The Majesty 1 game had a lot of missions, and they ranged from easy-hard, and a lot of them took a good chunk of time.
Does the singleplayer look that lengthy?
Only about 10-15 missions, plus 6ish extra missions like the survival one in the demo. Also looks like there's going to be another northern expansion because the north half of the map is cut off.
I was gonna check out the multiplayer, but there were 0 people playing.

Damn, no skirmish option? I liked the game as I thought MP wasn't the centre focus. Is the SP portion still worth the price of the game?

Fuck, I usually played skrimish (or whatever it was called) on Majesty 1, it was awesome and had a lot of customization options (like events and monsters).

I'd say at this point only get the game if you were a big fan of the original. There's definitely some features missing. Not worth the $40 price tag unless you really liked the original.
Hopefully skirmish will get patched in.

What kind of features are missing (except for skirmish of course)?
-AI isn't too great
-1 new hero type, many removed
-Many buildings removed (no fairgrounds)
-Not much variation in missions (build all hero types, research upgrades, win)
-Underwhelming number of missions

That's what was always good about majesty, not nessicarily the story mode but the multiplayer and just free-form modes where you could do what you want.
I never played any Majesty but heard of it and made a research, now I'm quite hyped but then people in this thread make me sad about the game.

Multiplayer is 4 player, no AI, no coop, and from what I hear it's decent.
There is no sandbox/skirmish mode.

I think they said that random map making was outside the limits of their engine.
everybody bitch about it in the thread _Sniper_ made. Apparently they're watching it and sending info back to the devs.
