The Great War -WW1 Napoleon Total War Total Conversion

I actually have some rather interesting stories about when my great grandfather was in WWI. He apparently got injured a few times. The injury that ultimately got him out of the war was from mustard gas at Chateau Thierry (I think that's what it was), but he had also gotten injured from throwing a grenade back at the enemy (it went off prematurely and cut him up a little bit) and getting caught in an artillery barrage (he was lying prone on the ground and a nearby shell knocked him close to 6 feet up in the air and gave him a concussion).
Since when did tanks have genders
also those early tanks look so silly
what does the gender of the tank mean?

back then having a large cannon with small machine guns was Male, and female was just machine guns
If those who want a ww1 mod for empire there's one here

much more lower quality due to both empire and the skill but they have EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY who participated, even fucking Columbia who had a single roster. And if you don't want to wait for 5.0 these guys have helmets and rifles in all their glory.

Is that version out yet which includes Stahlhelmets, Brodie helmets and Adrian helmets for each of the factions (Germany Britain France obviously)?

Thank you
I wonder if there's any chance to port this over to Fall of The Samurai?
I mean, the gameplay mechanics of that are almost perfect for a WWI gamemode.

they mentioned doing that after they get everything finalized, but by then a new TW might be out these guys are slow as fuck
By the time Rome 2 comes out, no one will give a fuck about anything else.
[REDACTED]
War to end all Wars is fun, but Empire doesn't compare to the fluidity of napoleon, I can't wait for 5.0 but this helps fill the void.

hows it different from napoleon
only thing I found that TWTEAW is good at is cinematics

I meant at it's current state. The uniforms/helmets are a lot better, as are the artillery effects. I managed to nab a few great screenshots.
The finished product will probably be better.

[editline]21st October 2012[/editline]
how do you get rid of the units turning it to sprites from far away in empire
[editline]21st October 2012[/editline]
oh wow I was playing on empires lowest settings and thought it was the highest that's why I didn't like it. its not bad, they have to add more units and actual unit descriptions but its alright so far

Okay disregard what I said before this mods cool but needs tuning on how the units act
They need some custom maps, methinks.
Trenches, and bombed-out forests/villages/towns/cities, and railways, and coasts!
I hate my computer so fucking much. I sit there for like, 40 minutes, downloading all of the stuff, compiling it and the moment I move it into my E:TW folder
"Derp, archive corrupt, cannot move"

The the napoleon 5.0 version they have made maps with entire trench lines and no man lands. ITs a step up from what they have now hopefully it comes out soon
Sounds good to me, can't wait until they get it out on release.

watching this made me empathize with the hundreds of men I threw at the machine guns
Okay.
I'm trying to fucking install this damned piece of shit. Napoleon WWI.
Every goddamned time I open that retarded launcher, it says "Oh hurr, install TGW45.pack" even though I FUCKING HAVE IT.
What the fuck kind of error message is that?
AHHHHHHH
Welcome one and all!
Its been a while since one of these. Just to let you all know things are moving on and we are getting closer to release there is still some way to go however.
We have reached a stage we consider to be beta. This means most things are done, though much fine tuning and bug fixing is still needed. We also still need to add some models, perhaps add some units, make unit cards and do a whole host of other things. Crucially beta means the mod is complete enough that we can playtest and catch any bugs. Release seems ever closer.
Anyway here is a small preview of some UI features myself and Aanker have implemented recently for your viewing pleasure!
I'd love to play this, shame that it somehow causes Steam to close and then makes N:TW stop responding.
I've turned off the Steam Beta, hoping that's fixed the issue.
Yes, it fixed the issues.
