I'm glad that I stuck with ArmA II
I want to know who came up with the idea of implementing a checkpoint save/load system for a non-linear massive open world shooter. It works for linear games but even there, it's often frustrating but in OFP it's just cancer. Pure cancer.

I have to agree, this game sucks
Drive_the_hive obviously sucks as this game, and doesn't like loosing.
Has anyone even beaten the third mission?
I have.
It's the beachhead one, isn't it, with the airport and all?
I'm at the one where you need to go and evac the crew from a helicopter crash.

No, I really tried, I'm honest. The uninstall hurt because the game had so much potential. The story is intriguing and the graphics are very pretty plus I enjoyed playing OFP 1. The game is incredibly well optimized because my X1900XTX (my 8800GTX died) can run this at 15-20 fps on high settings which is remarkable but in its current shape it's just wasting space on my HDD.
What are all the differences between the PC version and Xbox 360 version (besides the mission editor)?
Better controls and sharper graphics I guess.
It came yesterday, I installed, played, was dissapointed, sold it to my friend for £5 more. :fuckyou:
Despite all the negative comments, still not sure on buying it or ArmA II. I've played the ArmA II demo for a good five-six hours, and it seems to only get better and more enjoyable as I improve, along with my tactics. Had some good moments playing it co-op with mikeyt493. This thread is making me lean more towards ArmA II at the moment.
Is there an editor in the 360 version of the game?
From a few pages back, someone said no.
Oh, and can you play Offline CO-OP on the 360?

Yeah; we've played through the two levels in co-op a few times, and we've won some of them, but not all. It does seem to get more fun the better you get.
But after looking at some trailers and gameplay of this, I'm still not sure on which I want to get. Might just wait until the winter sales and get both, if there's a decent price drop.

I'd say if you didn't have either, then go for ARMA 2.
I've yet to enjoy this game, no matter how hard I try.

Someone said there was no split-screen; therefore I suppose not.
I like ArmA 2 better. I don't like this that much.. anti aliasing seems to be edge detect, fails to work as white lines appear around edges.

Well, I can see ArmA II having more replay value. but I think I'll wait for the demo of OF to come out before I make a decision on which game I buy.
I'm noticing that there are two reactions people have:
"THIS IS AWESOME AND AMAZING AND THE BEST GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED"
and
"wow this game fucking sucks what a waste of money"
It's a new release, so there's more sense in waiting.
I thought they said there would be a demo BEFORE release.
I thought they said there would be a demo ON release.
I want a demo.
I think it's pretty good.

just got past the mission where you had to find the downed helicopter crew.
Is there an editor in the 360 version of the game?
No, the console version definitely has no editor but don't worry, loads of PC gamers can't use it aswell because it simply won't start up. :v:
Me included.
I also find this game pretty good. I like shooting people. Sometimes they don't die, and will lie there on the ground so that I can shoot them up-close :3
By the way, does anyone know how to make corpses stay? I hate the fact that they disappear after a while :/

Well, at first, I went into the game with the same mindset that I play ArmA with. I was confused and slightly disappointed.
Then, after a brief reprieve, I went back to the game with the mindset I associate with sandbox action games, and I've begun to enjoy it. The commo rose is a bit clunky and quirky at first, but using the movement keys (WSAD), you can issue commands quite quickly.
My only complaint that I have is the almost complete lack of a tutorial. Very confusing, had to go look at the key setup many times to figure out some things, and others I just had to wing it.

Thing is, OFP isn't exactly abysmal, it's just unfinished. They pulled a Gothic 3 by releasing an unfinished product just to make it on time. Patches will eventually iron out the bad fuck ups and then it might be a decent game but until then, if you can't decide, then all you can (and should) do is wait.
I found the heli crew, but what the fuck, I can't actually see them anywhere. I heard him and all, speaking to me.
And to top it off, some arse kills him right after the autosave.
