How the fuck do I call fire support from the binocs?
I always seem to have to use my C4.
You aim at the point you want to call support on, press right shift and then navigate trough the menus and select what you want to call on.
What the hell?
I jumped out of a fast moving helicopter without a parachute (are there any btw.?) and he didn't instantly die on impact but was "down but not out".
Finally came today, only played the first few missions but I'm enjoying it.
I'm glad that I stuck with ArmA 2.

Thanks, I'll try this asap.
The Dragon Rising campaign is so much better when co-oping with friends. I just finished it after about 3 days with the same 4 people and it was fun as hell.
Where in the hell is the helicopter on the first mission?
I played this, and it might have been the worst game I have ever played. Nothing was fun about it, at all!
Anyone got completed saves for the campaign? I'm tired of incompetent friendly AI and timed objectives.
I played this, and it might have been the worst game I have ever played. Nothing was fun about it, at all!
Aw shucks, now you've done it. You're obviously an ArmA 2 fanboy.
/sarcasm
Where the hell is the demo? Asses haven't released it yet.
Well, it is.
Because you're an ArmA2 fanboy, as you said.
You can't quite grasp this concept.
You know, I'm glad you make it so obvious you're a retard. I know I can just ignore you and I won't miss anything important.
I didn't say this because I like Arma 2. I didn't say this because I haven't played OFP2 much yet. I said it because you are such an unrelenting cock that it takes a 3rd party to come in and tell you to shut the fuck up.

Haha
:iceburn:
I'm almost done through the campaign on normal, it's so much fun, I love it.
If anyone in Europe wants to play, add me as friend. It's my FP username.
We need more Aussie players... :(

Better get a fourth party then, because that sure as hell didn't work.

Quick! Straw man! I totally said that if you dislike the game you're an ArmA fanboy!
Who gives a flying FUCK what the entire tactical gaming community gives a shit about?

So, ArmA2 is a good game to a very small amount of people?
Do you ever wonder why it isn't mainstream?

You just answered for yourself why it isn't very good, and isn't mainstream.
It isn't a game.

Because you're an ArmA2 fanboy, as you said.
I played this, and it might have been the worst game I have ever played. Nothing was fun about it, at all!
Why do people think that a game has to be mainstream to be good? Why can't they accept that not everybody wants to play COD? Some people like realism. I don't see people attacking Flight Simulator, why is ARMA any different? I think that people see it and think that because it's a first person simulation with a gun, it's GOT to be COD or else it isn't good.
The argument here isn't whether OFP2 is good or not, it's whether it's actually worthy of being called OFP2.
Just because somebody likes realistic simulations over SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT KILL KILL DEATH FUCK KILLINGSPREE!!!!, it doesn't make them a fanboy. It just makes them the sort of person who enjoys OFP. Or ARMA. Or OFP2, if they hadn't just consolised and simplified it. Kids these days... *Expects everybody to ignore everything I just said and carry on about how I'm stupid for liking ARMA*
So, for the people who have actually played OFP2 so far, what are the differences between it and ArmA 2, and what's your overall opinion?

I do see people attacking flight simulators.
The point is, flight simulators can be horrendously realistic, but at the same time a working game. The problem with ArmA was that yes it had that realism, but it had so many bugs, glitches and game breaking moments that saying it's a good game is just wrong.
By "consolizing" OPF2, they've made it a playable game. They've done something that Bohemia couldn't do. The review of OPF2 on RPS makes a very good point. Bohemia and Codemasters should never have split. Bohemia can't make a game and Codemasters can't make a simulator.
People didn't dislike ArmA2 because they play a ton of CoD or some shit, reviewers disliked/reviewed it poorly it because it was a broken game. You make it sound like most magazines and websites just got a random FPS dude in to review it, when in actuality they probably got the simulation guy to play.
Edge Magazine says: "ArmA 2 isn’t just dogmatic and unforgiving – it’s also very awkward in its construction and the weight of its ambition frequently proves too much for the sometimes-brilliant main campaign to pull off. Nonetheless, its vast, detailed world and unapologetic dynamism turn the game from sandbox to snowglobe – something you can’t resist shaking up just to see how it looks."
PCGamer UK says in their review: "If there's one thing I'd beg of Bohemia, it's to take a good look at the AI.
The inconsistency is more than comedic: there are frozen enemies, stuck allies, ridiculous vehicle crashes and awkward movement to contend with. It never functions 100% correctly, and makes the fidelity they're striving so hard for impossible to achieve. After all that work to make a believable world, the beautiful graphics and astonishing sound, it's a kick in the teeth to allow the game to break. I may not be a trained soldier, but to all intents and purposes the NPCs are. They shouldn't be killing tents as often as they kill the enemy"
People love ArmA, hell I loved ArmA, WHEN IT WORKED. But those moments were few and far between.

Better AI, easier movement, easier to set up, not as realistic.
Incomparable. Play ArmA if you have the time to look for a good server and get a ton of friends, play OPFlash2 if you want borderline CoD-Realism
Am I the ONLY person who's NEVER experienced any faults with ArmA 1 and 2?
I find it fun in the editor if you make a bunch of bad guys and give them no ammo, they chase you with knives, kinda like zombies.
haha i should try this one time
If you want to make BF2 a more realistic game, try downloading the Project Reality mod. It's way better than BF2 / OFP2...
Am I the ONLY person who's NEVER experienced any faults with ArmA 1 and 2?
Same. What are the bugs Cloak raider was talking about?
^ we know. thats not what this thread is about...
[editline]01:24PM[/editline]
hey guys. how the fuck do enable artillery and mortars in the mission editor?
Same. What are the bugs Cloak raider was talking about?
Vehicle Physics, several times rather than getting out of helicopters in missions got stuck in them and then fell 400 feet to my death when they flew off, evac helicopters crashing before they reach us, AI refusing to obey orders, AI running into walls, some bugs concerning mouse movement, collision.
At least in OPF2 the fucking bots don't use wallhacks and aimbots, unlike ARMA2.
Also, the sounds are so much better than the robot..."ENEMYTANK1000METERSSOUTHWEST"

You sir sound like you were one of the many that just got frustrated from being killed in arma and blamed it on the game. Seriously. Did you even play any patched version of arma 2? They put the wrong shit on the DVD because of a retarded publisher, the first fucking patch that came out a day or so after release fixed all the shit you whined about.
A lot of game reviewers DID give arma 2 a bad score due to difficulty. They just won't admit it because they're supposed to be supremely skilled gaming masters or some stupid shit like that. It's simply not a game you play like other FPSes and so many reviewers got that wrong and died, then blamed it on bugs because of a few (now fixed) LOD pop ins they saw every now and then.
