ArmA 2, like OFP will absolutely have NPC squadmates. It's a staple of the game series.
They better fix those explosions. Looks like a smoke grenade.
Get fucked poser. You can PM me your PmKEYS number and provide some proof before I lose all respect for you.
contractor
Mind telling us what contracting company you work for?
contractor
Because veteran military personnel working for private contractors argue with teenagers on the net about ArmA and brag about their military service.
Is this Summer for the US?
Reading 256 NPC's at a time made me realize, I need to upgrade my processor VERY badly
Else I'm gonna run like shit at those fire fights
The reason Arma sucked was because BIS was running out of money, and needed something to keep GAME 2 in development. In fact, Arma 2 was in development WAY before Arma 1 even started!
Which brings me to the point that BIS will be pressured. If Arma 2 fails to deliver and everyone moves to OP2, they'll most likely go bankrupt. Codemasters on the other hand has a bunch of money to fall back on. This won't mean that Codemaster's will skimp out on quality though, their driving simulations are insane. DiRT has the sexiest damage system ever and the Colin McRae franchise is probably one of the oldest car simulation name ever. IIRC, the first one was constantly being compared to Gran Turismo.
Edit: Codemasters have been making simulation games since 1989

i never said i was a veteran, nor did i say i was in the military
i replied to a comment with some credentials so my post is completely relevant to the discussion at hand, unlike yours which goes off in to no-mans-land because you simply can not read

You have to have previous military experience to be a contractor.

He doesn't technically, but since he's so sure of himself, he wouldn't mind sending me some proof, lest I expose him for being a poser. A company name isn't good enough. I could say I work for Aegis, but that means fuck all.
Why only 32 players? This is shit

Yes that means nothing that it's an actual company.

What the fuck, did you completely fail to comprehend my message? Aegis is a real company as well, saying I work for them means fuck all however. It's like a douche bag in some bar claiming to be a Navy SEAL just because he has a trident tattoo on his shoulder. He could've got that anywhere.
1. It's highly unlikely he was hired without previous LE or Military experience.
2. Most security firms will issue an ID very similar to a military ID system. He should feel happy to give me one, that way I can verify his ass on SOCNET. However if he just gives me a random ID, I'll A) think he's full of shit and B) request further proof.
3. 90% of contractors have Military or LE backgrounds, he says he has neither. The other 10% don't waste their time arguing over video games.
EDIT: Nevermind I don't need to. Poser just fucked himself over when he said he had no prior experience. Triple Canopy requires that it's operators have previous experience in Military and/or Law Enforcement (SWAT/SRT).
Now watch dumbass come along and claim he was previously a part of a special response team and then this whole process will start over again.

Armed Assault two is not 'game two'
BIS dropped any ideas of game two about the time Armed Assault switched to a modern setting rather than 1985-style OFP remade.

Maybe you didn't read. Everyone takes control of a 8 NPCS squad I think.
Puff of smokes is gay, muzzle flashes leaving smoke and heat haze is cool.
This is why OFP2 will be a disappointment to most people who play and love OFP1. Because they are marketing to guys like him ^
If the company doesn't hire a bunch of ex military eastern bloc psychos for advisers, the game will not be OFP. Cue Bohemia Interactive.
Why only 32 players? This is shit
It will come mods that makes so you can play more players at ones
Ahh man this game looks epic, i was reading on their custom forums on the OF site and they are thinking of giving the ability to rappel from Black hawks instead of flying around to find a landing spot.

Ok firstly, the game does not look epic. It looks shit. It looks like BF2 on high settings.
Secondly, don't be expecting shit. So far all Codemasters have done is cut features because they know they can't deliver.

Im sorry i didnt realise you chose my opinion, OK guys this game is shit noone buy it or play it because "professional" is pissed at codemasters for making a game that is like other games.
SO what if it looks like other games, its called competition by companies.

Wow, so much for accepting other people's opinions. Jesus calm down, I think it looks cool and Codemasters has been proven to be a competent game company. Save it until the game is released.
I think this game looks awesome I hope it actually delivers.

I think it will, codemasters games have been pretty damn good, except for Jericho that game was shit.
GRID and DIRT are still as good as when i first got them and this looks very promising.

Yeah. Like I said earlier, it's proven Codemasters is a competent game company I don't think they would disappoint on such a big project.
Edit:
Unless of course, it gets over hyped to the extreme.

Watch your blood pressure mate, all the raging and ranting you've been doing.
Calm the fuck down and realise that people are entitled to their own opinions.
And okay, I haven't rooted through the thread, but who's to say that you're the military figure you claim to be?
And yeah, OFP2 doesn't look bad, but I'd much rather play ArmA 2, ArmA one has provided me countless buckets of fun, especially with D. Murphy Man's Quarantine game mode (Zombie survival ftw) and the Project RACS addons

Well if it gets overhyped and then lives up the the hype i think many will people very pleased.
I've never played any of the ArmA (isit?) games, is it worth getting to compare OF to ArmA?

You best be shitting me.
ArmA is the true successor to OFP1. Bohemia interactive made OFP1, they also made ArmA, and are gonna release ArmA2 soon. Make no mistake that ArmA2 will be the true OFP2 (Arma 1 was good, but thoroughly unpolished. Felt like OFP 1.5). Codemasters has the rights to the name as they published OFP, so obviously they act as if they made OFP, and they didn't. In all the videos they always say "in OFP we did blah blah" Who the fuck is "we"? they didn't do fuck all as far as OFP went. They are just trying to steal what little spotlight that ArmA2 has, all the while flinging feces all over the OFP name. That's part of the reason I am loosing more interest in OFP2. I will probably buy it; as most games suck right now, and I'm sure even if OFP2 doesn't live up to the OFP name, it will still be decent, if not good.
This is one of the few games where I hope they actually make it more accessible for everyone else. Most of the signs from the Codemasters forum section on this game are worrying, particularly people whose demand for realism over gameplay goes as far as not having a HUD or third person camera. They're welcome to options which disable these features if they feel they don't them, otherwise leave them in.
I don't agree. It's like in GTA4: A bunch of retards can't learn to aim for themselves so they turn on autoaim, and everybody who can, does it online. Which gives them a big advantage over the people who prefer free aiming.
