Oh FFS, then also tell how to get the editor
Oh FFS, then also tell how to get the editor
Run Majesty 2 with -editor in the command line.
Great game, doing the mission with the king of rats, having done the Shadows of the Past and the Royal Feat. Wish there was skirmish though =/
I decided to just be an idiot on the king rat mission, and I just built up a huge city and then big a fat bounty on his head so that every time he popped his head up he'd get mobbed by ranged attackers. I did that until he was down to about 20k HP and then got bored and went and got the cheese.
How do you get established in the King Rat mission or the mission with the Wizard that keeps being a bitch?
How do you get established in the King Rat mission or the mission with the Wizard that keeps being a bitch?
Rat mission: Build rangers, and lots of them Wizard mission: Build a wizards guild and immediately level it up
God...I hated the rat king mission, because I could never get my hero's to defend the damn thing, eventually I just put a bounty on EVERYTHING in the area over there, so the hero's would be in the general area and would keep it alive by general proximity....though when the rat king came out I put every coin in the treasury on it, and it turned into a "WoW-ish Raid" of sorts, since the Bounty was like...7500 on it, every single hero was swarming him XD
Does anyone know how to beat the mission where you need to get somthing like 32,000 gold by day 35 (or something like that) because I have no idea how to do it? The entire time you get attacked and the there aren't any trade posts close by... they traders that pop up also tend to get killed in like 2 seconds after they spawn by some random elemental just sitting right next to the trading post. So my guys can't get over there fast enough to protect it.
Has anyone managed to do anything with that editor, assuming it's the real deal? I just love the idea of several heroes and that you don't directly have any control over them, but I hate the fact that there's no skirmish of any sort.. I'd love to play custom games, just providing weaponry and stuff for my heroes so they can level up and generally just follow them roam around.. I like games like that :D Also, sorry for the minor bump.
I can't say I'm happy with Majesty 2. It's not that I wanted it exactly the same as Majesty 1, but really, everything is different. They wanted to go with a later setting, hence how it's not gothic anymore, but changing it to a very cartoony look? The original wasn't exactly realistic, but it had a considerable degree of it. The design of the second really killed it for me, it just isn't what I'd see in a sequel to one of my favourite games. I also hate the design of all the new heroes, the only one I like is the dwarfs. I don't want to go on a massive rant, but really, while Majesty 2 is fun, it's not Majesty, and I had to convince myself that is was another game before I could get away from the disappointment and start actually having fun.
One of the bigger disappointments of year for me really. The lack of a skirmish or even a multiplayer mode didn't help matters much either.
People are generally dissapointed with Majesty 2. Especially with certain cut features and the boredom setting in due to no Skirmish mode.
It's not those factors that bother me the most, it's just that... Well, it's not Majesty, is it? The only aspect of Majesty is the gameplay, and even then, it's worse than the original due to the shitty AI. Nothing else is like Majesty, especially not the art direction. I'm so disappointed with this game, especially since I spent most of my younger years playing the first religiously.

They just released a patch improving the AI too

I really think that Majesty 2 is another Spore, it could have been great, but they butchered it for some reason.
Yeah the art style was a letdown for me too, but I can ignore that, the big problem is the lack of skirmish and the AI. You may be glad to know that the new patch (not yet out on Steam I think) fixes the AI somewhat, and that in the next devlog they said they would talk about "Randomness in Majesty 2", so there seems to be hope.
The problem they're facing with implenting Skirmish is that they''ve licensed the engine is a unfortunate restrictve way. So they have to go through hoops and shit to not break the contract and still modifying the engine to allow skirmish options.
It's registered so that they can make story missions and unrelated survival missions but no unrelated survival missions that you can modify a bit? Ridiculous.
Personally, they should get rid of the team who did Majesty 2 and hand it over to somebody else for a Majesty 3, that actually lives up to the original.

They had to cut this, do that differently, make this harder etc. Who ever thought up of the contract should be shot in the knee.
Did i hear pandemic in that video? :frown:
-snip- shit, wrong thread.
This rat mission is PISSING ME OFF. I can't build anything before all the rats swarm out of nowhere and slaughter everyone I've ever known.
So after you put in the -editor, then what do you do? I've tried this and didn't see anything extra. Are there codes I need to type into the chat window? The fucking Ogre is really pissing me off! Please advise.
