I just can't stand fighting other players.
I always get stuck with some asshat who only wants to back stab me and nothing else.
I remember back in Demon's I could actually hit someone with a slow weapon. I can only pull that off in Dark if someone else staggers them first. The pvp just seemed way more fun, and not laggy at all.

I remember fighting some dude in front of the bridge towards that elevator to the Old King. Damn, it was awesome. He always tried to push me from it's edge. The duel lasted for about 5 minutes, then I hit him so hard with my broadsword that he flew down and died. Messaged him afterwards and thanked him for a good fight. Stuff like this just doesn't happen in Dark Souls. Sadly.
I've been playing a gladiator the last day or so. Knight helm, leather round shield, soldier loincloth thing and zweihander. Most of the people I fight seem to rise to the occasion and fight fairly. It's a nice change from the bullshit I normally see in Dark Souls.
Well, I thought it was kind of lame ot have it that early. Also shooting the dragontail with a bow is annoying. How do you even get that ninja ring, it has something to do with the forest convenant and that ninja that appears near the eastern guy.
Join the forest covenant to make shiva and his bodyguard show up and kill his bodyguard (shiva will attack you too so be ready for that). The bodyguard drops the ring.
How do I kill the Dragon at the on the undead church (not the gargoyles)

You can cheese it with arrows, but there are some weird techniques to kill it with melee. I've never killed it because it only gives like 10000 souls. No need to.
Got this for xbox but took it back to the store because I don't have live and I felt like I was missing out majorly.
Also the first dragon that swoops down and kills you out of nowhere with absolutely no warning whatsoever (after a long slog through hollow warriors and no checkpoint) made me rage. The game touted the fact that every death was fair, but that was just bullshit.
All in all, though, it was a fun game but I didn't want to play it without the online component. Probably going to pick it up on the PC though when it comes out.
Just pre-purchased on steam.
I already own this on ps3, but hell, might as well support the pc.
At least I will have some advantage over new players.
Dragon slayer bow trolling? oh hell yes.

Hook your PS3 controller up to your PC, It'll be like you've been playing the PC version for a long time
In other news, I've been running around killing people in Gywn's armor with my flaming Uchichigatana, (Because Gywns sword is underwhelming) His armor is surprisingly terrible (made for the looks)
On Xbox 360, I'm waiting by the Gargoyles if anyone needs help :)

You have to run like crazy to the midpoint and then go down the stairs on the right. It's harder if you have heavy armour on 'cause you run slower.

I found that out the second time around, but it was still infuriating because there's no way for you to even know the dragon is gonna come until you die to him at least once.
I know Dark Souls is supposed to be punishing, but IMO there's a difference between genuine challenge and trial and error.

The fact that you see the dragon earlier on, and the obviously long bridge tells you that something is going to happen.

This game requires you be cautious or you die a lot, You can't just rush in with a sword and expect to survive, you have to look ahead, plan, scout, Learn the enemies. Then you can rush in
Even with that, the bridge is actually cheap. It just randomly fucks you up.
There is some stupid things in Dark/Demon's souls that can get you killed even though you didn't really do anything wrong. Bed of Chaos comes to mind. The first time you fight that thing, you don't really expect it to destroy the ground around you, and even if you do, probably not to the scale of 1/10th of the room. The dragons on bridges too, those are pretty dumb. Although, they showcase them somewhat well before you get to the bridges.
Those are things that will only get you once though, they could have been a lot crueler. There are hardly any of those traps. Besides I thought the dragon was kind of funny.
Oh, i don't personally mind them too much. Bed of Chaos is kind of dumb with how far in it is and how many souls you could be storing at that point. But the dragons are silly.

I saw the dragon quite a while ago and I had died enough times on the way to the bridge that I was more focused on a battle plan to close the gap between the Skeleton Archers on the bridge that didn't involve me being kited to death.
Maybe the bridge signified something big going to happen but it's not fair whatsoever to expect the player to go "oh a new area better prepare for a flying deus ex machina to come out of the sky and destroy me". If you don't have near perfect timing the next few times around, you'll still get hit by the dragon's flame unless you run back at the exact time.
I don't think this game is bad (the combat and stuff is quite good), but I still stand by my point that that particular part with the dragon on the bridge was nothing but a cheap death and an attempt by the devs to go "oh look how hard our game is".
You're making it a huge deal. Why do you care so much that early? You know it wasn't your fault and the devs know how cheap it was so there's nothing to get mad about.
Well, I knew it because of the burnt corpses and black burnings, so I moved cautiously foward until I heard the wings of the dragon, then I hid myself until his fire is vanished. Then I simply ran foward to te stairs. He doesn't attack when you run right after his first fire attack.

Also in Demon Souls there was a similiar situation.
Dark Souls Rule # 1: Don't ever let go of L1.
Am I the only person that likes Demon Souls more than Dark Souls?
I wish it would be ported for 360, I would love to play that game. I just watched some LPs, looks awesome. Although the story and setting of Dark Souls seems more interesting.
I can't wait for new content. I watched an LP of the game until anor londo, then my jackass friend (who I told not to ruin anything for me) ruined all 4 of the lord soul levels, so I never really got a chance to figure anything out until the PtD comes.

I liked the atmosphere in Demon Souls a bit more than Dark Souls, but Dark Souls still comes out on top for better overall gameplay in my opinion.

Except when you want to run really fast.

Bad idea saying one of the best ways to survive a hard hit is to keep your stamina up by dropping your shield in between attacks. :eng101:

Disc drive motherfucker didn't stand a chance. Nobody takes this game away from me. (Didn't have a fitting screwdriver. That thing had to die.) Bought a used one from a friend for a few bucks so nothing was lost.
