Just met a very annoying douchebag of a drow.
He apparently doesn't knows whats the difference between having mana for mana burn and not having for impale. Got killed by skeleking after I mana burned him. I couldn't do anything else other than taping him or mana burn at that time, so at least disabled his mana.
Drow started calling me an idiot noob, worst player ever, saying she was gonna report.
Later, got nuked by a surprise gondar who 2 hited me in less than 2 seconds. Once again, drow went "hurr durr this nyx sucks, worst player ever", expecting me to pop carapace in less than 2 seconds of being surprise attacked. I called him out, saying he wasn't that good either, even the enemy agree'd :v:
I got my shit together fast, skele and lycan meanwhile had BKB which seriously nerfed my spells effects to almost nothing, but we ended up being tanky enough for their BKBs to run out before any of us died, and they ended up getting killed one by one, disable after disable. Gondar couldn't do shit but die.
At that point, got a few kills, and drow, yet again, had to complain.
"managed to fix your shit score by ksing nyx"
"well, I like to think its better to drop everything you got instead of holding back and letting him get away, and apparently, you can't finish what you started killing so..."
Drow went from calling me a noob to crying about ksing kills from a drow with way more farm than me.
We won. Drow had shit score compared to the drows I usually see and even compared to me, and I didn't do much.
Just mute those people, no matter what you or anyone else in the game says they'll pretend to laugh it off and keep talking shit.

Having a lot of kills doesn't automatically buy the most useful items you know.

AC on an agility hero always seemed less effective, it feels like an item completely geared towards str carries. Sure there's the -armour but against your main opponent Viper it wouldn't have made a significant difference.
I just had one of the most intense games. It was a balanced team (me) vs. an all carry team.

There was a period of time where we thought we were going to lose. We could not catch a break and were getting dismantled even if we hit all five of them with our ulties . It was fucking scary. Then Void got his BKB and Daed and some hard style, back alley brawl kinda fights started breaking out and we'd all walk away pretty much even. Void went to solo Roshan, killed him but had to leave quickly because the enemy team was coming and left the Aegis behind. Skeleton King of all mother fuckers picked it up and trigger immediate teamfight. It could not have gone better for us. They got dismantled. We dropped Luna quick, killed SK, dropped Templar Assassin and Dragon Knight, killed SK, killed Necrolyte, killed SK again and pushed for a win. It was incredible. Watch the replay.
Why is that Tidehunter so fucking retarded.
Why are all Tidehunters so retarded.

I don't know. He missed a lot of ulties too because of all the BKB's, amplified by the fact that he has a Refresher.
Had a great game with a Keeper of the Light in my lane and I was Naga Siren. Harassed the enemy to literally no hp and then killed them both with KoTL's illumination, kept netting Ursa away from the farm and giving him a riptide in the face just for extra insult.

On the note of AC.
Is AC worth getting over Butterfly on BH if you are going to carry? (aka have to)
I usually get Desolator -> MKB if void or PA -> Assault Cuircass -> MKB otherwise -> Heart
I love Sniper. So much. Rate of fire upgrades makes you a rape cannon.
(Could've sworn I posted this earlier, but I guess it didn't show up.)
I just installed DOTA 2 (not test) and I cannot join a single game. It will find the game, attempt to connect, and fail every time. Anyone else having this problem, or know how to fix it?
Just in case anyone missed it, there was a small update for WC3's DotA.

I can't play Kotl just because I never use illuminate because I don't want to steal farm.
I can't play Kotl just because I never use illuminate because I don't want to steal farm.
You can use iluminate from the forest/shop. Force the enemy to run away so they can't farm at all.
Even if you take some of your partner's farm, the enemy will get less.

I like how he is a simple hero with a simple purpose which means that positioning and basic stuff, like target prioritization, etc, all matter more than usual.
However, I am having some issues reading new patch notes.
With range buff to Shrapnel, Headshot becoming useful even early on I don't quite have clear leveling choices anymore.
Beforehand it was maxing shrapnel with take aim, leaving headshot for later when you have some proper attack speed. Now, Shrapenl maxed early gives huge benefits, Take aim is still decent in how much range you can achieve but headshot with it's stable 40% and 0.25 stun is must-pick for at least 1 point before level 6, but 1 point will grant little damage (15), while levels 2/3/4 give upwards of 90 damage, as soon as level 7 if maxed.
Bonus 90 damage with 40% chance, and 0.25 stun on top of that isn't minor stuff. It's around 40% DD with ministun always there if you are not packing a lot of stats early on.
I am thinking something of maxed shrapnel with headshot and mandatory midas for quicker levels so you are level 16 asap, or at least level 14.
I'm thinking of sticking with my usual plan of zig-zagging between shrapnel and take aim, then crossing between base and headshot anyways, because Headshot still won't be that useful when you haven't got the damage nor the fire rate to skirmish early on.
Edit: Of course upgrading assassinate when I can, that's a natch.

That's the thing, it will be useful now.
40% is pretty much 1/3 hits at average luck. 0.25 stun is decent, notice how it was annoying at even 0.0.1, interrupting animations and such. Now add slow on top of that from Veno or someone.
Hello, I am posting in this thread for the first time.
I just got DOTA 2, I read all the Dota 2 you suck guides and watched videos ever since I got DOTA 2 as a gift yesterday.
Problem is I don't want to play this game alone.
I want to play with some facepunch players, people that I can get to know and communicate with you here on the forum or on steam. So please if you want to help this pub, please send me a invite on steam so we can play together sometime.
It's not worth it bro, get out while you can.
this. game.
we were losing HARD, like "fuck this retarded team" hard, but then we managed to win a single team fight. the next one they all died and we managed to push straight to ancient. pl wasnt farming right early, but i guess he pulled it off :v
we turned the game around so fast it was unbelievable
happened today, i fed like 0/9 then we won a couple team fights and i picked up
I can't play Kotl just because I never use illuminate because I don't want to steal farm.
Solo suicide lane, Illuminate any enemy camp pulls, fucking profit.
Is there a way to tell what bracket I'm in?
maybe u shouldnt play arguably one of the worst heroes in the game then. nyx is underpowered as fuckkk
He isn't that weak anymore.
His base regen is now big enough to stay in lane even without healing consumables.
His impale can be increadibly useful if you know how to use it.
Mana burn now hurts quite a bit and is pretty good to disable someone's mana, like a single target emp.
Carapace now works ridiculously good in teamfights, as you can go in the middle of it, have people target you or wait for them to ravage your team with aoe and get the damage bounced back on all of them along with a 2 sec stun to boot.
Then theres vendetta that will get a damage boost after getting a speed boost which is great to take down someone's hp fast.
Along with all that, null talisman needed for dagon will be slightly cheaper, which will further help.
The way I see it, drow can be more useless than nyx. It all comes down to the way you use a hero.
And I love to hear idiots whining as if they knew everthing. They sould be happier if I cheated and somehow edited my stats. What the fuck, its like people can't calm the fuck down and ask for nyx to carry with auto attacks and have infinite mana.

I don't understand what you are saying here, that Nyx can carry? (Spoiler: He can't)
