You sir sound like you were one of the many that just got frustrated from being killed in arma and blamed it on the game. Seriously. Did you even play any patched version of arma 2? They put the wrong shit on the DVD because of a retarded publisher, the first fucking patch that came out a day or so after release fixed all the shit you whined about. A lot of game reviewers DID give arma 2 a bad score due to difficulty. They just won't admit it because they're supposed to be supremely skilled gaming masters or some stupid shit like that. It's simply not a game you play like other FPSes and so many reviewers got that wrong and died, then blamed it on bugs because of a few (now fixed) LOD pop ins they saw every now and then.
You sir, sound like one of the people that claim that people don't like a game they like, because they aren't good at it as a mere cop-out. That's as dumb a comment as the people that say "only people who aren't good at CS:S don't like it" And no, the "first fucking patch that came out a day or so after release fixed all the shit you whined about", didn't. Playing on the latest patch and most, if not all, of these issues still exist. All the bugs aren't fixed, stop being thick. [editline]01:27PM[/editline]
Then explain how me and thousands of others have played ArmA and ArmA 2 for many years.
Because playing =/= not experiencing bugs
Cloak Raider, people like different things. Just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean that everybody else shouldn't either. Don't you dare start arguing with people who say they've enjoyed games, it's not up to you to determine which games people think are fun.
I was looking forward to OFP 2 but then I bought ArmA 2 and I'm happy with it... But still I will look into OFP 2 in the Steam Winter Sale

There is a difference between arguing what people find fun or not, and what game has more polish, and the reasons why some people don't like ArmA. Funnier because professional was the one who started saying how OPF2 was shit and how ArmA2 is much better and how Codemasters are liars etc.
So my big question is. ARMA II or OFP2? I have played OFP Elite for the xbox and absolutely loved it. I hear a lot of bad rumors about OFP2 such as lack of servers constant lag and it seems to me judging from videos everyone does TDM which i personally hate I prefer a nice custom made mission and cooping with my clan or friends. So as a gamer who enjoyed OFP Elite (which is like all the first OFP's) what would you suggest to me? ARMA II or OFP2?
Arma 2
to me it looks like BF:BC without DMM
Arma 2
Thank you = ]
to me it looks like BF:BC without DMM
BF:BC doesn't have DMM.
whats DMM lol ?

And it's really good fun playing infiltration with friends. Depends on what you want in a game.
whats DMM lol ?
Objects break realistically instead of an object replacement or an animation that is exactly the same everytime. For example, shoot some wooden stuff in source, it gets replaced by wooden stakes. With DMM you see the object break in a realistic way while its model hasn't been replaced but just broken. Ugh, I keep dying on the second mission.

ArmA II is essentially a heavily updated version of OFP.
So games need to be COD with ragdolls, DMM, and on a console to be good? Get out consolefags.
Wow. I'm trying to find someone I can play with (most of the servers are lagging and/or australian) and everyone talks about how everyone else is an armafag?
Ugh, I keep dying on the second mission.
I got passed that. But defending the town in the third mission is incredibly fucking stupid. The AI has no idea what to do. They won't listen to orders, they hate firing, and the enemy just doesn't die. When you have to put a full clip in to an enemy's head for him to go down, there is an issue. I've played the town defense at least thirty times, and it just doesn't want to work. I tell the second guy to get on the turret right next to the building, and the idiot runs off in to the woods straight in to a support gunner and is cut down. My legs, arms, and chest are full of holes, I'm calling for the medic, and he's hiding behind the building. The support gunner in the squad just refuses to fire his gun. Of those thirty times, he only fired it once to shoot ten shots. [editline]12:07PM[/editline] I mean, five of those thirty times, when the Hydra is leaving, it fires directly in to me, blowing me the fuck up. The last time I played, it started to lift in to the air, and it blew up about ten meters up.
-snip- I'm fucking blind
One thing bothers me so fucking much This is supposed to be a realistic simulator game And they have fucking explosive barrels. Come on! Even my little brother knows that barrels don't explode if you shot at them. Jesus Christ. And the checkpoints are awful, never when you want them.

The last time I played, it started to lift in to the air, and it blew up about ten meters up.
Haha, I had the complete opposite happen to me. Once, the helicopter just landed in the middle of that field where most enemies come from and it actually helped me by using that minigun it has. The second time, the pilot got shot (I think), the heli started falling down to the ground and it hit the ground, without receiving any damage and it also provided me support. Also, that second time, the helicopter landed right next to that point where the defend objective is. Sadly, neither of those times helped me complete the mission and I'm still stuck on it.
Has anyone even beaten the third mission?
I have. Take the APC at the far end of he village and make sure your driving it. Then roll around and hope that the AI can kill the enemies. I did it like that.
There is no APC. [editline]01:54PM[/editline] I'm consider shooting the driver of the Jeep, stealing it, and going back to get one of the AAPCVs.
There is no APC. [editline]01:54PM[/editline] I'm consider shooting the driver of the Jeep, stealing it, and going back to get one of the AAPCVs.
There was for me. Did you make sure all of them survived when you get hit by mortars?
It has a surprisingly good squad command thing for a "console port". And it's really good fun playing infiltration with friends. Depends on what you want in a game.
In my opinion, i think they are two very different games. And like you said, it depends on what you want. If it where me, they are both worth getting.
Am I the only one who's just completely speechless at how bad this game is? It is literally unplayable.
