Some questions from a Halo Noob who owned Halo Reach:
Is there a way I can choose based off server? Currently I can only pick a mode and it then groups me up with other people.
Is there anyway or mode where jetpacks aren't allowed?

Yeah, but even CEA provides a more authentic experience. It spruces up the game without some of the very minor feature creep CMT has. It's great if you're looking for brand new stuff, but CEA is the core halo experience with gorgeous visuals.

That's unfortunate, I'm really enjoying the Halo combat, but I just don't like jetpacks at all.
Still learning AAE, Is this ok to post here?

would be better without the music and the broken glass
Whats with the increased amount of people coming to this thread just to tell us how crap the game looks?
Wanting to play the series starting with Halo. Is it worth trying to buy/rent Halo Anniversary or should I just save my money and download CMT?
Im going to throw this out here, CMT is crap in my opinion.
Im all for adding new guns, enemies and features but turning a plateau into snowy enviroments and sticking outdated Aimpoints on SMGs doesn't make the game any better. I think they go overboard when it comes to making design changes.
Heh anyone remember that old Halo 1 crash sound?
I loved it, it sounded like someone was dropping a bag of nails.

This current iteration is definitely one of the better ones.

You can play Classic, which plays without AA's (unless they removed it, I haven't had Gold for like half a year now)
I miss the drop shield in reach. So useful, and no negative side effects.

In fact all the sound effects in Halo 1 were very memorable.
The warthog driving, the ghost floating, the crash sounds, the chaingun sound, the plasma rifle, the sentinel beam, the shotgun, the explosions...
I bet a large majority of this thread remembers exactly how all of those things sounded in Halo 1 but many less remember how they sounded in Halo 3.

I would recommend going with Halo:CE rather then Halo:CEA. The original Halo is still on the market place I think and I only recommend it because Anniversary gets rid of a lot of the mood and atmosphere from some of the best levels in Halo.

Lest us not forget our ageless reliable pal, the AR, the most memorable weapon in terms of sound I believe

Anniversary has less performance issues, and has better control schemes, which works to it's advantage

Yeah, it is painfully rare in MM, thankfully it's quite common in firefight...

Looking through some old halo maps and getting nostalgia. Especially from coagulation. I remember playing years ago.
I haven't been keeping up with halo things recently, so did something happen with the mongoose? I really liked driving it :(

It was in Reach, so, no, as far as we can tell nothing's happened to it. I'd be surprised if it didn't show up in Halo 4.
The mongoose has always seemed odd to me. It occupies this weird middle ground where I cant reliably find a use for it, but at the same time I don't want it to go.
Any one want to take bets on map remakes for halo 4?

High Ground, I hope anyway.
High Ground, I hope anyway.
My hopes are on High Ground, Blood Gulch, Hang 'Em High, and Headlong/Breakneck.
My hopes are on High Ground, Blood Gulch, Hang 'Em High, and Headlong/Breakneck.
It wouldn't be halo MP without a Blood Gulch/Canyon like map.

A man can dream.
I never really liked Blood Gulch / Coagulation
It's just too open, snipers reign supreme. I guess it's okay for a game of Snipers but otherwise I never found it enjoyable.

valhalla is a p cool map, actually. I love driving off of that little hill in warthogs.

I think reach's blood gulch falls for this more than the others. It becomes a nightmare if the other team gets a competent sniper. I never remember coagulation being to bad with it. Both snipers had a limited rage, and if you flew a banshee up to one of the 2 high up spots, it was like painting a target on your helmet. Not to mention scorpions make for great anti snipers.

And fighting over the middle.
I would love to see a remake of Headlong, Turf of even Terminal! I loved those maps!

I am certain this is hell. None of the teleporters ever change destinations, but I can never, ever, remember which ones go where.
