A Nyx can impossibly own late game unless hes amazingly fed or the enemy plainly sucks/has bad picks.
Nyx can own early, but after that he disappears.

Dagon 5 is awful to get though.
Dagon 3 is max, after that he should get Scythe of Vyse or something.
At level 16 he has 260 + 525 + 600 + reflect + 5 sec stun + manaburn.
Which generally is enough to kill any hero that is not super tanky, any support, some carries, then immediately afterwards he falls off.

Because owning early and getting 10 kills to 0 deaths isn't the same
And even if he kills everyone 50 times without dying, he still can't carry against any agi or str hero. (aka almost every carry)
I REFUSE to believe a Nyx can successfully carry a game or otherwise beat carries or win the game for his team after the 30 min mark against equally skilled players.
I mean, Nyx was picked once in a competitive game right after (or some other time) the international and they lost so bad.

That was before his buff. Not only that, but what use are carries if they are shut down? And I never said they were on the same skill level, at all. The Nyx was clearly a great player, but no-one was 'bad' by any respect.
Plus, having shitloads of gold and level advantage is usually what decides a game.

Invoker can be such a asshole to play against, whenever there was a teamfight I just use deafening blast, then tornado, then chaos meteor or EMP then or cold snap to pick off a lone hero. It always sends the enemy team back to base early because they have almost no mana to use spells for once I finish. :v:

Dagon 1 is max if you're playing serious. If you're playing even more serious then it's either dagon 5 or go home.

Dagon is weaker Lina/Lion's ult on tiny CD in form of an item, and people wonder it's expensive.
Blink Dagger = a lot worse version of Anti-mage's or Akasha's blink, 2150 gold.
If you are buying an ability that other hero has naturally, better at that in many regards (except damage of course in case of dagon) you have to expect high prices.

Just an offtopic commentary about that... (offtopic as in non dota related)
I still think that if the characters in the show didn't have those girly designs and resembled horses more, the fanbase would never be this big.
Also, I like to go Dagon 5, altough I only reach it near the end of the game. By then, its basically over.
