Always reminds me of that picture "I raff I ruse?"
Well the only console element seen so far is the streamlined interface and controls, but it's not like you need 9 million hotkeys to command regiments and brigades.
Yeah, Men of War was very complicated it's hard to get into even though it's very fun. Simplicity is a pro for this game.
B17 Flying Fortress for 45 dollars. Awesome. WWII + Supreme Commander + Large Scale + awesome graph + something from Total War? No shit, where is pre-order
Wow i actually just noticed everyone on facepunch don't like sequals to some games and they don't like WWII games or future type games.... so that leaves us with modern, yet still some people on here don't like modern either...
I thought that trailer was pretty cool.
Well the only console element seen so far is the streamlined interface and controls, but it's not like you need 9 million hotkeys to command regiments and brigades.
Streamlined interface and controls are ok I guess, just as long as they don't restrict the camera or stuff like that.
This game looks amazing. I hope it has a system of battle like Medieval Total War.
Well I do I hope they will add in features like morale and retreating.
Oh god yes! I love WW2 games! Finally someone did something new! This is going to be sex! :D Also, you guys should stop comparing every new WW2 RTS games with CoH.
Holy fuck! THIS LOOKS AMAZING! I've got to get this, I just have to, this is awesome! I sure hope that there will be "playing tables" like the one in the trailer in the future, would be so much fun to sit and play then, like you are playing a game of chess. One thing the concerns me is that they might have to dumb the game down a lot so that you can play it on consoles. (Don't get me wrong, I have a PS3 myself so I'm not flaming the consoles, just that rts games usually have to be simplified on consoles and to make it the same across all platforms the pc version will be dumbed down aswell.) Amazing game nontheless! Any release date set yet?
Well I do I hope they will add in features like morale and retreating.
I seriously hope they will never put retreating in this game because it just ruins alot of strategies.
Only thing I don't like is how they are going "Let's make everything simple so everyone can understand"
Looks awesome
Just found out that this game is gonna involve base building! Woohoo!
Just found out that this game is gonna involve base building! Woohoo!
As long as the bases are just bases and not things that can produce tanks in a minute, I'm fine.
This looks freakin awesome.

It's transitioning them, thankfully, from the old AOE style rock-paper-scissors combat and swarming (although SupCom proved that this type of gameplay can still be awesome) to actual tactics and strategy. Now if someone can apply this to a grander-type strategy game like this appears to be, it'd be great. Personally, i've always wanted a mix of Hearts of Iron II's grand strategy side and Company of Heroes' tactics. Imagine fighting battles for regions in Hearts of Iron II on a CoH style tactical map where your troops are just called in at the beginning without production buildings. (Reinforcements from surrounding regions could be called in, and air support in the region could also be called upon.) With the ruse tactics in this added, it seems to me like it could be an awesome game if anyone actually made it. But anyway, unfortunately it appears that this game is going back to the rock-paper-scissors combat without anything I can see resembling tactical management. Even with pretty graphics, watching house sized soldiers get blown up by tanks and falling over will not be entertaining.
What if you multiple battles at multiple fronts? It would be a real pain to resolve all of them in tactical scale when the grand strategy portion would be in real time also.
If you think CoH has really in-depth tactics, you should try Men of War! :D
Saving for it. To be honest they're pretty different games, Company of Heroes is a bit more casual obviously, but it isn't a worse game because of it. It's like comparing Insurgency to ArmA.
If you think CoH has really in-depth tactics, you should try Men of War! :D
Men of War is terrible and doesn't include any real tactics. It's all about the luck of your units hitting an enemies head, it also includes a terrible AI. Besides, tank spamming kills anything off in that game, there's almost no point in infantry since they get killed by pretty much everything.
I'll definitely take a look at this when it's released.
looks meh
no
good complete argument ya got there
if men of war is anything like SHOWW2 then AT grenades are incredibly useful against tanks, infantry can sneak around and wait in ambush which makes it deadlier than a column of armor sometimes.
no
Wow, your founded arguments are great, I pretty much got served here.
if men of war is anything like SHOWW2 then AT grenades are incredibly useful against tanks, infantry can sneak around and wait in ambush which makes it deadlier than a column of armor sometimes.
The problem resides within the fact that battles in MoW are completely random. A rocket may do nothing to a tank even if it hits the rear or send the whole crew running on fire.
