I have enjoyed my time with it. I found arma 2 to be disappointed to be honest, the engine it ran on in my opinion SUCKS, arma 2 that is. I have no problem with OFP2 but maybe more setting for graphic, textures in some areas could be higher, and distance of detailed viewed, AKA seeing grass 1000 meters away. Also its realistic to a degree, but has some lacks in realistic areas, but slight change to make it enjoyable. Everytime I start a mission (I play hardcore) I set my ROE to fire on my lead, set formation to line, and spread to combat, or tight, depends if im moving or attack. If I was going to engage a enemy, and had the element of surprise, I would get on there flank and within 100 meter of them, I would get my men on their bellys, we would get within 25 meters, and I would get one of the enemy's in my iron sights and open fire. My roe was set to fire on my lead, so soon as I fired the rest of my squad opened up on the rest of them (4 others) and they all fell over. Also the ragdolls in this game, are AWESOME! it feels realistic, the way bullets mess with the body, or explosions, maybe the gibing from a mortar hit is alittle unrealistic. but the fact that ragdolls disappear, there guns with it, I found my self charging to just get ammo from the bodies. Also the NPC are in the same place everytime, I do feel they could have the NPC be more active, so when you assault a camp, or a outpost they are somewhere els in the house, or camp, because alot of the time I find my self using a mortar strike on a area because I know there is a assload over the hill. I say if you didn't like arma because it was really poorly balanced, and to be honest arma 2's NPC SUCKED! the demo, the first mission in the demo, the town, the way I killed 50 enemy NPC in 5 minutes was annoying. Also OFP2 play it on hardcore, fuck the rest, if you feel it feels too much like a arcade shooter, well make it hardcore, take off that cross hair, the hit detector, the HP indicator, the bleed indicator, and the ammo indicator, Plus compass, and markers. OFP2 a must buy in my opinion for someone who enjoys a good FPS but also loves realism, a happy medium. If you played the bf2 project reality, you will love this, because it feels exactly like it. 8.5/10. worth the money seeing its only 39 dollars, cheap for a new game these days. First game ive bought in over 7 months. Also the devs promise DLC every month, some of it free, for a good year or awhile, they even also announced a path coming up soon that address the biggest bug issues people are bitching about. also I like to address a glitch people complain, that when you try to heal someone they just run away, well you pull up your command menu, aim at them and set it to "treat wound" and they will stay still, and heal them selves, if you are in combat, and a medic is dead, or busy, you can do it your self.
Just to set the record straight: Brown + Bloom =/= Sharper/better graphics.

There can be only 64 entities (people, vehicles, editor placed buildings, discarded weapons and such) in the game at one time. The game will remove the dead bodies and everything in them to spawn fresh new NPCs.

And i just [b]bought[/b] the game. It is so fuckign amazing. The campaign kind of sucks, but the mission editor has unlimited fun. Ever wanted to see what would happen if 2 helicopters collide at 500 meters up? Now you can :biggrin: And what i like best, is that the houses are destructable as well as vehicle parts, and i think i even some some gore/gibs.

A lot of the time the gunship was looking for me and never found me, try to keep a low profile and you wont attack attention from the gunships. Tips to keeping a low profile set ROE to fire on my lead, keep your men in a line, keep them tight, so they don't attract a lot of attention. if your going to attack set it to combat spread, line. Crawl up to your enemy about 25m, and give the order to fire, or take the first shot your self. reset the ROE to fire on my lead, do the objective, get out of the area.

I go a question for the editor, everytime i try to give a waypoint, it says that the car/whatever vehicle doesnt have a virtual crew or some error like that. How do i fix it?
One thing that bothers me. Arma 2 got about 3 addons on the first day, and yet this got none.
I watched my friend play this today, and I must say it follows several guidelines to failure. 1) When hurt and calling for a medic, the A.I will move the medic beside you, but if you're on the second floor of a building he will go outside of the building on the ground. Fail. 2) Enemies can see you from the other side of the map, you can't see them while you're zoomed in. Fail. 3) Recoil, where is it? Some of these guns my friend shot had no recoil what so ever, and it still managed to take a couple clips to kill some enemies effectively. 4) A.I. Dumb ass hell, won't follow you and has a hard time entering vehicles. But god damn can they shoot! Too bad they try to shoot tanks from point blank... 5) Destructables, he drove a jeep into a bunker (not even flat out) and the whole thing collapsed. Tell me what's wrong here. 6) God A.I, another A.I issue is the enemies always seem to take a dozen clips to die, but your men die at the sight of a bullet zinging past them. All in all, it looks like it could have been a decent game. But these are unacceptable issues with the gameplay itself that hurt the game severely.

If I remember correctly, OFP 1's editor spawned every vehicle with no one inside.

So basically no modding, while Arma has nothing to lose with a large community and has a hands-off approach to content.

Can anyone join a multiplayer game? They are all 1/x and I can't join any of them.
Adius, you're better off (at least, this is what I do) just using the "Quick Match" feature to get into populated servers. Sadly, very few of those will be co-op servers.
If anyone wants to join me in coop, add Adius.

Anyways the AI is pretty stupid but the game is great overall. Wow, I just noticed how destructible the environments are. I was taking cover behind some building when a mortar shell hits that same building and blows out a huge chunk of the wall right next to me. It was even more awesome when I was in that mission where you defend that tower in the airfield and all the enemy APC's and AT soldiers just blew that tower to hell. At the end, pretty much all that was left of it was just a few walls and stairs.
Everyone's bashing the AI yet I think it's pretty smart. Enemies run for cover, try to flank... pretty good. I just hate how your quadmates often kill you by shooting you or throwing grenades near your position but apart from that it's fine IMO.
