered, it wouldn't be an enjoyable game.
