It's not the color scheme, it's the fact that the SPIDER character has a big boobed, scantily clad woman form. That says something.
That they know their player base is 12?
Im speechless, my last 2 games have been horrible, a combination of everything that is wrong in the Dota 2 Community. They actually were rage worthy, something that doesnt normally happen when I'm playing, it was just mind boogling how bad the other 3 players on my team on each game were.
Sometimes I wonder if I'm really that low on the skill bracket :c
That Sylvan Guard set kicks ass.
Still prefer the default hair atm. The cape, arm and leg parts are awesome from the frost set though.
This is accepted for the game, think its better than the other two options:

Why does she have pointy elf ears if she is a human?

I dont mind any drow hairs but I just prefer her hood and her normal hair.
Still better than the frost lesbian set.
I can't stand the spikes of frost hair, reminds me of circa 2006 pink
The rest of the set is cool though
[editline]24th October 2012[/editline]
Also I've been meaning to play Lina and Lion, their abilites are awesome, especially their ults
i guess everytime i actually want to win a game i have to play void or pl now.
I just go Batrider if I want a free win.
Which usually is the case, unless team intentionally throws the game.
She's really really cold. Also blue paint
Paint prolly because she wants to mesh in with the other drow people and helps in night camo or so. But the point really is that the lore says she's human.
Was reading somewhere that AM is not human too because he is orange :v:
Anti-Mage has tanned skin but he has a British Accent, he can't be human.
As far as I understood, Drow are some forest-folk who enjoy darkness, Traxex got some identity-problems cause she was raised by them. Drow might be some small blue people who live in forests (smurfs) so Traxes tries to fit in by painting herself blue, she might be "human" coloured normally. (or a black woman)[I feel like Tresdin now.]
Playing CM when suddenly her portrait at the bottom loses her hood+hair and she looks like Aang from The Last Airbender (She has a blue line going down her forehead)

Where does it say she's a human? It doesn't ingame, is there a more indepth lore anywhere? I'd love to read them.

When I read about them I think they're more like Kobolds from Warcraft lore, except more jungle based. (Picture if you will, Trundle from LoL mixed with Kobolds from Warcraft3)

doesnt say shes a human, but definitely not a drow.
" But Traxex herself is not a Drow. Her parents were travelers in a caravan set upon by bandits, whose noisy slaughter of innocents roused the ire of the quiet Drow people. "
Drow Ranger isn't human, hence the pointy elf ears, but she isn't a drow either. She was raised by the drow, and thus she paints her skin blue to look like one. Pretty sure she's actually just an elf though.

That's pretty much exactly what I thought. I was wondering why people kept saying the lore said she was human, I was worried I missed something.
So, Dota 2 is apparently getting a Halloween update.
What do you guys think of updates like that for Dota 2? Do you think it'd get in the way of the game, or do you look forward to it? (Asking because you guys have more experience with this kind of thing, personally I think a couple halloweeny items and a map visual overhaul would be neat for different seasons/occasions).
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Dota2 whatsoever except for SOME of the cosmetic items.

I'd read a theory from somewhere that old humans get pointy ears in Dota 2's universe. Invoker, Lone Druid being the largest examples. Don't remember where I saw it, though. :(

Dare I ask if there are any fixes for this? It's not happened with anything else and my searches showed nothing of use. I need my fix of Dota, I've gotta get this sorted out.
The wiki gives a character bio for every hero in-game. Usually has some interesting background, although they use a lot of 'last of their kind' explanations, rather annoyingly. Drow's one is here.
Here's something that's always confused me. Was Pugna originally a human...thing, or was he just a baby skeleton?
Her actual ears arent pointy, and it has been discussed a lot, she's a human, theres nothing to suggest otherwise. Blue skin and white hair may make her a some fantasy type of human, but still, a human.
Or it maybe as well just some sort of ritual painting. Even confirmed oglodi folk has both normal human tone and red tone variations of skin color.
It's like white people and black people are still Human, but an Elf is an Elf, not Human.
Oglodi are some orcish-brute people with large noses and wide chins (Axe, Warlock, Dis_Raptor)
The reason Axe and Raptor are red because they took a part in an Oglodi-ritual, some blood-based ritual, which makes their skin red. Warlock didn't take part on that, thus he is "normal" colored.
Other dudes like Kunkka or Omni are "normal" humans, there are other races like slithereens (Slardar[Naga]) Myranths (Sven is half-myranth, half-human) for some examples.
Here's something that's always confused me. Was Pugna originally a human...thing, or was he just a baby skeleton?
"In the realm of Pugna's birth, near the vents of the Nether Reaches, there stood a lamasery devoted to the Arts of Oblivion, which drew its power from the nether energies. The Grandmaster of the temple compound had himself passed into Oblivion several years prior, leaving his academy without a leader. From the moment of their master's death, the regents of the temple began rites of divination to identify their master's reincarnation, and eventually all signs converged on the immediate neighborhood. Several villages squatted in the shadow of the temple, their alleys and plazas full of the laughter of squalling children. Pugna, a mere thirteen months of age, was but one candidate among the local brats, and on the appointed day he was presented at the temple alongside two other promising tots. The lamas offered a jumble of worn relics to the children, treasured possessions of their former grandmaster. One boy reached for a porphyry wand that had belonged to the lama...and put it in his nostril. An impish girl pulled out an amulet that had also been the lama's, and immediately swallowed it. Pugna regarded the other two coolly, gave a merry laugh, and blasted them with gouts of emerald flame, reducing them to ashes in an instant. He then snatched up the wand and amulet, saying 'Mine!' The regents hoisted the beaming Pugna on their shoulders, wrapped him in their grandmaster's vestments, and rushed him to the throne before his mood could change. Within five years, the temple itself was another pile of ash, which pleased Pugna to no end."
He's basically a normal 5 year-old kid with Nether-realm powers, which made him which he is now; a baby skeleton.

6 years, 3 months old actually, not 5.
I wonder however, nether-realm seems to be twisted and highly magical, but were pugna alike he is now always, or he changed himself ?

Yea, that's the exact same lore they have ingame on the Learn Tab. Already know about all of that.
What baffles me is how pugna doesn't act or talk like a child. Did the nether zappy magic stuff teach him english and drop his balls or something?

6 years and 1 month at the very most, actually. 12 months in a year, plus 5 years, plus one year. It does say within 5 years, though, so it's probably even less than 6.

Well, in the description posted above he said 'mine' and spewed hellfire at age 1, and being a reincarnation of the grand master of oblivion itself probably helped this a fair bit.
I played a Doom Bringer game the other day and after I got my heart I was ready to go into carry mode, then I saw a nice little Lion in lane next to the secret shop. I ran out with both Phase Boots and my hellfire, and when I got up to him out comes a fucking N'aix. Jesus. I could take him, but lion's disables fucked me over. So while N'aix is feasting on me, out of fucking no-where comes my buddy Spectre from behind me. She wasn't doing too well with farm, so she wasn't too tanky at the moment. Lion had decided to use his ult on her though. Next thing I knew Lion just died where he stood and Spectre killed N'aix and saved my ass.
Holy shit I love Spectre so much. That Lion just fell over and died.
This just reinforces my vision of Pugna being nothing more than a punk ass. :v:
