I liked how the MP component in Reach used XP simply as a means to get items from the armoury, compared to other games that give you better weapons for it. I hope the specialisations doesn't detract for that.
I've just started playing MP, and I like how the only differing factor is skill, the other players don't have better weapons simply because they've played more.
From what I understand, depending on the playlist, they'll have their own loadouts you can choose from in the gamemode while also retaining the option of using your own loadout if you so wish.
Is the 90 minute back story on a DVD or download god dammit? They don't say, and if it isn't then what the fuck.
Probably on Waypoint like the video that came with Reach Legendary edition.

"New Friends"
Please be Blue Team.
I really hope those weapon sounds are placeholder, because they sound like shit. More like CoD than Halo.
I wouldn't exactly call Blue Team "new friends" for the Chief, I guess they'd be new for the players though.

New to the games, and most of blue team would be new to him, most of the original members that chief knows are dead.
I wonder if the Spartan IIIs in Blue Team did end up going into the Spartan IV program, would that make them better than the standard Spartan IVs?

ok this looks fucking cool
Has anyone else noticed how the UNSC has streamlined their Spartan production? The first spartans were absolutely horrendously costly to train, which took tens of years to complete, with over-engineered battlesuits that could take punishment but costed around two UNSC destroyers. Only couple of tens existed but they absolutely mopped the floor with anyone who dared to stand against them, and could destroy entire fleets of covenant ships if given the chance.
Then came the next step of spartans that were a little less trained, with more streamlined suits that didn't take a full team of scientist to take off, but which weren't as strong as the previous ones. Usually very experienced and skilled soldiers taken directly from the frontlines to wear them. Hundreds of them could be brought up in relatively short time, to an extend that they could just be used cannon fodder. Then comes these Spartan IV's, which no doubt are probably going to become the standard soldiers of UNSC in the near (halo's) future.
Whoever wrote the background story clearly was inspired by the history of Germany, the war with the covenant, retrograding, streamlining, major industrial areas devastated. Shortages of vital equipment and weapons to field against covenant, losing ground and only buying enought time to finish developing "wonder weapons".
Not that I complain, it is very well done.

real weapon sounds recorded with an iphone
ever shot a gun? it's loud as all hell. if that's what the guns sound like in the final game, i'll be very disappointed.

The volume was turned down in the video because Frankie was talking.
And yes I've heard guns in real life I live on a Military Base.
The rifle they showed just sounded very weak, the good thing about the BR in the previous halos is that it sounded beefy and felt like it packed a punch.
And similarly it's why the carbine in halo reach sounded like shit, it was absolutely weak sounding.
Reportedly the plasma pistol sounds awesome in Halo 4.
According to Frank O'Connor, Burnie from Rooster Teeth was very surprised by the sound it made.

Holy shit that music.
I dunno, I like the BR sounds. It sounds pretty sleek, and memorable.
Also holy shit finally some gameplay that lasts longer than 5 seconds.

They are using real weapon sounds, hell the gun they are using for the BR is even in the video! And Neat, use logic before you say something like "real weapon sounds recorded with an iphone" again.

"Sounds too weak, would not buy."
I absolutely hate the hands in Halo 4. I know it's such a trivial thing to bitch about, but they stand out way too much for my liking. They have this weird grip thing on the pads that makes it look weird as hell both in first person view and outside of first person.

shit why don't you just hurry up and say that you WANT this game to be bad, fuck
More like every new sparten would see MC has a goddamn living legend
Does the new armor remind anyone else of the camo in MGS4? How the "skin" part is octagonal.

BF3 sounds were recorded as well but sounded much better. What, are they next going to completely replace the very recognizable sniper rifle firing sound?

Probably, with a more realistic sound.
I believe these are re-designs of the weapons in-universe, so it'll make sense that they sound different, to a degree.

The Spartan IIs were not the first Spartans. The Spartan Is were, and they were basically just genetically-altered soldiers. Think Captain America type deal. Johnson from Halo 1-3 was one, supposedly.

Yeah that would prove his point then if it was bad.

He was part of the spartan I project, which were basically what ODST's are.
