I've sort of fucked myself with Dota 2, I don't think I'm a terrible player, somewhere in the middle. I usually do pretty well in games, but only as a few heroes because I'm too scared to play others. What's the best way for me to try and open up a bit more and play more heroes without the fear of doing terribly and wasting people's time It isn't just like I'm brand new, I'm sitting on just shy of 400 hours
WHY is matchmaking SO FUCKING BROKEN!? I always get partnered with clueless fucks or russians. Why can't i have people on my level? Why is the opposite team always total stompers?
whenever i queue, I find a match instantly, 9/10 i find another match 9/10 i find another 9/10 takes me a long ass time
Or you can just Random most of your all pick game for a few weeks, the bonus gold can help you out with a new hero a bit better, just try not to become dependant on it.

Randoming has taught me how to play various heroes I still play. Silencer, Axe, Centaur, Bestmaster, Kunkka, Slardar, bounty hunter, and many others.

It takes some time to adapt some people adapt quicker than others. I suggest play a hero twice and see if you like him/her if not move on.
To whoever I played horribly with, I'm sorry. I'm normally not that bad. Sorry for the horrible experience.
you can just try transitioning upwards through the "kill potential" ranks to get used to it, that's what i did like start out playing as pure supports (lich, lion) and hard supports (windrunner) then transition to gankers and semi-carries (bounty hunter, night stalker) and then when you feel comfortable with that you can start trying out real carries (drow, am). doing it this way really helps you to get used to positioning and teamfights and so on without the team being fucked over if you mess up

But I recommend single draft more. Random draft gives too much space to direct counters in my opinion. Single draft limits choices by a lot, which might not give people counters that could shut you down completely. Or a centaur? Seriously, if it was a different hero in the last 3 games, it wouldn't had been a loss. That thing is ridiculous.
I wanna try Bloodseeker but I'd feel terrible picking him.
To whoever I played horribly with, I'm sorry. I'm normally not that bad. Sorry for the horrible experience.
Its ok, get over it.
I'll try the autoexec.cfg, My main problem is really that i lose hope after getting killed a few times. I really find it hard to stay confident when i've died like a bitch a few times.
play against easy bots for a long time then try out normal bots, and move onto matchmaking when you feel confident with a certain hero or just your general skill level
I wanna try Bloodseeker but I'd feel terrible picking him.
I'd only suggest doing it with a premade team. Considering the fact that he needs middle or a solo lane for his full potential to come out. And in pub matches, you'll almost never get either of these.
Just tried Kunkka + Shadow Demon mid with a friend. First game was mid against a Templar Assassin, was pretty hard to get the combo off due to refraction. Second game we were against a invoker mid, it worked wonders. The combo is so fun.

Stop playing all pick. That gamemode is horrible unless you're playing with friends.
Stop playing all pick. That gamemode is horrible unless you're playing with friends.
I like AP more than SD or RD. People in a lot of my RD or SD are just like "hehe how do i play this hero" or "all these heroes are trash im gonna just feed to get this game over with"
i don't know what skill bracket you're in, but rd and sd is amazingly better than ap because people actually try.
Not for me, my AP games fare pretty well and I have fun in most of them whether soloq or duoq. For solo and duo its AP>RD>SD>CM And since I random half my games, I get bonus gold so whatever
w/e, streaming some rd/sd now in 720p + music player zzzzzzzzz http://www.twitch.tv/beardyduck

For 4-man teams always do Captains Mode in Russia. The randomer russian is 100% likely to be the captain.
It's gonna call you back.
I removed it once. But it just came back. Bigger, stronger! There's no Deleting it! It'll never be erased. No one's ever survived Dota. No one's ever left its grasp alive.
Witch Doctor is completely ridiculous.
