Does anyone have any good custom scopes?
This might not be all fancy and pretty like most of the other scopes, but I'd bet money that it will out-do them in pure efficiency: I don't know where the link is now, but if I can find it, I'll give it to you.
Strange things happen on the Peacefarm, the location of the picture. [editline]1st July 2011[/editline] Don't judge a book by it's cover; The base seems small, but it's gigantic from the inside. We made rooms and alot of tunnels. The Green, for some reason, always took the same route. So we killed them once they appeared on the hill.
Don't make me post an alot made out of tunnels.

Pinpoint is currently one of the most intense maps. Thank you SMG.
Peace.
Traitorous greens. Never would a true member of the Green Master Race ever even consider peace with the disgusting Blue-trash.
Seriously guys, this isn't 4chan, why do we have to be extremely bigoted towards each other when our only difference is the color of our uniforms?
Seriously guys, this isn't 4chan, why do we have to be extremely bigoted towards each other when our only difference is the color of our uniforms?
The proud Blue race could never even consider civility towards gutter filth like green.
Seriously guys, this isn't 4chan, why do we have to be extremely bigoted towards each other when our only difference is the color of our uniforms?
We don't really hate eachother, its for the awesome intense-ness that occurs when we do.

Making terrain takes so long. My map would be finished weeks ago if it was faster :frown:
Suddenly I felt a lot less confident in my decision to charge straight in...
I played on that map yesterday. The Greens had a huge base like that, too. It took us about a half hour of throwing grenades and shooting it to take down the whole thing.
So some crazy shit just happened on the Aloha US West server. The server has been on the same map for ages so the Blues decided to have a little fun. It took a hell of a lot of effort, but they managed to make a bunch of huge fucking mountains collapse. Check it out: This is the first one they destroyed. It was roughly the same height as the one in the background. ...Which they also got rid of, though it took a hell of a lot longer. The red circles are all mountains that they demolished. I didn't get any screenshots of the huge chunks of mountain as they fell, but it was truly an epic sight. Was anyone else there?
wow that's the server I was in, I helped!
Anyone else is having loads of lag/random FPS drops?
I do sometimes, but it's rare.

Needs mortars
Also, since the rifle cone is in, whole game is Deuce simulator to those who used to hit head every single time.
Also, since the rifle cone is in, whole game is Deuce simulator to those who used to hit head every single time.
And the iron sights got fucked with also unplayable for me
I can play it fine. Dunno' what the fuss is all about.
The only problem is that the iron sights are really tiny. other than that they're pretty much accurate, but from a larger distance it's easy to miss. My only complaint about the game as of right now is that the SMG is able to demolish entire structures in minutes. One thing's stopping the enemy from shooting back at you, and one's destroying the cover that the enemy is using! And I'm talking about ten second demolitions, I've seen enitre buildings getting destroyed by a single guy using an SMG.
My only complaint about the game as of right now is that the SMG is able to demolish entire structures in minutes.
Speaking of which, the SMG seems to have become a new favorite for griefers. Really annoying when you've got three guys destroying a friendly building faster than it can be repaired.
On every server I've seen we build a giant fortress only to have three fuckwads sit in the resupply tent unloading on it.
the shot spread on the rifle is pissing me off I used to pull shit like this with no problem without needing resupply now it takes 20 shots just to hit something at max range instead of one
If he added in a cone then I'm not getting back to this. Keep monitoring the thread it case it changes, but fuck that noise.
Speaking of which, the SMG seems to have become a new favorite for griefers. Really annoying when you've got three guys destroying a friendly building faster than it can be repaired.
That's the biggest problem. IMO SMG shouldn't have the ability to destroy blocks.
If he added in a cone then I'm not getting back to this. Keep monitoring the thread it case it changes, but fuck that noise.
Someone actually made a thread about this (http://ace-spades.com/forums/topic.php?id=3011) today on the official forums and Ben responded to the thread, here are his two posts:
I hear you guys - I thnk the cone of fire for both weapons will be reduced in the future. I'll explain some game mechanics to make things clear though. Movement/stance affect recoil Moving+jumping is the worst, crouching and stationary is the best. Also Ironsights affect accuracy (the cone of fire) by a signifiacant amount. I still think both weapons are easymode if you play with the game mechanics instead of fighting it but for sure there will be tweaks in the future.

Yeah, the huge crate heads is the reason I didn't want things to be pinpoint accurate - especially when the rifle can get headshot kills on semi-auto. And yes the recoil pattern is cyclical and predictable on purpose - it can be controlled if you really wanted to take the time to master it
It's more than just the cone of fire though. Ben said that hit detection was still client side, but that "hit verification" was now server side. I have no freaking idea what "hit verification" is, but it sure as hell feels like hit detection is now server side, thus ruining the level playing field that was established by the original client side hit detection. I unloaded 4 rounds into someone's head (I was able to see the blood spray as well), just to have them turn around and nail me with one shot. This particular person also lived in the UK (we were playing on a US-based server). If any of you have played games with server-side hit detection, then you'll know about the advantage provided by those with high ping. Quite frankly, this shit is annoying. Everyone was equal from the very first release up to 0.52, now it's just not that fun anymore. The good news is that a lot of people are complaining about it, meaning he might just switch it back (or at least get rid of the "server-side hit verification"). There was no need to implement this in the first place; there are no aimbots for this game, nor are there any hacks that exploited the client-side hit detection. The one thing that's starting to get on my nerves is the fact that no matter how many times people on the official forums ask Ben why he did this, he refuses to answer.
I loved this game when I first learned of it because it was a contest of reflexes that still allowed for tactics. The one gun with pinpoint accuracy put everyone on an even playing field. The huge maps forced players to put survival and vigilance as their top priority, but the rolling hills allowed for flanking. However, the recent updates ruined everything I ever liked about the game. The rifle nerf, partly intentional, partly unintentional, makes the SMG the clear winner of the two guns and also removes any reward for reflexes or skill. Additionally, almost every server runs custom maps and those maps are invariable two flat platforms separated by a huge gap. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of custom maps and I understand it's out of the control of the developer(s), but there either needs to be better maps or more servers running default maps.
