I am talking for my own person experience with Halo 4 (from playing it at E3, and sitting in on a couple playtesting sessions) That the general public HAS NOT seen all of Halo 4's armor variants.

Of course, considering the circumstances, neither the Humans or the Covenant could of really expected the former to actually [i]win[/i] the trilogy's war, really. And even that was due to the Elites helping the Humans, the Ark, and the Flood ultimately; something tells me that if the Human-Covenant War continued without those interferances, Humanity would've lost this time.

I just beat Uplift Reserve on Normal without taking the drivers seat, Warthog flipped once, and I died once, but the death was at the very end before you drive off the cliff.
