My only qualms about this game is that the Guards/Heroes can't be controlled, therefore sometimes they just leave monsters alone while they burn your village down, or there is a great battle in a field waiting to happen, but you just can't move them there.
You're missing the whole point of the game...
Are the maps going to be bigger?
They'd best still have a temple of Fervis.

I always made high level heroes and named them after people I knew...
Seriously hope the full game has larger maps...
My only qualms about this game is the game
I fixed it for you, much better to read.
The website you posted for the demo is down, and google is telling me the demo will be out September 15th.
I think this is a mirror http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IE1X6NXF
They'd best still have a temple of Fervis.
Yeah, I need to build my army of gay elves to defeat the evil around the land How well does this run on a low-end system?
Very well. I have a 3 year old PC(with a 7 year old processor) and it runs really great maxed out at 1280x1024.
Game runs great for me and I have an average rig.
Seriously hope the full game has larger maps...
Majesty 1 maps ranged from teeny tiny to obnoxiously large, so I'm sure it will.
Hey guys I invented rogue rushes.
Yeah, I need to build my army of gay elves to defeat the evil around the land How well does this run on a low-end system?
I haven't tried it, but my system isn't really top of the line and it runs without any hiccups (in game.)
Yeah, I need to build my army of gay elves to defeat the evil around the land How well does this run on a low-end system?
Probably. Q6600 and 9600GT runs maxed smoothly.
I think this is a mirror http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IE1X6NXF
Thanks!
Wish they had one sandbox game to play in the demo, I don't like playing Survival over and over.
Wish they had one sandbox game to play in the demo, I don't like playing Survival over and over.
It'll be out on Tuesday (US) and Friday (EU). Not too long a wait.
It should be out in the EU already.
Very well. I have a 3 year old PC(with a 7 year old processor) and it runs really great maxed out at 1280x1024.
7 year old processor means nothing by the way. You could have a high-powered processor that is still good by today's standards. A little unlikely, but still.
I had no idea it was almost release day.
Man I really want to play some sandbox
Rogues most certainly are not useless. They have a stun and get extra money for you. I just got through a game with 2 wizards, and they kick ass if you get them past level 10 and get the firestorm spell. I suggest finding a different game, then.
I'm not saying I don't like it, just that sometimes it gets annoying since I am used to those type of strategy games. And what do you mean the basis of the entire game, I thought this was just a kingdom sim?
Things not in the demo but in the full game: Temple to Dauros. Teaches Paladins. As opposed to the first Majesty, in Majesty 2 Paladins are male. Temple to Krolm. Teaches Blademasters, spiritual descendents of the Barbarians from the first Majesty. Temple to Helia. Teaches the Archers of Helia – dark-skinned blond men with blue eyes, who are very capable archers. Temple to Fervus. Teaches Beastmasters – followers of the druids from the first Majesty. They combine the skills of both ranger and druid. Portal that lets heroes teleport about. Walls. You'll be able to save one hero per mission as a Lord. You can hire one of your previous Lords per mission- 2 if you build a Hall of Lords. Lords will arrive in the same state that they were when you saved them as one, IE make a level 32 wizard a Lord and you'll get a level 32 wizard when you hire him in later missions. Gnomes probably won't make an appearance due to balancing issues.
7 year old processor means nothing by the way. You could have a high-powered processor that is still good by today's standards. A little unlikely, but still.
Not really. I can't play almost any of the games that have been released in the past 2 years so I get them on consoles instead. Going to be doing a full on $600+ upgrade next year though.
Gnomes probably won't make an appearance due to balancing issues.
Good night sweet prince...
Good night short prince...
Fixed that for you. :3:
Thank god. I hated gnomes. I mean... okay they were useful because they were like peasants except built 5x faster and were basically the weak "zergling" class, but I never liked using them, but HAD to in order to get things out faster than any opponents. [editline]02:37AM[/editline]
I'm not saying I don't like it, just that sometimes it gets annoying since I am used to those type of strategy games. And what do you mean the basis of the entire game, I thought this was just a kingdom sim?
It is, but it's a kingdom "sim" in the same way that Black and White 1/Sim City were god/mayor sims. In those games you never actually had direct control over what happened, you only influenced and sent "commands" while the AI decided what it wanted to do on it's own "free will". So, it's not really an RTS because there isn't really armies involved. You control your ultimate fantasy kingdom, but you don't directly control the heroes in your kingdom, they have their own "free will", wants, AI, etc. Now you can influence them by putting rewards/bounties on things by spending money, which will influence certain types to heros to do certain things (such as a rouge, while weak, most likely will only do something for money, compaired to a ranger who may or may not be influenced as much but will hunt on his own free will, etc..). What was really funny is that this could work against you in multiplayer for majesty 1. Such as if an enemy kingdom has put a really high bounty on your castle, it wasn't uncommon to see your own rouges starting to attack your castle for the bounty money the other king placed. There's everything you'd "excpect" out of your generic fantasy RPG for your heroes to have too. They gain levels, are more likely to fight something if they feel powerful, etc. The key is to build your kingdom in ways that make your heroes the best, and to expand your "influence", much like Black and White. Or build the right combination of temples/guilds/guards etc, to survive/win, etc. Spending your economy and influencing it, etc.
The heroes will react to monster attacks based upon a number of variables, including strength of the enemy, number of enemies in the fight, how many allies are aiding him, how strong his allies are, equipment, health, etc. When a hero decides that the battle is not in his favor, he'll flee. Higher level heroes have a lot more confidence and will go up against stronger monsters. Flags will also influence whether or not the hero will keep fighting. Heroes tend to stay in combat longer against a monster with a high bounty rather than flee early. A level 2 wizard will shit his pants if a skeleton looks at him funny, but a level 30 wizard will go around raping bearmen and vampires. [editline]09:18PM[/editline] But yeah it's a shame that gnomes are out. They were so helpful in setting up, even if I killed them off to make room for dwarves later on. :( [editline]09:28PM[/editline] Also the US release is 9/15 while EU is 9/18. America wins.
I preordered the game on steam today. Been playing Majesty Gold all night. I can't wait to send off my heroes to attack a dragons nest I know will spawn like 10 dragons when it explodes. Just like a king in DnD :3 Also, in honor of the deaths of all gnomes everywhere: "But I'm just... a GNOOOOOOME" Clearly those rotten elves are behind this...
