RIP, Full Havel flippy character. You will be missed
So is the Chaos Blade any good for PvP? I had a blast two handing Hiltless in Demon's Souls.
Does anyone have a reference list of which controller keys are associated to which keyboard keys? I couldn't figure out how to kick and was mainly just guessing controls
Isn't kicking just go slightly forward and press light attack instantly after that?

Is text very important in the game besides the tutorial? Very tempted to just go ahead and use the res fix now.
The controls haven't been too bad with mouse and keyboard so far. My only real issue is the constant snap-to of the targeting from enemy to enemy as I'm moving and swinging. It makes me miss swings and leaves me vulnerable to getting hit in the side/back because my attacks will switch between enemies randomly.

um the UI for controls is all in controller language, I have no idea how to use a keyboard. How do I access the main menu on a keyboard?
um the UI for controls is all in controller language, I have no idea how to use a keyboard. How do I access the main menu on a keyboard?
You have to press End and navigate with the arrow keys if you're doing it from ingame.
oh fuck why have they made it so complicated
Pasta from 4chan thread.
For those who are having problems with gamepad support and are trying to use something other than an Xbox360 controller, I've found a program that will allow most nonstandard controllers to emulate an Xbox360 controller. The program is located here: http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/ The way to use it is as follows. 1- Download the zip from the website, and extract it to where the DarkSouls executable is. 2- Run the x360ce.exe program, and allow it to locate the DATA.exe file. It will then search for optimal controller settings locally and off of the internet. (It is generally a good idea to let it search the internet for settings, as you may not find the correct settings locally.) 3- Once the program has fetched the correct settings, you shouldn't need to do much tweaking, if at all. The only thing I had to do was map the D-Pad, as it didn't do it correctly, and add a tiny deadzone to both analog sticks, as my controller's sticks are kinda wobbly. 4- You'll notice the program has places an xinput1_3.dll into your folder, that's normal. That .dll is what allows the remapping of the buttons and such. 5- Once all above steps are done, simply exit the program, save when it asks you to, and run the game. Your controller should be working fine.
How do you jump this gap? It looks like I clear it but then my character hits an invisible wall. [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/558699179518253566/3A84085E0ADD1BFE9294F31FC6D63BC0CF87DC1B/[/t]

The access is a bit further up ahead, down some stairs and up a ladder.
Hey, I've never played a game with an Xbox controller on pc before, so I'm not very good at this. I installed the software, restarted my pc, and started up Dark Souls. However, the controller didn't do anything. It's a wireless controller, but I use one of those cords you can use to connect it to an Xbox. Could that have something to do with it?
Is it possible to play with a keyboard and mouse?

fk i never thought anything in dark souls was scary but no matter how many times i go there painted world is always so unsettling the first time i went there i saw the dragon on the bridge and thought it was like the one in the valley of drakes and wouldn't move then i went towards it and it started to crawl towards me really fast and i got freaked out and started running into the tower then the bird thing showed up and i screamed like a little girl and said holy shit what is that kill it fast they're still pretty freaky
Fuck :downs:
I did this too. It's fucking retarded.
Is the master key automatic or do I activate it somehow?
Is the master key automatic or do I activate it somehow?
Automatic. It won't work on every door, but most. The only one I can think of that it can't open off the top of my head is the one on the bridge with the dragon. I think they patched it because people were skipping the Capra Demon entirely by going through there.
Buying this right now, I cannot possibly contain all of my anxiousness for this.
Couldn't even finish the tutorial with keyboard and mouse. My wired 360 controller is getting here on Saturday.
Is it possible to play with a keyboard and mouse?
no, I cant even get out the starting zone because it requires me to "PRESS A BUTTON" to pick a object up. It would work if the developers had not been lazy with the UI and key mapping.
Is it possible to play with a keyboard and mouse?
Technically yes. But once you get to Sens Fortress, many deaths will be had.
