fucking gamefly
I missed out on getting it shipped to me because they got my game in the same day they start shipping it
Here's some shots I took of the first mission. Max settings.

Are there any PLA single player missions? It would really suck if the single player was just all MAREENS KICKAN ASS
The Mission Editor is pretty darn easy to use. I love it.
What's the point without decent MP? Could've been great.

That's good to hear. I can barely find any details on the editor and it's one of the main things keeping me unsure about getting Flashpoint.
Are there any urban environments in Skira or is it all small rural towns?

From what I can see it's all jungle, theres a few areas like a harbor, quarry and small villages, lots of military warehouses, a lighthouse and some other odds and ends.
I will get this game in few hours, i just want to ask about one thing that made ARMA 2 suck:
How is the optimisation?
How is the controls? are they good like in COD4 or delayed like in ARMA 2?
ps. yes, i spent many hours in arma 2 and i liked it, but it could been better.
Some editor footage

Wrong Flashpoint. Thanks for getting my hopes up though.
The game is fail, wth is up with the quick commad? They should call it fuck command since it pisses you off everytime you use is. Press Q and a wheel comes up then use fucking W,A,S,D. To fucking jump around in the menu and then choose the command and press Q again. Holy shit. It got no trackir5 support, the controls are obviously a console port and the movement bland and boring.
The graphics is poor, but i laughed somewhat when i blew some chinese head off.
Arma 2 looks way better but hell Dragon Rising will probably run on any midrange system "unlike arma 2". But the graphics was also a major let down, the gameplay to.
It's a console port, what do you expect?
A pc game.
It is a game, just because it doesn't make full use of your $5000 setup doesn't make it any less fun.
Small HUD is small.
I hate that.

Both of your points are fixed in ArmA2 now, you can make it steer exactly like CoD4 if you wished. And from how OFP2 turned out, i'm happy i got ArmA2.

Yeah, i don't like OFP2 too much... just played it.
I haven't played ARMA 2 for a long time, did some patch came out?
oh lawdy lawd.
This game is fucking horrible. I'm still lolling from the major dissapointment that this game is to the millions of rabid fans who insisted it would be good.
Sorry, back to ArmA 2.
Just played it, I think it's really good even though a little more distant to reality.
The first most obvious aspect would be OFP:DR being optimized very good while having respectable graphics. Once you get used to the command menu(s) I think it should be easy to use. I also think the AI is way superior that ARMA II's in some aspects. For example, enemys don't just avoid moving into buildings like in ARMA but go into them and shoot out of the windows.
One weird thing was a enemy helicopter going down after we shot him (with normal machineguns) right above us and the driver/passenger getting out.
(Boxes incoming from mayor console gaming haters and ARMA II addicts)
Just finished playing a lil. I love this game except.. FOV 60 :sigh:
Are there jets ingame?

Video of all the vehicles. Arma 2 had more, and no jets?!!
[editline]02:01PM[/editline]
But, the game allows you to add scopes and accessories. Something which Arma 2 can't do.

I'm not going to box you, because I'm not a faggot and that was a reasonable post.
But regarding the AI in OFP2:DR, the AI in the missions is heavily scripted from what I could tell at certain points.
Well, I've yet to play it, but I think it looks alright. I sure as hell am not going to put it down because it was designed for consoles
I might get it. The mission editor is the real pull factor for me.
Whoops. One of my guy's got angry :v:

Hahaha.
The mission editor in OFP2:DR is fucking terrible. It's basically pick a scenario and place units. It lacks the fidelity of a true mission editor, like the one in ArmA 2, which allows you to script functions and create much more indepth missions.
Couple this with the fact that it's nigh impossible to mod anything on OFP2:DR, I don't see this game hanging around for long at all.

Judging by your earlier posts and this one... you sound like a ArmA 2 fanboy. I'll try OFP now and see if your right. If you really are right, I'll say sorry to you!

Complexity = Simplicity
Something both games lack.
FUCK I saved at a checkpoint where ten seconds later a gunship comes and kills my entire team in a few shots without warning HOW DO I KILL IT
FUCK I saved at a checkpoint where ten seconds later a gunship comes and kills my entire team in a few shots without warning HOW DO I KILL IT
shoot at it with bullets until it dies
shoot at it with bullets until it dies
When it gets into the range I can shoot it, either my entire team is dead or I am dead
If I get past that checkpoint, it's too late for the Hydra to land because the AA isn't taken down because you have to literally sprint across the battlefield with hundreds of soldiers to get there
MP system SUCKS ASS. It's a goddamn lobby system where you have to wait unless everyone is ready or owner starts the game. A real pain if you want to play on 32 man server.
