does anyone else just wanna fucking play halo 4

I want to play any Halo right fucking now, but I recently moved to a temporary and half my belongings are in a storage pod, and someone packed most of my games, and several thousand dollars of other stuff into that pod even though the create was labeled *DO NOT PUT IN STORAGE*. So most of my investments are locked away the back of that pod until I move into the house that I currently have being constructed.

Eh, I'm not sold quite yet. I need to know MORE
Also seeing some BTB maps would be nice. I'll probably make my verdict in precisely 14 days.
I've seen a lot of clamoring for a health system. In this thread quite a few people have expressed a desire to see the health bar return, and I've seen it elsewhere, as well.
That's what I'm saying. Gameplay in Halo has generally been justified for the story, and the story likewise justified by the gameplay. When Chief's armor has auto-injectors for two games straight, and then gets an armor upgrade, it wouldn't make any sense at all for him to suddenly require health packs again. It's an upgrade, not a downgrade.
Health bar stuff made sense in the other games, but as far as Halo 4 goes, I don't see why they'd return to a health bar. It just wouldn't make any sense.
You're getting worried about the story justification when it has nothing to do with that. Again, gameplay. If 343 decided to put the health system back in, then they'd easily do it with his new set of armor. Nobody will care if it's a downgrade (aside from you and people worried about gameplay. It'd make perfect sense if they designed the game around it.

I'm indifferent to a Health system or not, but I doubt 343 would do it due to canon, yes they did modify his look, but it was all upgrades.

Really? Nobody would care? In a fandom that obsesses over continuity, and upon hearing that the main characters in Reach were going to be Spartan IIIs, threw an absolute shitfit? Nobody will care about a huge continuity error?
I think you need to familiarize yourself with Halo communities outside of Facepunch. People are incredibly eager to tear 343 apart, and a continuity error/a story bit that makes no sense is really all they need to stir up a shitstorm. 343 is being extremely cautious regarding this game, so I think they're going to stick with continuity as much as they possibly can.
Explain that the health bar is the amount of supplies for the auto-injectors
done
Explain that the health bar is the amount of supplies for the auto-injectors
done
but
that doesn't make any sense
why would you be taking health damage if you had auto-injectors left, and how would you have a health bar if you had auto injectors left?
They established in Halo 2 that the auto injector system is built into the armor, and is specifically done so that they don't have to use health packs anymore. It was a design flaw in the old Spartan armor that you needed medical supplies, so they streamlined Spartan operations in general by making it so that you don't need those extra supplies on-hand to fight.
Why do people love Health Bars so much anyways, they suck and are such an out-dated system for video games. While we're at it why don't we bring back the whole, you can hold every single weapon in the game at the same time, system?
That's because of the amount of snipers, Jet rapists and auto lock missile launcher campers that stay around the map
That's not even the biggest problem. The big problem is that Pelicans aren't fit for 16 player multiplayer. You can't take any damage in a Pelican except if someone shoots inside the cargo hold, the pelican will still have around 6 empty seats even if you cram your entire team in there, maps should be MASSIVE to have an actual use for Pelicans (but maps on this scale are simply too big for 16-player games), not to mention it could be exploited as hell (splattering would be extremely easy with a thing as big as a Pelican, and getting a killamanjaro or higher by killing a single vehicle justdoesn't work).

They could have done it right with the Falcon, but they made it so much worse in Multiplayer than it was in Singleplayer.
If it had the six seats (one driver, two gunners, and three passengers) it would have been way better, and also would have been an acceptable Pelican substitute.
Then again, I feel like they could do the Pelican in Multiplayer if they scaled it down a little tiny bit. Make it so that there's a driver who is also the gunner, and then four seats in the back. It would be a good objective game vehicle, because you could fly in and drop off a squad of people and then fly back out.
That reminds me, we haven't really seen much as far as vehicles and big maps go in Halo 4. Do you guys think they're scaling it down to be more in line with shooters like Call of Duty, or that they're just holding back that sort of stuff until later?
[editline]23rd May 2012[/editline]
I mean I don't think they're scaling it down, but yeah, it's kind of interesting to think about, since it's a new developer. I think the only thing they've shown is the new Warthog, right?

I want the Hornet to come back, superior to the Falcon in every way.
I want the Hornet to come back, superior to the Falcon in every way.
Actually, I thought changing height was way easier with the falcon than with the hornet, and the falcon was way better as a team vehicle.
the falcon was way better as a team vehicle.
Hardly, the Hornet could carry the flag at least.
Hardly, the Hornet could carry the flag at least.
That's true, I forgot about the sideseats. Apart from that, I think the Falcon was a better vehicle, those Hornet Rockets were pretty OP and while the Arctic version removed them, I still like the Falcon better where it's not a one-man vehicle.
Anyone have any idea why my Halo PC cd's are corrupt? I haven't tried installing for a while so I don't know the exact error, but when I try to install the game, it stops at 25% or so, saying a package file has been corrupted and it needs to exit. I haven't messed with the cd's at all, it's just like they magically stopped working for no goddamn reason.

Which is the very reason why the Multiplayer Falcon lost it's passenger seats in reach
I wish they tried some sort of mode with more players some time so we can have things like pelicans.
[editline]23rd May 2012[/editline]
Also, it would be awesome if some day there was some sort of realistic game / indie that made a more realistic halo. Like you are a marine, plasma is a very large threat, etc. etc.

The Pelican is a useless vehicle, (In the map) It cannot splatter anyone (I've tried running people over and others have done the same and unless your dropping on them like a pin from atop it won't work, it merely slingshots them off like on a goddamn surf map. No one even uses it as everyone else is sniping, using the amount of jets and etc around....it doesn't matter if the bullet hits a side of the wing if you get hit you will take moderate damage. It has no attack and it's transportation is useless as everyone can just die and respawn at tele heaven or hitch a jet

I'm very familiar with the Halo community, I've been around since the very beginning. People will throw fits over anything, but in reality, they're nobody. They don't matter, they'll still buy and play and love the game, regardless of the little things. I've already explained how they could add it in, but reading half of my posts seems to be popular this week.

"Chief, your new armor allows you to sprint and have an armor ability at the same time, similar to the Spartans on Reach. However, your armor is a direct upgrade of theirs, rather than your old armor. It can't carry too many medical supplies, so you'll need to find them out in the field, however, the suit will administer them for you." 343 would dress it up a bit if they had decided to go that route, of course.
You're also mistaking people explaining a possible justification for interest.

Not talking about the splattering in HCE seeing as it's obviously been improved in H2 and above, but the Pelican took seemingly no damage in some other maps. Though that's just a custom vehicle made by the community, it just proves that the Pelican is unusable and unfixable in vanilla Halo, where everything has to make sense and has to be balanced.

Yes, Coop focused? having to work with team mates to down anything bigger than a Jackal, Elites/Brutes/Hunters would require team work to kill due to sheer strength differences
Oh my god, this is just like the Fallout thread, it's a cycle:
People get news about halo 4
People argue about which kind of general aspect of the game is better
People argue about continuity and lore
People argue about new features of Halo 4
Actual discussion of Halo (20%)
Repeat.

I'd say all of that falls under discussion. Arguing would be saying that people are upset, which hasn't happened yet. Just relax and roll with it.

A BTB map has already been mentioned in one of the bulletins.
Oh. And on the subject of MP maps – we have a great variety of maps, with a good breakup of sizes and modes – but on larger maps, vehicle support was a big priority for the design team. Ironically, this is something that becomes a little easier to tune thanks to the universal inclusion of sprint. If your teammate spazzes out and sails off a cliff in your hog, you still have options.
One map in particular gave me a really excellent vibe – a mix of my favorite aspects of Blood Gulch and Waterworks. Don’t just mash those ideas up in your head to imagine the map, because that won’t really get you there. But you’ll know what I mean when you play it.
So actual discussion about Halo, according to your post is 100%
I personally think 343 should bring back the Oni (The game that Halo 1's engine is an upgraded version of, not the organization in Halo named after it) style overshield/active camo pickups in campaign like in Halo 1.
IMO made some parts of gameplay feel more fun at times, like sneaking past an entire squad of elites in T&R and causing an entire extra marine squad to spawn during the battle at the gravity lift. Or going through an entire fight without a scratch because of the extra shielding.
Where did the mongoose go?
Nobody knows......
In other news, my eyes start to hurt immediately whenever I play Reach Matchmaking. This doesn't happen with any other video games, even in the Halo series, so I don't get what's causing it.

Would be awesome, but it would never be done by 343 due it being at Bungie product that has no connections to Microsoft.

Halo 1 had those powerups, and Halo 4 is running on a (at this point very highly) upgraded version of it's engine.
This isn't an issue of touching Take2's IP, it's an issue of bringing back a gameplay element from Halo 1.
