It's been around for a few weeks.
I thought Reach was an improvement over 3, but it just surprises me how much further and further developers manage to push the limits of a 5-6 year old system.
It really shows how a lot of people in the industry are losing imagination. A ton of people are like "We need a new console! The Xbox/PS3 are too old!" but we're still getting games that look better and better.

Also, regarding the Hype thing, it's dumb to blame Call of Duty. Hype died down as Video Games became more commonplace and mainstream, regardless of Call of Duty's yearly releases. In fact, Call of Duty releases are one of the few things that are hyped, these days. It's just because people play video games often enough and buy them often enough that getting hyped over every single one is dumb and weird.
We'll see more hype about Halo as it gets closer to release. As I said before, we still hardly know anything about it, so, everyone relax and don't start saying 'There's no hype at all!' because there are obviously people excited about it, it's still just a ways off.
These new concept art images are included in the Halo 4 Premium Theme, if anyone missed them:

I've always thought Pelicans looked slick as shit.

EDIT: Oh come on guys it wasn't even funny, the only reason I thought it would be funny was because I was drunk.
The pelican is my state bird. BE JEALOUS

If i get to fly one of those ingame...........
So I recently got a 360 about a month ago. Was interested in the Halo series so I borrowed Reach from a friend and it was awesome. Where do I go to now if I want to eventually play Halo 4? Is it worth getting the Combat Evolved Anniversary just to get into the story? Or should I just get the cheap used 9$ Halo 3? Will I be completely lost? Does Combat Evolved hold up? I've only played it briefly on the original xbox many years ago. Thanks for the help.
It's a personal thing really, you could easily read up on the story and be ready for 4.
I've read up on the story, but I'm still going to play the games (I want to do them in order, but I don't have Reach yet) Considering how long I take that could be close though (Been playing Anniversary on and off for a month, and I'm on The Silent Cartographer)
So then what would the allies be?
Friendly grunts?

They're very good at mine clearance.

You just airdrop hundres of them onto minefields.

Halo CE is one of the best.
Custom Edition best edition
Also Anniversary is the best thing ever on Legendary co-op with the skulls for infinite ammo and massive explosions turned on

Halo 4 will have a recap at the beginning of the game, so you will get some Story There.

Personally Reach was my least favourite in terms of the campaign. I'd strongly suggest playing CE, 2 and 3 (and even ODST). They're really, really great games.
Lets show off guys. State fun things that are somewhat challenging you have pulled off.
1. Got CQB Helmet in halo reach and all its upgrades.
2. I had every nameplate available for halo reach.
I might have more that don't come to mind.
What are yours?
Halo CE is one of the best.
I personally think the Campaign is way too repetitive.
I actually had the most fun in Halo 3 of all the games. All that split screen fun, and over 1500 hours of custom games.
Got around to replaying Halo 2. Using the PC version, have to use a controller since the mouse support is absolute shit. The mouse seems to lag and occasionally just pause moving if I aim while strafing. Keyboard support is pretty bad as well (can't crouch while moving). Everything works perfectly with a controller though.
I've only played through Halo 2 once, and that was with co-op. Left a really fragmented image of the game.

I prefer to play Halo 2 PC with controller, but I never had a single problem with Mouse or Keyboard with it, works great!
All I really want for Halo 4 is the ability to finally fly Pelicans. Please, please, add a slightly larger multiplayer with Pelicans in it.

You could fly a pelican in Halo Reach...kinda.

Doesn't work in multiplayer. Play Halo Custom Edition on Coldsnap/Extinction and you'll see what I mean.

Details on Bungie's next game!
Halo pretty much ruined FPS games. It itself is good but it started a terrible* trend of slow game play and regenerating health
That's pretty fucking dumb, even from a Youtube commenter.

Don't jump into an argument in which you don't have factual evidence to support your side.
Wasn't Halo the original FPS to start the regenerating health trend?

I was planning on thumbs downing his post, not jump into a youtube argument.
