Some skins look pretty rad, but I don't know if I'll keep using them after playing for some time. It's actually not that bad that they added them, it adds another layer of customisation that normal armour colours didn't cover.
The colours used to show off the patterns don't fit well, but that's kinda the point, they're clearly showing off how the pattern applies.
You could just not use them, or use them with more subtle colours in game (Like green/olive for the forest camo pattern, if possible)
You can change the colors, guys.

I couldn't agree more.
I just bought the Mark VI Helmet and Shoulder pads in Reach and I went back to using it in Halo 3, I don't want to have to change my appearance again in Halo 4.

Ive wanted a shield since reading Ghosts of Onyx about how the Spartan IIIs use Jackal Defence Gaunlets.
Perhaps it won't be so bad. Maybe I'm just too conservative.
In Reach I really liked the jetpack but I disliked the other abilities. Especially sprinting. There was just something less fun about it. I liked jumping around like I was in a low G environment in the colorful and non-gritty world of crazy and weird but always fun Halo action.

For some reason the CQB helmet is broken for me. I've got both of the prerequisites necessary to unlock it, but... it won't unlock.
the more halo 4 armor I see the less I like it. Aside from the chiefs which still looks....ehhhhhh to me, everything else is just bad.
And they seriously need to open beta this shit, I need a reason to get this game, just saying that its halo 4 isn't going to cut it 343.

No and I never said it would. They need to have an open beta because of all the new toys and mechanics they are adding, never mind that this is a continuation of a series that more or less ended. I'm not going to shell out 60$ for a reboot unless I know it will be good.

Chief, the guy we all play as, stuck in space. I know halo didn't end, I'm just saying up until 343 decided to continue his story, we as players were pretty much done with him. I said reboot because that's essentially what I think it is. Every thing has been revamped into the modern age of shooters.

Whenever you buy a video game these days, you take a $60 bet whether it will be good or not.
This is not a revamp. This is not some new series with Halo slapped on for good measure. It's Halo, with a few new features. If you like Halo, buy it. If not, then don't. It's that simple. It's made by a similar and equally passionate team to the last one. An Open Beta is for testing, not to satisfy players' curiosity.

Not true, this is what demos and betas are for.
I tend not to trust any one who says that all of their in house testing will produce the best quality product. I very much want to purchase and enjoy halo 4, I'm just not going to buy it on the single reason that it is halo 4.

I can't remember the last time there was a demo for a game. A true, pre-launch demo. Betas, yes, but a beta isn't an indicator. We have reviews, and we have trailers, and gameplay footage.
That's your choice, but the truth is, because it's Halo 4 that's a totally valid reason to buy it. Halo has been a series with consistently high quality games, to the extent of almost each and every one being GOTY material. Statistically and logically, it's safe to assume the game will be just as good. Reinforce that with reviews, and interpretations based on footage, and you should be able to make a decent choice. It'd be nice to have a demo, but the odds of that are slim to none.

Demo's? Yes. Beta's? No. Beta nowadays turned more into a demo seeing as everyone started doing it, but at it's core it's made for testing and fine tuning to hep the company, not to give the players an early chance to play the game. I still think big multiplayer games can profit for one, but it isn't like the game will automatically suck without one.
