Windows 7 compatibility error. Run it in compatibility mode.
How might I go about doing that?
I have not played in a couple months, I play one game of Slayer and come in first. Thing is, I suck, I rarely come above 4th.
I just feel good when I have a positive kill/death spread :v:
How might I go about doing that?
Right click on the .exe file that runs the game (Should be in C:/Program Files (x86) [[if you're on a 64-bit OS]]/ Microsoft Games/Halo/halo.exe) > click "Properties" > click the "Compatibility" tab > check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for..." tickbox > select "Windows XP (Service pack 3)". If that doesn't work, try "Windows XP (Service pack 2)". If that doesn't work, also make sure you're running in administrator mode (right click > "Run as Administrator").
Halo 4? I mean, I love Halo, but I think they are beginning to milk it. I would have loved to see Chiefs story through a book or something, but when they say finish the fight and just end up making a Halo 4, it gets annoying.
May be a week old comment, however: Personally I think media set in fantasy and sci-fi universes are a lot easier to milk than media more grounded in reality without the milk going sour as it were. When you have to play by the strict rules of Earth, our history and established laws of physics and reality you kind of lose a lot of creative control compared to a fictional universe where you can make up your own laws of physics like in sci-fis, or have it powered by magic in the case of some fantasy settings. Call of Duty got stale after a while because it's the same old fucking thing, whereas with something like Halo they could simply work an entire new species into the canon if they so pleased and and with it a completely detached and new story line. With CoD we're basically just gonna forever have Germans, Russians, or the Taliban as enemies - I very much doubt they're going to change that mixture up too much.
Reach is by far the best, simply for its modular nature. As much as I love the other Halo games, I'd be lying if I said it wasn't nostalgia goggles making me say they're superior.
I have to agree, the multiplayer is my favorite so far, although I like to think that the older ones are better its just nostalgia, at the end of the day Halo Reach improved on a lot.

I think Reach was the WORST Halo game in terms of the story. They lost focus of the singleplayer after Halo became increasingly popular and they seem to have focused on the multiplayer primarily and treated the campaign as a secondary feature. NOT the way I want to see the Halo universe go to be honest, I've always been interested in it mainly for its story - the multiplayer to me was always just something nice and extra to keep me around afterwards.

Reach's campaign was fun and overall great, but it felt rushed and there wasn't really much of a connection to Noble Team. It was more "Hey, here's some Spartans" THREE WEEKS LATER "oh god we're all dying" ONE WEEK LATER "we're dead"

The ideas were good, but the execution... not so much.

...luckily it looks like Halo 4's campaign will be nothing short of awe-inspiring
...luckily it looks like Halo 4's campaign will be nothing short of awe-inspiring
Indeed, the sheer scale of it alone seems to be awesome. I'm glad they haven't released much, though, I'd rather not suffer Mass Effect 2 syndrome again. And no leaks, therefore stopping Mass Effect 3 syndrome.

its a given they'll show something at E3, I can't wait for that.
what's Mass Effect 1 syndrome? Utter confusion going in?
Mass Effect 3 script was leaked online a few months ago.
Mass Effect 3 script was leaked online a few months ago.
I know that if 3 is that and 2 is they revealed too much beforehand then what is 1 (also I didn't read the leaked script and I hope ME3 is good please bioware please)

But Arachnidus didn't mention ME1 in his post...? In fact, it probably didn't have its own 'syndrome'.
Oh right. But Arachnidus didn't mention ME1 in his post...? In fact, it probably didn't have its own 'syndrome'.
right, he didn't, so that's why I'm wondering if it had a syndrome, what it would be.
right, he didn't, so that's why I'm wondering if it had a syndrome, what it would be.
Setting the bar unreasonably high?
OK.
I present to you, Master Chief of Halo 4.
Looks hot, but the Chief looks a bit skinny where there's no armor.
I present to you, Master Chief of Halo 4.
Those collarbone peices are far to large. Or they need to beef up his shoulder plates.
Looks hot, but the Chief looks a bit skinny where there's no armor.
Yeah, there's a lot of gaps in it. It seems like a radical redesign, I'm not sure how they're going to explain it away. I know MJOLNIR can retrofit itself, and Cortana was likely responsible for the entire thing, but that's a really big redesign. Like, absurdly big, an entire new suit.
Too much exposed underlayers, no proper crotch armor 2/10 wouldn't wear

I liked the space nappy and never noticed that it was one until they pointed it out. [editline]13th February 2012[/editline] This new armour looks dumb.
