One more week until you guys can kill me over and over again in PvP. yay
Am I the only one only excited about the PvE? I find PvE much more enjoyable and entertaining than PvP. Never digged it that much.
I really hope not everyone decides to go all hardcore PvP on day 1. It would hurt new players coming into the game. The last thing people want to happen is to have their shit kicked in over and over and have no idea why.

It's been a while since I last posted here, but I'm gonna have to repeat what I said. I'm 60 hours and 70 levels in now, only have 4 bosses left, and I ain't saying this shit easy, but I stand by my statement that EYE and EVE are more hardcore games. I dunno who told me my bonfire would get put out and I'd hate the game or something like that, but dude, if you kill lautrec when you first free him, he ain't putting out no fires. And he ain't killin no firekeepers either. Also, the weapon upgrading system sucks balls, hard. Kept me using a weapon from parish for like 30 hours cause I didn't realize how much enrawing a weapon and getting it to raw5 improves it.
Never Raw your weapons, it just isn't worth it. Also, EVE and EYE are just as hard core as this, they are just hard core in a different way. Or at least I think so
Never Raw your weapons, it just isn't worth it. Also, EVE and EYE are just as hard core as this, they are just hard core in a different way. Or at least I think so
Well there's only one thing about either game I think makes it more hardcore, and that's that in EYE you can get stat penalties for dying, and in EVE, you lose the equivalent of all your gear on death. The actual difficulty is not as bad as DS, but those games are way more punishing. Also how is rawing my weapon not worth it? My raw5 halberd did about 100 more damage than most other weapons I had until I rawed some other ones. Elementals decrease and split damage, giving enemies two chances to block a lower damage output. Why would I ever use an elemental except when fighting a boss with weakness to some element? [editline]16th August 2012[/editline] I think I'll kill the firelink keeper for her armor though. Shoulda kept lautrec alive.
Raw weapons are good in the early game, but they lack to scaling that proves invaluable in late game and NG+ Oh god that sounds weird
Raw weapons are good in the early game, but they lack to scaling that proves invaluable in late game and NG+ Oh god that sounds weird
Does rawing decrease scaling marks?

Is anyone with the console version getting this updated edition on the PC? I know the extra features are coming to the original but I fancy getting it on computer.
I want to start a new game on my xbox but I might buy it for PC and do it there, although I'm not sure if I'm ready to go through it all again. My right now astronomical playtime of 60 hours stems mostly from not knowing what the fuck was going on during Burg and Parish and leaving the game running when I'm away, but I don't like the idea of doing all I've done so far once more. Especially since I find it incredibly hard to change my playstyle, so I know I'll end up doing exactly the same stuff. The only thing I really look forward to with a new character is playing a female and getting her the brass armor, but I won't pay 40 bucks for that, or however much the PC version'll cost.
I only have about 75 hours, all into one account

I know that, but I still don't like the idea of going through something like Sen's Fortress or the Hellkite bridge again. Stuff like the fucking swinging blades where it doesn't matter that I have the pattern to kill all enemies in the area down to muscle memory when I fuck up by stepping half a metre too far on the top bridge and die to a fall. Especially because Sen's bonfire is so badly placed and once you're there, the rest is cake anyways. And I'm also worried that the game will turn out a lot more boring because I know I'll do a lot less damage once I'm outta Parish with a new char. The reason I'm doing so much damage right now is mainly because I overleved extremely before I figured out the game in Parish, and I really don't look forward to needing more than 3 hits to kill a mob again. Also I got shitloads of rare gear that I don't wanna lose on this char. [editline]17th August 2012[/editline] I got the channeler's trident after 3 channeler kills by the way, tell me I am not the luckiest bastard ever. Training int for it right now. [editline]17th August 2012[/editline] Where can I get 421K souls fast?

So PVP "Balance" should be fine in early game, you hopefully wont have someone who is wearing Lightning gear early game unless he was to play through the entire game as a SL1 character or whatever. That, and Newbies might not touch PVP till later, unless that has a trueskill system or something like that. Or it could be that if you wanted, there could be a choice to make everyone's weapons +10's or something. Looking forward to this, Never been "hyped" up about getting a PC game.

The point of Magic/Enchanted, Divine/Occult, and Chaos is that they do indeed scale with the related stats, with Enchanted and Divine losing scaling in other stats and gaining scaling in the related stat. Normal weapons gain base damage and some scaling overall but really the main reason to have them around is because you can put temporary weapon effects on them. I can't think of any reason that you'd actually want to use crystal.
Where can I get 421K souls fast?
Darkroot forest pvp.
I can't think of any reason that you'd actually want to use crystal.
Powerful as fuck, can be buffed.
Powerful as fuck, can be buffed.
Oh really? I had always assumed you couldn't buff it. That does make it sound a lot better. I still personally can't stand the idea of putting so much into a weapon that I'll only be able to use for a short time though.
I use crystal to power through a tough Boss fight, useful for that.
I just finished my soul level 1 run as a pyromancer using only the starting gear. I breezed through most of the game but was really having issues with gwyn because he could easily kill me in two hits. I had vowed that I would kill Gwyn this very day but the day was ending so I realized I would need to make a new plan or break my vow. Then I realized "wait why am I doing all this effort if I could just kill him in 15 seconds". So I discarded my ring of favor and protection and equipped the hornet ring and red tearstone ring damaged myself and walked through the fog and casted power from within. Gwyn leaps toward me and I parry him dealing 1000-1500 damage with my +9 fire hatchet. While he is getting up I cast greater fireball and bring him down to 1 hp. However Because of power from within I only have 5 seconds left to live. In my panic I throw another fireball and hit gwyn as he rushes towards me and I die in sync with Gwyn. What a beautiful way to end a game.

Ok guys, I have run into a problem. I've filled up the Lordvessel (or so Gwynevere tells me), but I have absolutely no idea where to go. I'm reluctant to look at a video guide because I'm stubborn like that, but could one of you guys tell me what I'm missing? I don't think I've missed a boss (aside from Gwyn), but I can't remember that well. Thanks!
go visit Nigel Thornberry, the crazy serpent dude that talks to you. he'll eat you up and take you to where you need to go.
Go to Frampt at Firelink Shrine and talk to him, or go to the other guy that looks like Frampt in the Abyss. They'll take you down into the final area of the game where you place the lordvessel. Woops, bit late. Didn't notice this page.
